When should I have my senior photos taken? Living in East Texas, the heat is a major factor in this<br />
decision. Fall and early spring are the best times to take outdoor portraits. However, very early mornings can be<br />
done during the summertime. Booking sooner gives you a much better chance to have them done exactly when<br />
you want.<br />
How long is this going to take? Usually 1-2 hours within the booked session time, we shoot until we “get the<br />
shot,” until we aren’t having fun anymore, or most commonly, we are so happily tired that we can’t move<br />
another inch.<br />
Can I bring someone with me on the shoot? Of course! Bring mom, dad, friend or anyone else who is<br />
important to you. General rule is...bring whoever you need to make you be most YOU.<br />
How do you pick the style or location where you shoot? The location is decided depending on the style<br />
and look you are after. Of course you can request a location. Feel free to email me photos of suggested<br />
locations, I love new places! My locations are near White Oak (within 20 mile radius), travel fees apply other<br />
areas. Areas frequently used are downtown Longview and Kilgore, Synergy Park, Maude Cobb, and a few fields I<br />
have permission to use.<br />
I’ve seen photos online that I like – can we try something like that? Feel free to send me links...this<br />
tells me a lot about your style and the direction you want to go. I love getting new inspiration!

Props?<br />
Portraits taken with items that tell about your individual hobbies and<br />
interests personalize your pictures. For example, if you are into football,<br />
you could bring your jerseys, jacket, football, helmet, and anything else<br />
that is related to the activity. If you play music, you could bring your<br />
instrument. Well behaved pets are wonderful to incorporate in your photos!<br />
Anything you feel may be fun and unique to use like a special chair. If you<br />
are not sure about whether or not to bring something, keep in mind that<br />
we don’t have to use it, but at least we will have the option.

Makeup<br />
Go slightly brighter/heavier on your cheeks, eyes,<br />
and lips than you normally would. Make-up tends<br />
to look much more toned down in photos so in<br />
order for it to look like you are wearing any at all<br />
you need to go slightly heavier and colors that<br />
have a tiny bit more pop. Avoid glittery, shiny, or<br />
frosted products.<br />
Bring items necessary to do a touch up when<br />
needed (face powder, lipstick, etc.).<br />
Grooming-Guys<br />
Guys, please shave carefully before your<br />
session. Ask someone to check if you missed any<br />
spots! Remember to trim up your neck area,<br />
too.<br />
Hands<br />
Hands and nails should be clean and neatly<br />
groomed. Please check for chipping nail polish or<br />
dirt under the nails.<br />
Blemishes<br />
Do not be concerned with blemish. These are<br />
easy to touched up.<br />
Hair<br />
Be sure to bring a comb or a brush to touch up<br />
your hair. Guys getting a fresh haircut, you may<br />
want to get it at least a few days prior to the<br />
session.
What to Wear<br />
Plan Ahead<br />
Don’t get up the morning of your senior portrait session and grab whatever crawls out from<br />
under the bed. Or simply whatever happens to be clean. You’re only going to have senior<br />
pictures done once, so take some time to plan. Girls, help minimize bra straps. Bring the<br />
appropriate type of bra for each outfit.<br />
Check for wrinkles!!!<br />
Iron anything that needs it and keep it hung up nicely before the session.<br />
If you have pets, please use a lint roller if needed.
Variety<br />
Bring a variety of different looks. Most<br />
seniors bring 2-3 outfits.<br />
A portable dressing room will be available.<br />
Try Avoiding<br />
Solids<br />
• Shiny, reflective, NEON fabrics<br />
• Plaids, loud prints, large patterns, stripes<br />
• Logos, shirts with advertising, oversized<br />
clothing<br />
• Colors that are similar to your skin tone,<br />
they will wash you out<br />
Solid colors photograph better than<br />
patterns. Patterns take the eye of the<br />
viewer away from the face and to the<br />
clothing. You do not want to be in<br />
competition with your clothes in the photo.<br />
The first thing people notice should be you.<br />
Accessories<br />
Jackets, hats, scarves, sunglasses, jewelry,<br />
etc. All help pull an outfit together. Think<br />
of layering your outfits with sweaters,<br />
jackets, or scarves

Edit<br />
Some photos benefit from artistic enhancements. Sunsets, lens flares, or<br />
seasonal leaf changes may be done to give the image a stunning finish.<br />
Basic portrait enhancements will be made by teeth whitening, brightening<br />
eyes, removing blemishes, softening skin, skin tone, removing small stray<br />
hairs, and smoothing shadows under the eyes if needed.<br />

After the Session<br />
-Proofing-<br />
Proof images have very little to no<br />
adjustments made. These are not the<br />
edited final Gallery images you will order<br />
from. A favorites collection will need to be<br />
made. The number of favorites will be the<br />
number of Gallery images in your package.<br />
When complete click My Selection in the<br />
upper left corner to narrow down, then<br />
click the send to button in the left corner.<br />
Fill out the info and click share. It will send<br />
to photographer. When received, a final<br />
edit will be done and your Gallery will be<br />
created.<br />
-Digital Downloads-<br />
If your package includes files, these can be<br />
accessed from your gallery. Send me the<br />
desired image list and I will enable the<br />
links.<br />
-Client Access code-<br />
Galleries can also be accessed from the<br />
home page using the client’s first and last<br />
name, no space. janedoe<br />
-Gallery Expiration-<br />
Galleries will expire one year after photo<br />
event and files will be deleted. Purchases<br />
or downloads (if included in package) will<br />
need to be made prior. If you need more<br />
time please let me know and it will be<br />
extended.
