Craig Mann
Craig Mann is a re-recording Mixer in Los Angeles, California.
With over 15 years of sound industry experience under his
belt, Craig’s work can be heard on a number of blockbusters,
including Insidious, Eye In The Sky, Marshall, Annabelle:
Creation, Dope and Gold starring Matthew McConaughey. He
was recently awarded an AMPS award for Best Sound in a
Feature Film, a Satellite Award for Best Sound, a BAFTA for
Best Sound and an Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing for
the film Whiplash.
After completing the Music Engineering program on Music
Industry Arts from Fanshawe College in London Ontario, Craig
was hired at Sound Ideas, where he began recording and editing
sound effects. While working there, sound for film aroused his
interest, and he joined Casablanca Sound in Toronto. There,
he worked as an assistant to several of the top re-recording
mixers in Canada. After five years there, an opportunity arose
to tour several sound facilities in Los Angeles. Craig realized
that moving to the next level would involve a change of venue.
He relocated to Santa Monica and was hired at Todd-AO. Over
the next eight years, Craig served as an apprentice for several
world-renowned re-recording mixers, soon taking the leap into
mixing himself in 2009.
Discovering new ways to utilize sound to help bring filmmakers’
vision to the screen is what Craig loves most about his job.
