OF EVENTS INCLUDES:
TOUR – OCCUPATION TOUR
EXHIBITION – PRIAULX LIBRARY
UNDER GERMAN RULE
Daily 30 March-10 May
This exhibition at the Priaulx Library reflects the
German Occupation through the perspective of
personal accounts, including Red Cross letters and
GUNS (Guernsey Underground News Service) news
sheets. Also features the life and career of Ralph
Durand, Chief Librarian of the Priaulx Library (1927-45).
Mr Durand placed copies of GUNS in reference books
at the Library. His book 'Guernsey under German Rule'
was released in 1946 but, sadly, the publication was
posthumous as Mr Durand died on 22 December 1945.
AFTERNOON TEA – CHILDREN OF
THE OCCUPATION
2pm 15 April
Join social historian and Evacuee Community
Group Leader Gillian Mawson for afternoon tea and
conversation in the eclectic surroundings of the
Duke of Richmond Hotel as she talks about the life
of Guernsey evacuees as they travelled to Stockport
also bring along duplicates of wartime papers and
