Signature Book Publishing
Firmly establishing itself as a leading producer of personalised books,
Signature book publishing believes that children are never too
young to love reading. Their main aim with the unique books they
create is to encourage children to have fun reading. Younger children
can sometimes find reading overwhelming, particularly when starting
school. Finding stories that kids will find engaging and fun is the key
to making sure they enjoy themselves. What better way is there to
encourage them than a book that is printed especially for them?
Each In The Book story, has your child’s name appearing in at least
one of three places; on the cover, hidden in illustrations, or within the
text. Reading personalised books with your child is a great way to
introduce the world of literature to them. Seeing their name spelled
out in icing on cakes, written in the stars, in trees and on buses, as
they read through the story gives young children a sense of delightful
mystery in a world that belongs to them.
Guide
LEGO Ninjago Movie
A new animated adventure in Warner Bros. Pictures’ LEGO franchise is in cinemas on 13
October. The LEGO Ninjago Movie, starring Jackie Chan, depicts the battle for Ninjago
City as it calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja. Crowds cheer
the Green Ninja as a hero, but when he takes his mask off people only see him as Lloyd,
the boy unfortunate enough
to be the son of The Worst
Guy Ever, Garmadon. It’s hard
for him to make friends or
get through the day because
Garmadon ruins everything,
but Lloyd still yearns to have
some sort of relationship
with his dad. Along with his
friends, who are all secret ninja warriors, and led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he
is wise, the team must defeat Garmadon. Pitting mech against mech and father against
son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas
who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their inner power of
Spinjitzu. For more information visit www.legoninjagomovie.com.
Paddington 2
Paddington is back on our screens on 10 November with Hugh Grant and
Brendan Gleeson joining the all-star returning cast including Hugh Bonneville,
Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Imelda Staunton and Peter Capaldi with Ben
Whishaw as the voice of Paddington.
The much-anticipated sequel fi nds Paddington
happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor
Gardens, where he has become a popular member
of the community, spreading joy and marmalade
wherever he goes. While searching for the perfect
present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s hundredth
birthday, Paddington spots a unique pop-up book
in Mr Gruber’s antique shop and embarks upon
a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book
is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns
to unmask the thief. Hugh Grant plays Windsor
Gardens’ local celebrity, Phoenix Buchanan, a vain,
charming acting legend whose star has fallen
somewhat in recent years. Brendan Gleeson plays “Knuckles” McGinty, a
notorious safe-cracker and legendary strongman who becomes an unexpected
new ally for Paddington. Will the nation’s much loved bear be able to recover
the stolen book?
My Little Pony: The Movie
Few animated characters inspire the love and loyalty of the colourful characters
from My Little Pony. There’s a timeless magic to the friendship of the ‘Mane 6’ -
Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Fluttershy, the
flying, frolicking and fearless foals who make a leap to the big screen in My Little
Pony: The Movie. A dark
force threatens Ponyville
and the ‘Mane 6’ embark
on an unforgettable
journey beyond Equestria
on a quest to use the
magic of friendship to
save their home. Joining
the ‘Mane 6’ are new and
exciting characters including Tempest Shadow - a conflicted and devious pony
unsure of her place in Equestria, Grubber - Tempest’s wise-cracking hedgehog
soldier with an endless appetite for tasty treats, Princess Skystar - a royal and
excitable pony longing for adventure, Captain Celaeno - a danger-courting
cockatoo and leader of a ragtag gang of adventurers and the rogue-ish and
charming Capper - a street cat who knows all the angles. My Little Pony: The
Movie will be released in cinemas on 6 October.
Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland
7:15pm At a garden party on a sunny afternoon,
Alice is surprised to see her parents’ friend Lewis
Carroll transform into a white rabbit. When she
follows him down a rabbit hole events become
curiouser and curiouser… Alice encounters a
cast of extraordinary and instantly recognizable
characters, from the highly strung queen of
hearts – who performs a hilarious send-up of
the sleeping beauty’s famous rose adage – to a
playing-card corps de ballet, a sinuous caterpillar
and a tap-dancing mad hatter. But the ballet
does not avoid the darker undercurrents of Lewis
Carroll’s story: a nightmarish kitchen, an eerily
disembodied Cheshire cat and the unhinged tea
party are all here in vivid detail. The royal ballet
brings together world-class dance with enchanting
family entertainment. To book
Did you know that in every primary school
class, an average of at least two children
have suffered abuse or neglect?
It is a shocking statistic but thanks to the
NSPCC’s Speak Out Stay Safe service,
children are being empowered to speak out
and seek help.
It delivers essential safeguarding
information to children aged four to 11 in a
lively, memorable way.
Child-friendly, interactive assemblies and
workshops teach children about abuse in
all its forms and how to spot the signs.
The service also helps children understand
who they can turn to for help, including the
NSPCC’s Childline service.
