From a technical standpoint, Inner Range’s
Integriti Encrypted High Security system offers
end-to-end encryption of access control and
alarm points, in turn providing many features
previously required by installations in the high
security sector at an affordable cost.
Fundamentally, the Encrypted High Security
system includes encrypted communications
from sensor to controller and on to keypad and
reader. Up until now, organisations requiring
encryption of all parts of an integrated access
and security system had very limited choices.
The way in which Inner Range’s Encrypted
High Security system works is that the
company’s End of Line Modules (ELM) are
embedded into third party PIRs, reed switches
or other security-related input devices. The ELM
is wired into such an input device, handles
tamper and alarm conditions and connects via
an encrypted RS-485 serial connection to a
special Encrypted High Security expander. Bus
data and the expander to the control module
are encrypted to AES-128, as are comms from
control module to keypad.
SIFER readers provided by Inner Range for
access control also offer encryption at this level
from credential to reader and on to controller.
Suite of products
The Integriti Encrypted High Security system
consists of a suite of products which, taken
together, provide all the elements necessary to
build a fully-integrated high security system
that provides complete end-to-end data
encryption. The Integriti range of products
includes controllers, input expansion modules,
the aforementioned End of Line Modules,
keypads, card readers, power supplies and
equipment enclosures.
The system’s modular design provides scope
for expansion, while also boasting a hybrid
architecture. The hybrid architecture supports
both high security (ELMs) and standard
commercial grade (resistor network) areas at
the same facility at the same time. By ensuring
that budget allocations are made for the high
security zones only where necessary, the end
result is a single, holistic and affordable
security solution for the entire organisation.
Expansion of the Integriti system is achieved
by installing additional encrypted modules to
the high security controller’s RS-485 LAN, or by
adding additional controllers to the system. The
entire platform, including multiple controllers,
can be managed from the specialist Integriti
Enterprise software.
