A little hidden gem in the heart of Newcastle. I have been a frequent and returning visitor to
this restaurant , and it never fails to deliver good food, good service and a lovely
atmosphere. The food is mainly British Fair, with the element of posh dining without the
posh prices. There is an early set menu which is £18 (2 courses) £21 (3 courses). The cost of
drinks is about on par with most newcastle bars and restaurants. I have visited that often, I
have worked my way through the menu, and can safely say there has been nothing I did not
enjoy. I have even been for Sunday Lunch, which was First Class (and I am the queen of
eating out for Sunday Lunch)
Take out Roast dinner from the Queen Vic South Shields. I'd been to Carl's carvery and the
cyprus prior and they were not serving carvery today because of the run! Dinner was
absolutely lush. I had gammon and roast beef, the cauliflower cheese is possibly the best I
have ever tasted.they only do adult lunches as take out as it's one size tub mind Carl's
carvery only have one size tub but still let you have kids. I often get a kids portion for take
out as I m not a big eater especially hungover. Well worth the £6.95 if you have a big
appetite.
