EDUCATION<br />
<strong>Haven</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Rest</strong> provides educational<br />
opportunities at the orphanages in Kenya and Uganda. A young boy who found<br />
refuge at the orphanage with his family is now aspiring to become an engineer.<br />
We have provided protection and shelter fo<br />
many families and children including a little boy name Matthew. As a baby, he was<br />
brought to the orphanage after his mother rescued him from his family who sought<br />
to harm him, as he was born out <strong>of</strong> incest. Matthew is now a thriving three year old.<br />
PROTECTION
<strong>Haven</strong> Of <strong>Rest</strong> has worked with many pr<strong>of</strong>essionals, providing physiotherapy and<br />
care. A child brought to the Ugandan orphanage received speech therapy and<br />
physio after enduring abuse and long term neglect from her father, who used to<br />
leave her home alone while he went to work to sustain the family, as a single father<br />
She is now learning to speak and walk.<br />
and therapy for communities in Kenya and Uganda. A young girl, from a well to<br />
do family, was picked up from the Kenyan streets. She was a runaway who had<br />
been abused by her uncle. She is now enrolled in school and receiving<br />
rehabilitation and care at the orphanage<br />

gangster friends! They were rescued from destructive, empty lifestyles, living on the<br />
streets <strong>of</strong> Uganda. They were changed from dangerous, killer - gangs to gangstersfor-Christ.<br />

AWARENESS SESSIONS<br />
HEALTH<br />
<strong>Haven</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Rest</strong> promotes health and wellness among the young and old in the<br />
community. Much medical equipment, including blood pressure equipment, medication,<br />
blood glucose monitors, and syringe drivers, were donated.<br />
Medical practitioners who traveled with HoR collaborated with local qualified doctors<br />
and nurses to facilitate a free medical consultation for individuals & families that drop<br />
by at the clinic. Hundreds were seen and treated successfully within the two days <strong>of</strong><br />
patient care at Mercy clinics.
