Transportation & Lodging
Getting around town:

By Bus: Local buses and songthaew, run throughout the day
and are an excellent way to enter into or out of Krabi Town.
There are regular stops, however you can hop on or off almost
anywhere. Similarly, if you’re not close to a bus stop, you can
stand by the side of the road and flag one down, like a taxi.
By Taxi: Regular taxis, which people often hire as a ‘car and
driver/guide’ on a daily basis for around 2500 Baht, depending
on where you wish to go.
By Longtail boat: Planning a day out at sea? Traditional
wooden longtail boats are found on all mainland beaches.
This is the best option for independent island hopping. There
are also frequent taxi boats operating from Ao Nang to Ton Sai
and Railay Beach.
Transportation & Lodging
Getting around town:

By Train: Bangkok has a wonderful metro system. The BTS (Sky train)
or underground MRT (mass rapid transit) system are the fastest most
economical way to connect to the main shopping, entertainment,
and business areas of the city. A one day pass will allow you
unlimited travel for 24 hours from the time of purchase. You can
purchase a day pass at the transit station for 150 baht.
By River taxi: River taxis and express boats are used to explore
many historic sites and attractions at the riverside. You can pick up
a river taxi at Saphan Taksin station on the BTS. This is a great way to
hop on and hop off the river boat to view famous attractions such
as the Wat Pho or the Grand Palace.
Grab Taxi – Southeast Asia’s largest mobile taxi booking app.
Please keep in mind the traffic in Bangkok can be horrific. Taking
taxis around the city could take a numerous amount of time out of
your travel plans and it can be quite costly. Please keep in mind
that Uber is technically not legal in Thailand and you could
get pulled over by local police and fined. Grab is Asia’s
version of Uber.
