For James and Jessica, Concept
360 being a family business is one
of its most important qualities. ‘It’s
a great pleasure to be able to work
with family and we project these
values within the team. We take
steps to foster a special kind of
trust that enables us to accomplish
a great deal, every employee is
part of the family, having close
personal ties to the company and
staff can inspire anyone to work
that much harder,’ said James.
‘In running and owning a family
company we of course have
vested interests in the business
and our futures, which means that
our family is close, but as expected
siblings fight – it has been known
for a few pens to be thrown across
the office. But don’t fear, we’re
great friends again moments later.’

AND ADAPT TO OUR
INCREASING CLIENT
BASE,’ SAID JESSICA
Like any business, Concept 360
has had to adapt to advances in
technology, said James. ‘In our
industry, we have to ensure we are
up-to-date with the latest home
technologies and eco-friendly
solutions. We do this by regularly
liaising with our suppliers, partners
and contacts and attending
the large UK home shows. As
with any business, we utilise
technology in all areas, which
provides maximum efficiency,
security and structure,’ he said.
James believes technology has
been one of the biggest factors
that has had a positive impact
on the construction industry.
‘The increase in more advanced
equipment has revolutionised
the way we work. Gone are
the days when everything was
calculated by hand. Computers
calculate the cost and amount
of materials we require. If one
detail is changed it used to mean
hours of work, however a simple
click of a button and everything
is recalculated for you. Shipping
has also improved; we now have
the capability to bring more
varied stock and specialised
items over at reasonable and
comparable costs,’ he said.
James puts the success of
Concept 360 down to the quality
of the team. ‘Having a great
team working on your project is
essential, for both the best results
and your own peace of mind,
knowing that you’re putting your
home and one of your biggest
investments in the right hands.
We also pride ourselves on
adhering to the UK regulations
(CDM 2015).’ Only recently
the company moved into a
larger warehouse to house
plant machinery, tools, and
equipment to accommodate
jobs of all shapes and sizes with
further plans in the future.
In terms of its challenges, the
rapid growth of the business
has been something James and
Jessica have had to manage
carefully. ‘We found that demand
for our products and services
skyrocketed and the company
needed to grow and adapt to our
increasing client base,’ said Jessica.
‘Any successful start-up company
will go through an expansion
phase; this transformation is a
profound one. Being prepared
for growth is vital to success.’
Transplants from the UK, James
and Jessica are proud to call
Guernsey home and do business
here. ‘The island’s compact size
is a massive advantage when
it comes to business for us as
the close proximity means high
efficiency and less traffic. Word
of mouth is powerful and we are
thankful for the many referrals
from previous jobs,’ said Jessica.
The duo hopes to continue
to progress as a company,
successfully taking on jobs of all
sizes, from plumbing call outs to
full renovations for years to come.
