Peshtigo<br />
I n 1871 America’s most devastating fire swept through the Peshtigo area, killing over<br />
1200 people. Rising from the ashes, today people know Peshtigo for its numerous outdoor<br />
and recreational opportunities. Nearly every type of business, office and shop can be<br />
found in or around the City of Peshtigo. Peshtigo has seen many new faces in recent years<br />
as people realize the value of pride, devotion and hard work, and the direct effect these<br />
attributes have on a community.<br />
From the Peshtigo River and all that it offers, to a multitude of parks, campgrounds, and<br />
seasonal activities across the region, the Peshtigo area has something for everyone's<br />
recreational desires. Located in the center of Peshtigo is Badger Park, a multi-use 57-acre<br />
park and campground with a band shell, forest walking trails and two pavilions. Peshtigo<br />
has grown to be one of the most aggressive small communities in Northeast Wisconsin.<br />
