yamsion reunion pictorial
Photos by MILES NOLLER - Continued from last week
ABOVE: The Yamsion
cheese factory was built in
1927 on land bought from
Ardie Koehler by the Maclagan
Valley Co-operative,
almost opposite the Lutheran
Church. In the early 1930s
local farmers bought the
cheese factory which was operated
until 1957. The Yamsion
Hall was built in 1955
and improved and extended
over the years. It is the only
remaining functioning civic
building at Yamsion. The
Lutheran church which was
opened in 1922 closed in
1967, the same year that the
Yamsion School also closed.
