When you use <strong>Safe</strong> mode troubleshoot option for W<strong>in</strong>dows, the computer starts <strong>in</strong> a<br />

limited state. Only the necessary basic files and drivers will start <strong>to</strong> run W<strong>in</strong>dows.<br />

<strong>to</strong> start such programs, drivers or W<strong>in</strong>dows correctly. So, <strong>to</strong> use it on your system,<br />

follow the below-mentioned steps carefully:<br />

If W<strong>in</strong>dows 7 is <strong>in</strong>stalled on your system, use the follow<strong>in</strong>g steps:<br />

a. Use the comb<strong>in</strong>ation of W<strong>in</strong>dows + R key on your system.<br />

b. Eter msconfig i the dialog bo.<br />

c. Click on <strong>Boot</strong> tab.<br />

d. Now click on the option of <strong>Safe</strong> <strong>Boot</strong> and hit the Apply but<strong>to</strong>n.<br />

e. To apply the changes hit the restart but<strong>to</strong>n when the System Configuration<br />

w<strong>in</strong>dow will pop up.<br />

You can also use the alternative method for boot<strong>in</strong>g your system by us<strong>in</strong>g the F8<br />

method:<br />

a. Restart your system first.<br />

b. A list of your sste’s hardware will appear whe the lap<strong>to</strong>p will start.<br />

Repeatedly press the f8 key on your keyboard until the W<strong>in</strong>dows 7 Advanced <strong>Boot</strong><br />

Options Screen appears.<br />

c. Select the <strong>Safe</strong> <strong>Mode</strong> option us<strong>in</strong>g the arrow keys.<br />

d. Hit the Enter key on your keyboard <strong>to</strong> boot <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> <strong>Safe</strong> <strong>Mode</strong>.<br />

e. Do whatever steps need <strong>to</strong> be taken, and when you are f<strong>in</strong>ished with all the<br />

important steps, reboot <strong>to</strong> set <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> normal mode.


Use the follow<strong>in</strong>g steps, if you are a W<strong>in</strong>dows 8 user:<br />

a. To open sett<strong>in</strong>gs use the W<strong>in</strong>dows logo key + I or Select the start but<strong>to</strong>n <strong>in</strong> the lower-left corner of the screen <strong>to</strong> go <strong>to</strong><br />

sett<strong>in</strong>gs.<br />

b. Click on Update * Security and choose Recovery.<br />

c. Click on Restart now under the Advanced Startup.<br />

d. When the PC restarts, you will see an option screen here click on Troubleshoot.<br />

e. Select Advanced options > Startup Sett<strong>in</strong>gs > Restart.<br />

f. Now use the 4 or F4 screen <strong>to</strong> start the PC <strong>in</strong> safe mode.<br />
