After ten years abroad, Catherine returns
to Luxembourg to catch up with her
daughter Alba, who has been brought up
by Catherine’s mother Elisabeth. Alba is
cold and distant with this stranger who
shows up suddenly in her life, and so
is Elisabeth, keen to keep her protegee
to herself. When she cannot take it
anymore, Catherine ‘kidnaps’ Alba and
takes her on a trip to a lake up North. The
unsettling journey into the puzzling world
of motherly love leads to the realization
that she might be her own worst enemy.
