Building Parks Together
3 Ways You Can Give Back
www.playmelbournefl.org
1
PARTICIPATE IN PICKETS FOR PARKS: Play Melbourne Parks & Recreation Department recently
launched the “Pickets for Parks” fundraising campaign for the City of Melbourne’s Riverview Park. The
program will give generous supporters and park lovers, like you, the chance to support improvements at
Riverview Park by purchasing a customized engraved picket ($100.00) for the fence surrounding the park’s new playground.
We hope you will join us in our revitalization efforts so that a community park will become a special place of
play once again for children and families from our region, and visiting guests. To make your contribution, visit www.
playmelbournefl.org and make your donation online.
ADOPT A PARK: The program provides opportunities for groups to help improve and maintain the City of
2 Melbourne’s 38 parks and allows area businesses, neighborhood groups, and concerned residents to make a
difference in the parks. It combines in-kind service with a financial contribution that helps offset the costs
of maintaining and improving the adopted park. The adopter efforts in our parks increases public awareness of the
importance of protecting our natural resources; generates pride in our park system; and demonstrates a commitment to
your community.
3
GET INVOLVED WITH MEMORIAL TREE & BENCH PROGRAM: The City of Melbourne Parks
Department has a unique memorial program that allows groups and individuals to donate trees or benches to
commemorate special events, honor individuals or agencies, or as memorials to loved ones to be placed on
City-owned park land. The gift of a tree is a lasting tribute that benefits the community and natural environment, and
memorial benches offer a unique remembrance of a loved one in one of Melbourne Parks’ many beautiful settings.
For additional information on the above options and/or to explore
additional sponsorship opportunities with the City of Melbourne, please contact
Meg Richey, Marketing & Development Administrator, at (321) 243-3314 or meaghan.richey@mlbfl.org.
