DDLBA - Last week saw the Downs District
hosting a visit from the Burnett District. What a
happy crowd of mixed bowlers they were, with
lots of laughter on and off the green.
Thank you to the two host clubs, Drayton and
Toowoomba for your hospitality and friendship
towards our visitors.
Thanks also to the Downs clubs that availed
themselves of the opportunity to play against
another district in a friendly game of bowls.

November 13-14 - DDLBA two-day carnival
is being held this week, the first day at West
Toowoomba, the second at Drayton. Good bowling
to all those who have nominated for this event.

notes with photos and winners.
November 27 - The DDLBA past president's
lunch has now been cancelled. A get together is

CROWS NEST LADIES: There was no winner
at last week's game due to a switched pairs
combination. This occurs when some players can
only play in the first session and some only in the
second session. This is also good news for any
new or experienced bowlers.
Our current format for Tuesday is two games
by 10 ends. So if you can make it by 12.15pm
and need to pick up children you can just play the
first session. Or if you work and finish early then
you can join us around 3pm. If you have never
played before you are also welcome and coaching
is freely provided.
There will be no bowls this Thursday, November
16, due to several members absent on this day.

at the end of play. The game went for a little over an hour and is played under lights at the
Crows Nest Bowls Club each Tuesday starting at 6.30. The green fee is $5 per player, and the
burgers are cooked and ready by about 6pm. The drinks are always cold, and the company is
friendly and lively. So come along as a team of three, or just turn up on your own, on any Tuesday
night until November 28 and you’re sure to have a good time. Complimentary continuous
tea and coffee is also on hand, and a nightly raffle is also worth a ticket or two. Contact Gary

Bowls Club with 28 teams competing over the
two days in prestige mixed pairs Competition.
Teams travelled from as far away as Ballina, Taroom,
Emerald, Chinchilla, Dalby, Brisbane, Gold
and Sunshine Coast to try for the prize monies on
offer.

Nights under lights community bowls is on
every Tuesday evening until November 28 with
bowls starts at 6.30pm and wrapping up by about
8. Hamburgers are available from 6pm onward,
with complimentary continuous coffee and tea on
hand until we close. Green fees are $5 each and
the juicy burgers are priced the same. Winners'
prizes are drawn out of the hat, so everybody’s
a chance to take home something. Come along,
bring a friend, make up a triples team and visit us
on a Tuesday night soon.
