Over the past week the
high school and our
primary have already
begun with their final
examination. This will
bring our 2017 activities
to a close in order for all
our learners to focus on
their final exams. I would
like to wish our learners
all of the best during the
final exams.
We
celebrated
our learners’ 2017
achievements during the
respective prize giving
ceremonies and I would
like to congratulate
all the recipients of
certificates, trophies
and special awards. The
achievements of our
learners in all areas of
school life pays testimony
to the hard work of
all involved. The cooperation
and dedication
between parent, teacher/
coach and learner is
paramount on our road to
be the school of choice in
our area.
As the year draws to a
close new challenges
and adventure lies
ahead with the high
school’s relocation to
the new premises at
Pebble Rock Estate. We
are currently doing our
planning regarding the
moving of the school
to the new venue. In a
separate letter I will set
out the programme for
the opening of our school
(Primary and High school)
in 2018.
We are going to end our
year on a high note as
our staff will be taking the
stage to entertain learners
and parents before the
school closes. The staff
concert will take place on
28, 29 and 30 November
2017 and more detail will
follow shortly.

HIGHSCHOOL HAPPENINGS
Dear Parent/Guardian
The final stretch is upon
us with the starting of
the exams. Thankfully,
with proper planning,
we anticipated the
challenges we would face
in regards to the strikes
(Black Monday and the
taxi strikes) that blocked
access to the school.
All our learners still
received the opportunity
to write and complete
their respective question
papers.
It is a very important time
of year for our learners
and I want to thank the
staff for the calm way
in which they dealt with
these challenges.
After an amazing
valediction and a jawdropping
speech from
one of our own, Lourenço
Marques, the Grade 12
learners were set for the
final part of their school
journey and we wish them
well. Congratulations to
every award recipient
and especially our Dux
Scholar for 2017, Kiana
Venter.
After attending the sport
and culture prize giving, I
can really appreciate the
versatility of our learners.
The evening wasn’t just a
celebration of excellence,
but of service to the
school and motivation to
our fellow learners for the
years to come.
Gratitude to all the parents
that attended these
functions shared in these
accolades. Remember,
it is the culmination of
our alliance that was
celebrated.
I am familiar with the
constant in most of the
households this time of
year, when you have to
tell your child to study
and stay off their phones
as well as the struggle to
keep on replenishing the
fridge. We will be praying
with you.

Year-end exams are
that time of year we are
looking forward to, as it
indicates the end of a
busy year (and it means
downhill towards the
sea holiday).
On the other hand it
means limited play time
and hours in front of
your books.
Good luck to all our
learners with your final
exam for 2017!
And so we are getting
closer the end of a busy,
yet successful 2017
school year… Thank
you for your support
throughout the year in
all activities. Without
parents like you all our
successes would not
have been possible!

during the first week of
December.

MUSIC
Our piano, guitar, recorder,
drumming and singing learners
made the audience proud on 31
October at the Celebration of Music
concert in the school hall.
The evening was divided into
two variety-filled sessions, due
to the large group of 71 musical
participants, aged 4 to 16.
It was a splendid display of talent
combined with hard work.
Both sessions were introduced
by the music teachers performing
Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty, with
Martie Viljoen on saxophone, Maxine
Roberts and Antoinette Schreuder
on piano, and Ryno Olivier on drums.
An exciting prize giving concluded
each session.
Congratulations to each music
learner’s skilful performance at the
concert and musical achievements
during 2017! May you continue to
grow through the celebration of
music!
