Conduril - Engenharia, S.A. was <strong>in</strong>corporated <strong>in</strong> 1959 as a limited company,<br />

anonymous society <strong>in</strong> 1976. It is a publicly traded organization, with social capital<br />

of 10 million Euros, represented by shares on the Portuguese Securities Market<br />

and has expanded its activities with branches <strong>in</strong> Angola, Mozambique, Morocco,<br />

Botswana, Cape Verde, Spa<strong>in</strong>, Malawi, Senegal, Zambia, Gabon and South Africa.<br />

The persons <strong>in</strong> charge <strong>in</strong> each of these countries are members of the Board of<br />

Directors.

In the countries where it currently operates,<br />

CONDURIL, S.A. has at its disposal a<br />

work<strong>for</strong>ce of 2,786 employees. From those,<br />

90% are sourced from the local populations<br />

and the rema<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g 10% are expatriate<br />

workers, be<strong>in</strong>g specialized workers and<br />

supervision.<br />

The improvement of technical skills with<strong>in</strong><br />

the company and the social responsibilities<br />

carried out by CONDURIL reflect the<br />

company's recognition of the value of its<br />

human capital. As a demonstration of the<br />

company's commitment to cont<strong>in</strong>uous<br />

tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, thousands of workers have already<br />

been given extensive tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, hav<strong>in</strong>g even<br />

been created the CONDURIL ACADEMY<br />

project, both <strong>in</strong> Angola and Mozambique.<br />

This professional development by CONDURIL<br />

represents an <strong>in</strong>vestment of more than six<br />

hundred thousand Euros per year.<br />

The constitution of the Pension Fund<br />

Conduril, <strong>in</strong> December 1989, is a further<br />

reflection the social and human side of the<br />

company, an <strong>in</strong>delible part of the CONDURIL<br />

policy. This fund is fully supported and<br />

f<strong>in</strong>anced by the Company, and reflected <strong>in</strong><br />

2016 a value of 8.2 million Euros.

Established <strong>in</strong> 2009, Conduril Academy - Center<br />

<strong>for</strong> Vocational Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Civil Construction and<br />

Public Works - is today recognized as a center of<br />

excellence <strong>in</strong> Angola and <strong>in</strong> Mozambique.<br />

It is an accredited <strong>in</strong>stitution, officially<br />

recognized by the bodies responsible <strong>for</strong><br />

vocational tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> these two countries and<br />

f<strong>in</strong>anced entirely by Conduril Engenharia S.A.<br />

Despite not receiv<strong>in</strong>g any governmental subsidy<br />

or f<strong>in</strong>ancial support, the Conduril Academy, <strong>in</strong><br />

close and permanent collaboration with<br />

Angola's M<strong>in</strong>istry of Education and Mozambique,<br />

cont<strong>in</strong>ues to serve as a provider of the process<br />

of literacy and school acceleration of its<br />

employees.<br />

The mission of the Conduril Academy is to<br />

provide vocational tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>for</strong> all employees of<br />

the Conduril Group <strong>in</strong> Angola and Mozambique,<br />

and simultaneously collaborate <strong>in</strong> the<br />

improvement of literacy of its employees, thus<br />

contribut<strong>in</strong>g to improve the quality of life at<br />

both local and national level.<br />

Because we believe that education is the<br />

fundamental element <strong>for</strong> economic<br />

development and social improvement, the<br />

Conduril Academy plays a def<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g role <strong>in</strong><br />

further<strong>in</strong>g both the policies of CONDURIL and its<br />

contribution to the society to which it belongs.

S<strong>in</strong>ce 2011, we highlight the positive development of literacy <strong>in</strong> the world of<br />

CONDURIL workers <strong>in</strong> Angola. There was a reduction from 24% <strong>in</strong> 2011 to 3% <strong>in</strong><br />

Illiteracy rate <strong>in</strong> Conduril Angola falls 22 percentage po<strong>in</strong>ts <strong>in</strong> 6 years. Currently, the illiteracy rate is<br />

estimated at 3% (21 people). In 2011, this <strong>in</strong>dicator had been of 24%, equivalent to 314 illiterate<br />

3rd Prize of the National Literacy Prize 2013, awarded by the Eduardo dos Santos<br />

Foundation, M<strong>in</strong>istry of Education, and the National Commission of UNESCO.<br />

Conduril Academy was selected to represent Angola <strong>in</strong> the International Literacy<br />

Prize of UNESCO <strong>in</strong> both 2013 and 2015.<br />

Honorable mention awarded by UNESCO, recogniz<strong>in</strong>g the work carried out <strong>in</strong> the<br />

sector of Education, on the occasion of the UNESCO International Literacy Prize<br />

2015.
