DAY 1
3PM – MARITIME MEMORIES
Head along the coast to Guernsey Pearl and the Asterix
Wreck. Here you will find locally cultured pearls and
jewellery, while next door lies Guernsey's Roman ship –
believed to be one of only two of its type surviving. Just
across the road you can discover more about those
who have lost their lives at sea at the Fort Grey
Shipwreck Museum.
10AM – EXPLORING THE COBBLES
Start with a wander around the narrow lanes of St
Peter Port, home to many of Guernsey’s fascinating
museums, including Castle Cornet which has guarded
the island for 800 years. Continue inland to Hauteville
House, where you can follow in the footsteps of French
author, Victor Hugo. He fell in love with the island
after moving here in 1855 and wrote Les Misérables.
6PM – AYE AYE CAPTAIN
Venture back inland to Pirate Bay Adventure Golf –
Guernsey’s new premier attraction. Based at The Golf
Club at St Pierre Park Hotel, players tackle an array of
challenges, including water and moving obstacles. Or
why not try your hand at the state-of-the-art driving
range with 14 floodlit and heated bays, as well as ball
tracking table service from the nearby 19 Bar and Grill?
1PM – FEELING PECKISH
Stop off at the weekly farmers' market where you can
pick up golden-yellow Guernsey butter, succulent steaks
from the Meadow Court Farm stall and homemade
Guernsey Gâche and biscuits. Or why not indulge in
some locally-sourced cuisine at The Imperial Hotel?
Nestled in the south-western part of Guernsey, knock
back a glass of local Rocquettes cider while enjoying
the hotel’s unbeatable views of Rocquaine Bay.
8PM – WINE AND DINE
For one of the newest additions on the local cuisine
scene, head to The Slaughterhouse. As the name
would suggest, it serves a whole host of delicious
meat dishes, while there are also vegetarian and vegan
options on its diverse menu. Housed in the island’s
old slaughterhouse, on St Peter Port’s Castle Pier,
it is a unique venue featuring two outdoor seating
areas and bars, as well as an indoor restaurant.
