The Green Dragon has a target to reach 250,000 children by 2023 and give them first-hand experiences of the great outdoors that they may not otherwise have. Educational visits are tailormade to suit the learning needs and objectives of each group and follow the seasons to make the most of the natural resources available on the Farm. Roadshow experiences are also delivered, where a selection of the animals is taken into schools and other venues. The new Reserve will be integrated into their successful schools’ programme that is aligned to the latest curriculum guidelines covering horticulture, agriculture, farming, pets and food provenance. They will develop their Children’s Partnership Programme to widen the appeal of the Farm and inspire a broader range of children, forging links with charities, specialist schools, as well as college and university students. Ray Marzec, owner said: ‘We want to diversify our Farm, enabling more people to learn about and enjoy the natural environment and the animals that live in it. The new Reserve will follow our Farm’s ethos of conservation and sustainability and we will continue to promote healthier lifestyles through recreation, education and social play.’ Christmas card Competition Winners!
