MESSAGE
I am happy to learn that the 48th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI, 2017) is being
organised from November 20-28, 2017 at Goa. IFFI promotes friendship and cooperation among
countries by serving as a platform for filmmakers, academicians, actors, students and film enthusiasts
from around the globe to connect, collaborate, exchange ideas and gain memorable experiences.
Owing to the universal appeal of cinema, it can be used as one of the most powerful mediums to
transcend boundaries, promote cultural exchange and encourage friendly ties among different nations
by showcasing films that portray their social and cultural ethos. I extend my greetings and felicitations
to all those associated with the 48th IFFI, 2017 and wish their endeavours every success.
