BUTTERFIELD SUPPORTS
ENVELOPE CAMPAIGN
FOR WE ALL MATTER, EH?
The winning entries of a competition to encourage people
to think differently about disability have been unveiled.
Thought-provoking designs from children and adults
have been selected to feature on 30,000 envelopes
being sent to local homes and businesses as part of
the We All Matter, Eh? Think Differently About Disability
campaign, which is supported by Butterfield.
‘We planned to have three winners, with each design being
printed on 10,000 envelopes. But we were so impressed
by the dozens of entries that we chose 12 winners in the
end,’ said GDA Executive Director Karen Blanchford.
Six winning designs appeared on 5,000 envelopes
each and a further six were displayed at a mini art
exhibition in the Market buildings in St Peter Port.
‘Disability is diverse, we want to take an active part in
the community and the art demonstrates this. Take a
beautiful watercolour by Bel at Greenacres Dementia
Home or 17-year-old Teah with Down Syndrome
taking her first driving lesson, which is an example of
achieving everyday life goals,’ added Ms Blanchford.
As well as changing attitudes to disability, the envelopes –
delivered by Guernsey Post – are raising money for GDA’s
and We All Matter, Eh? projects.
‘All of the entries were inspiring. Each of them in their own way,
highlights the importance of accessibility on the island, while also
offering positive images around disability. Butterfield is proud to
have supported this competition, and congratulations to everyone
who entered and all of the winners,’ said Colleen McHugh, Head
of Wealth Management at Butterfield Bank (Guernsey) Limited.
‘EACH OF THEM IN THEIR
OWN WAY, HIGHLIGHTS
THE IMPORTANCE OF
ACCESSIBILITY ON THE
ISLAND, WHILE ALSO
OFFERING POSITIVE IMAGES
AROUND DISABILITY.’
