9 STEPS TO
QUIT SMOKING
FOR GOOD
by
Tess Kimble
Follow Us:
The benefits
o u t w e i g h
anything else
when you decide
to quit smoking.
Remember those advantages
as you apply helpful tips
like these. Use these tips
whenever you need to
until you finally succeed in
quitting for good.
1
It is not an easy feat to quit smoking. These 9 tips will help you plan your
program so you can kick the smoking habit for good.
LIST DOWN THE
PROS AND CONS
To increase your chances
of being successful in your
efforts to quit smoking,
consider writing out a list of
pros and cons of quitting.
When you go through
the tactile experience
and physical actions of
writing, your psychological
perspective is often shifted
in the process. It will help you
stay motivated and focused
on success, possibly making
quitting a little easier.
Issue 9 • October 2017
Instead of viewing quitting as a sacrifice,
think of it as a gift to yourself. You will
be able to quit smoking sooner and
remain smoke-free if you think positively
about quitting. Think of how it will
change your life, and that the benefits
of smoking are so important compared
to the few detriments. You will find your
motivations and have every reason to
quit immediately.
2
TRY THE DELAY TACTIC
If you need to smoke, try delaying it.
Set tasks that you commit to performing
before that cigarette, including small
things such as going on a walk or making a
fruit juice smoothie. Sometimes, delaying
smoking can help you resist smoking.
Should you still give in to the craving, forcing
yourself to wait the extra time may wind up
taking one cigarette off your daily total.
If you’re looking for info on how to stop the ringing in your ears, then these 9 tips will help you get up to
speed and avoid tinnitus.
3
CONSIDER GETTING HYPNOTHERAPY
Hypnosis is an effective tool to use when you quit smoking. Each year, thousands
of people utilize the services of licensed hypnotic therapists for help with their
smoking addiction. When you are under hypnosis, the hypnotist will fill your mind with
positive thoughts about giving up smoking. The effect is that smoking does not seem
so powerful and appealing once you awake from the trance. This makes quitting for
good much easier.
8 Issue 9 • October 2017

4
TAKE IT DAY BY DAY
You should treat quitting smoking
day-by-day. This is a process that could
take months before results are apparent.
Don’t waste your time thinking about
next year, next month, or even next
week. Make efforts on a daily basis
and focus on getting through each
day without smoking so that this new
habit becomes part of your lifestyle.
If your goal is to finally stop smoking, you
need to practice your skills at quitting.
Most people who try to quit will fail on the
first and second times. When you decide
to quit smoking, take it day by day. If you
do succumb to smoking again, you must
immediately set a new quit date. Just keep
quitting and go longer each time, learning
along the way. Each time you attempt
to quit smoking, you will develop new
tactics which will eventually enable you
to quit completely.
5
GET SOME GOOD REST
If you are trying to stop smoking,
see to it that you have plenty of rest. The
longer you stay up, the more cravings
you’ll face. Late nights tend to be a time
when no one is around, and it makes it
easier to be tempted to smoke. When you
get the rest you need, it is easier to focus
on your commitment to stop and resist
the temptation to give in to cravings.
6
JOIN A SUPPORT GROUP
Make sure you have a strong support
group of friends and family members,
when you decide to quit smoking. You
need to let them know that you want their
support, not their judgment. Also, warn
them that you may be bad-tempered in the
beginning and that your judgment may be
somewhat cloudy. Make sure that you have
support from close friends and loved ones
during your quitting process; this support
can come in handy as quitting is not easy.
7
DON’T GIVE IN TO
YOUR CRAVINGS
It is important to find ways to cope with
nicotine withdrawals, to keep from giving
in to your cravings and the stress they may
cause. Get some exercise when cravings
hit, engage in a hobby or teach your
partner to give a great massage. Identify
things you can do if you have unexpected
downtime. Read an engrossing book or
call a friend for example.
8
CREATE A REWARD
SYSTEM FOR YOURSELF
Treat yourself to something nice every
time you reach your preset goals. Develop
a list of different types of rewards
depending on the milestone that you hit
for extra motivation. Take the time to put
the list in a very visible spot and view it
daily. This will provide you with some
extra motivation, and it might just keep
you from caving in and smoking again.
9
MAKE A COMMITMENT AND QUIT IMMEDIATELY
Commit to quitting smoking before you begin figuring out how to do so. Many
people are not really ready to quit smoking, and that is why they ultimately fail. If you
begin to lose your motivation, remember the reasons for quitting in the first place.
The best advice you can get for quitting smoking is just to stop. Quitting immediately
will provide the best chance for optimal health in the future. Decide to stop and
don’t allow yourself to start again. This method can appear to be extremely difficult.
However, some studies show that quitting cold turkey can be the easiest way to quit.
You are probably aware of the many ways that stopping smoking can be of great benefit
to you. Though sometimes knowing the benefits is not enough to help you stop smoking,
that is where all of the tips that you have read will help you out. Apply the tips when you
need some extra motivation or when you are hit with a craving. You will be enjoying the
benefits of being a non-smoker before you know it.
13 THINGS YOU SHOULD
KNOW ABOUT EYE CARE
by
Matthew Dubose
Follow Us:
Eye care should be a priority for everyone. Read this article for some advice on
how to care for your eyes so you can keep them fresh and moist.
Maintaining sound care of your
own eyes is a great decision
to make. If you can’t see
well, it may be difficult to do
numerous things. Use the
advice from the following article for good
eye care tips. Read on to learn how to keep
your eyes fresh and moist.
1
KNOW YOUR FAMILY
MEDICAL HISTORY
Assess whether there is a history of
eye conditions within your family. This
will allow for early diagnosis. Some
conditions are hereditary and should
be taken into account. Becoming aware
of these conditions can help you seek
treatment earlier.
2
QUIT SMOKING NOW
Find a way to quit smoking if
you’re still one of the millions doing it.
Even though you may be aware of the
potential damage to your lungs, your
eyes are suffering, also. Smokers are
highly prone to eye damage. If you stop
smoking now, you greatly reduce your
chance of nerve damage and cataracts.
14 Issue 9 • October 2017

Stop smoking to increase the longevity of your
eye health. Smoking leads to several issues
including cataracts, optic nerve damage,
and macular degeneration. If you were not
successful in smoke cessation in the past,
try again. The more you try to stop smoking,
the more likely you are to be successful.
If you smoke, make every effort to stop.
Smoking affects your blood vessels in a
negative way, and that includes those
in your eye. Also, cataracts, macular
degeneration, and optic nerve issues are
all more likely. Try to cut back or quit
smoking to protect eyes.
If you’d like to avoid getting sick all the time then make sure you take the time to read these 7 tips on
how to juice your way to a healthy you.

3
SEE YOUR EYE DOCTOR REGULARLY
You must keep seeing your eye doctor for regular checkups. While you
need a checkup if you struggle with eye issues, some issues might not show
symptoms or show mild ones. During your eye exam, the doctor will check your
eyes for common problems. Many conditions are treatable if detected early.
You should have eye exams regularly to maintain great eye health. As you age, your
eyes should get looked at more often. Older people are more likely to develop glaucoma
or cataracts. A medical specialist paying close attention to your eye health will be able
to catch any issues, early.
4
WATCH OUT FOR
EXCESSIVE BLINKING
Blinking too often can be a sign you have
an eye issue. If your eyes are not dry, it
just may be the result of a nervous tic
you are experiencing. If this happens, try
to relax. If you can rule out that it is a tic,
consult an ophthalmologist.
5
WEAR GOOD SUNGLASSES
Sunglasses will let you not have
to deal with rays that are ultraviolet.
Find sunglasses that block out 100
percent of UVA and UVB rays. Consider
polarized lenses if you drive often.
They decrease glare. Lastly, even if you
are a contact lens wearer who gets
some protection from your lenses,
wearing sunglasses is still a good idea.
Sunglasses look great, but they are also
useful for protection. Sunglasses keep
those damaging UV rays away so that your
eyes stay healthy. You can get prescription
sunglasses or have Transitions lenses put
in your regular glasses.
6
USE EYE DROPS SPARINGLY
If you use eye drops to sooth your eyes
because allergens irritate them, you should
use them sparingly. While they do provide
relief, overusing them can cause other issues.
If eye drops do not soothe eyes enough, see
an eye care specialist for better treatments.
16 Issue 9 • October 2017

7
DISPOSE OF OLD COSMETICS
It is wise to ensure that any cosmetics
that may end up in contact with the eyes
are thrown out every 60 days. The reason is
that bacteria builds up when you keep the
same makeup. After awhile, you’re rubbing
brushes bathed in bacteria around your
face and eyes. This can lead to damage to
eyes and their surrounding skin.
8
TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS
When working on documents,
computers or anything else that causes
eye strain, take short breaks to walk
around. When you walk around, your
energy is recharged, plus you increase
blood flow. This helps your eyes recover
from the strain upon them and will
increase their supply of blood and oxygen.
Do you spend a lot of time working on the
computer? Make sure to take frequent
breaks. Resting your eyes allows them to
recharge. Walk around or go outside to
refresh your eyes.
9
APPLY CUCUMBER
TO PUFFY EYELIDS
If you have puffy eyelids, use cucumbers
to reduce the water retention. Cut cold
cucumbers into 1/4 inch slices and place
on your eyelids while you relax with your
eyes closed for about 10 minutes. Applying
a small green tea back which you had
soaked in cool water can also reduce the
inflammation and puffiness.
Issue 9 • October 2017
17

SPLASH COLD WATER
Try splashing cold, clean water on your face and eyes, especially if you have to
stay alert for a long period of time. Whether it is dryness, itching or simply the blood
vessels being enlarged, this tip will help. Also, it can give you a slight boost in energy to
continue through your day.
WEAR A HAT
Using a hat while you are out in bright sunlight is recommended to protect and
shield your eyes from harsh sunlight. Although sunglasses are great, a good hat will
give you great protection. It is best if you select one with a very wide brim. Most people
don’t realize that their eyelids are incredibly sensitive to developing melanoma. You can
stop this by using sunglasses and wide hats to cover your eyelids.
NOURISH YOUR EYES
Make sure your eyes get the
nutrients they need. Regular doses of
omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, vitamin C
and E, as well as zinc, help nourish your
eyes and keep them healthy. Irreversible
conditions like cataracts and macular
degeneration can be prevented.
ADDRESS HEALTH
ISSUES RIGHT AWAY
Get any health issues addressed as soon
as possible. Getting proper treatment for
things like diabetes, hypertension, and high
cholesterol can help your eyes. If these are
taken care of, the risk of damage to your
eyes, including vision loss, is raised. An
eye condition called diabetic retinopathy
is a condition that is caused by increased
blood pressure, cholesterol, and sugar and
can damage blood vessels within the eyes.
After reading this article, you should be
able to clearly see that it is a top priority
to keep your eyes in the best condition.
Poor eyesight comes with a myriad of life
altering issues. Apply the tips that you
have learned immediately.
8 TIPS FOR SUCCESSFULLY
PURCHASING GOOD
HEALTH INSURANCE
by
Tess Kimble
Follow Us:
Read these 8 tips on purchasing health insurance and avoid the frustration of
spending too much on your policy.
Many individuals
wait to get health
insurance, and
often, it is too late.
Most people don’t
give health insurance a second
thought, fail to understand
it, doubt its affordability, or
believe it’s not as important
as it really is. With the
information and advice you’ll
find below, you can make
better health insurance
decisions in the future.
1
KNOW HOW TO SAVE
ON INSURANCE
To save cash on health
insurance, ask if your
company has wellness
programs for their employees.
A lot of employers these days
give rewards to their workers
who participate in health
and wellness assessments.
You might be able to get
lower premiums and sign
22 Issue 9 • October 2017

up for a fitness program for instance.
If you qualify, there may be a discount
medical card you can get, which will allow
you to switch to lower cost insurance with
your insurer. These cards allow you to
visit physicians in their network who have
lower costs for low-income patients. By
having one of these, you could use an HSA
to afford any expenses.
2
UNDERSTAND DIFFERENT
INSURANCE TYPES
Individual policies usually are much
more expensive compared to the group
coverage given by employers, so it is
advised to plan accordingly. You may
need to sacrifice some aspects of your
policy to help keep the cost affordable,
such as a higher deductible or less
coverage. Every insurer will evaluate you
differently, so it’s well worth your time to
shop several insurers until you find the
cheapest rates for the most coverage.
If your spouse has a health insurance
possibility through an employer, you may
have to pay a surcharge to add your wife
or husband on your plan. It might be
cheaper to each have separate coverages
with your employers. To find out the right
way to go, calculate both scenarios.
These 8 tips will help speed up the time required for you to get that flashing white smile.
ABOUT HEALTH INSURANCE AND MEDICINES
Re-assess your prescription coverage every year. Health insurance
providers frequently make changes to the medications they cover, so every
time you sign back up, it is advisable that you check the fine print of your
policy terms. If the pill you are taking on a daily basis is suddenly not covered,
it is probably a good time to begin looking for another insurance provider.
Issue 9 • October 2017
23

Regardless of how comprehensive your
health insurance policy is, making the
decision to use generic drugs will always
be more cost effective. There are only rare
instances when you won’t be able to get
a generic version of your prescription,
and research indicates that the name is
the only way in which generics differ from
brand name drugs.
4
BE CAREFUL WITH THE
INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE
Do not offer up information if someone
from a health insurance agency is
discussing the application process. Give
them only the information they directly
request, nothing more. Any extraneous
information that you provide can be used to
increase your premiums or deny coverage.
Your enrollment, or even worse your
claim, could be rejected due to incorrect
information being provided. It cannot be
stressed enough to be careful when putting
down information. Read your enrollment
form in its entirety to avoid these problems.
5
RESEARCH HEALTH INSURANCE REGULATIONS
When buying health insurance, familiarize yourself with local laws and
regulations regarding health insurance. Does your state legislation offer individuals
protection for preexisting medical conditions? Knowing these laws will allow
you to correctly identify the provider that is right for you, but also know more
about what you are getting yourself into during the process. You will also be
in the know if they try to illegally deny you the coverage to which you are entitled.
Private insurance can not be bought across state lines, as it is regulated by your home
state. This means that going to an out-of-state hospital might not even be covered in
your policy. Insurance companies set their own rules, so be sure to find out their policies
ahead of time.
24 Issue 9 • October 2017

6
KNOW THE COVERAGE YOU QUALIFY FOR
Health insurance policies have a long list of different coverage options, requiring
you to do some homework and be very detailed and organized in your approach
to selecting a policy. When you get started, be sure to have all of the documents
that you will need ready to go. Also be sure to know what you want and need from
your health insurance, be ready to talk about it, and spend some time researching
which ones look good to you so that you are happy with your insurance policy.
Make sure that your health insurance plan covers pregnancy expenses before you get
pregnant, and if yours doesn’t then you’ll need to find one that does. This is critical because
a number of medical coverage policies do not extend to certain elements involved with
pregnancy and/or labor issues.
7
THE CATASTROPHIC HEALTH
INSURANCE OPTION
Catastrophic health insurance coverage
is an option for individuals that cannot
afford a standard health insurance policy.
Catastrophic coverage will protect you
in case you experience a severe, lifethreatening
illness or an unexpected
accident of injury. It makes a great addition
to your overall health insurance portfolio.
If you are thinking about catastrophic
health insurance, you need to do some
serious research. Be sure that this
type of insurance will cover your needs
regarding catastrophic events. After you
purchase the policy, set up a specified
savings account. Make regular deposits
into this account so that you will be able
to afford your deductibles if anything
catastrophic occurs.
8
TALKING WITH YOUR
HEALTH PROVIDER
You’ll have to find a health insurance policy
which lets you choose your own doctor if
you want to keep your current health care
provider. You should ask your doctor which
health insurance plans are accepted and
use one of those. Ask your health provider
if they are giving the necessary mandated
records to the Medical Information
Bureau. You are entitled to an annual copy
of the records at no charge every year.
With more knowledge about health
insurance, you will find it becomes easier
to make the right decision concerning
insurance options for yourself and your
family. Now more than ever, it’s important
to have adequate and affordable health
coverage. Health insurance is among the
most crucial decisions you’ll ever make.
eczema? The problem could
be that you don’t have the
proper knowledge to manage
it. Fortunately, this article was written with
you in mind.
1
AVOID HOT SHOWERS
Lukewarm showers are the way
to go if you have eczema. Also, use a
gentle cleanser and don’t rub too much.
When you finish your shower, gently
pat your skin dry with a soft towel.
Enjoy a warm bath to soothe your skin.
The water needs to be tepid. Sprinkle
some colloidal oatmeal or baking soda
in your bath. This helps soothe the skin.
Another option is to add a half cup of
bleach to your standard 40-gallon bath as
this is thought to help eliminate bacteria
on your skin.
2
DO NOT SCRATCH YOUR SKIN
You will likely feel very itchy. If you
decide to scratch, you’re going to find
yourself scratching even more. Scratching
can also cause serious damage to the skin
or even lead to an infection. Moisturize as
often as possible and use a cold
compress which can relieve symptoms.
3
FIND A COMFORTABLE
TEMPERATURE
You have to find a comfortable
temperature for the home that doesn’t
upset your skin. This can help to moderate
the symptoms that you feel. During hot
weather, the air conditioner should remain
on, and a humidifier can help during cold
temperatures. The humidifier will keep
your skin moist without drying it out like a
heater would.
4
KEEP YOUR SKIN MOISTURIZED
Dry skin and itchy skin are two
common symptoms that eczema sufferers
must deal with. Moisturizers are key in
reducing this suffering. Bear in mind
though that moisturizers are not what
hydrates the skin. The reality is that using
moisturizers frequently helps the skin’s
natural moisture and oils from escaping.
By doing this, moisturizers prevent
the drying and cracking of the skin.
Help prevent flare-ups of eczema
by keeping your skin moisturized.
Moisturized skin won’t crack because it
stays soft. Look for moisturizers that have
a few ingredients and no scent. Certain
fragrances and chemicals will do the
opposite of soothing your skin, instead of
making the condition worse.
5
KEEP NAILS TRIMMED AND CLEAN
Scratching sometimes happens when
sufferers sleep. Short nails will reduce the
irritation that you experience. Also, make
sure your nails are always clean underneath.
Make sure that your nails are as clean as
possible. It is only natural that you react to
eczema by scratching. If your nails are too
long or dirty, then infections could occur
when scratching. You can prevent these
situations with clean, shortened nails.
6
MIND YOUR CLOTHING
Eczema can be triggered by having
your clothes touch your skin. Use only
fabrics made from cotton or a blend
of cotton. Fabrics like wool can cause
irritation. Similarly, you should pay
attention to how you are washing your
clothes. Use mild or natural laundry soap
and other products like fabric softener.
Avoid clothes with itchy seams and tags.
They may cause scratches and make your
eczema symptoms worse. Cut all tags out
of your clothes, or buy clothes that don’t
have any tags, to begin with. Avoid seams
that may become uncomfortable after
wearing the garment for a prolonged time.
If your seams are in your underwear, you
may want to turn things inside out.
7
USE A HUMIDIFIER
A humidifier can be quite helpful.
Humidifiers release moist steam into
the living environment. The steam has
water droplets that moisten the area
that it is in. This can help skin stay
smooth and comfortable despite the
season or weather. Be sure to keep
it clean to avoid other health issues.
A humidifier can help manage eczema.
Dry air can dry out skin, especially during
the winter, and this can cause eczema. A
humidifier will put moisture in the air so
your skin won’t get as dry.
8
KEEP SWEATING TO A MINIMUM
Getting overheated and sweating
a lot can aggravate eczema. Of course
you want to stay active, but you need to
monitor activity and cool off immediately
afterward. Take a shower right away after
a workout.
9
WEAR WATERPROOF GLOVES
No one knows exactly what causes
eczema or how to get rid of it permanently.
Still, you can reduce your symptoms and
flare-ups. The phenomenon, known as
“dishpan hands,” is a type of eczema known
for causing cracked, dry skin. Those who
are plagued with hand eczema should wear
a pair of waterproof gloves whenever they
wash dishes. Latex gloves work, but some
people are allergic to latex. So, cotton
gloves can be worn underneath them.
After the dishes are washed, gently clean
your hands, pat dry, and add moisturizer.
If you have had to deal with eczema,
you certainly know that this condition
can be quite aggravating. Maybe you
can now better manage your eczema
condition. Hopefully, this article provides
the information you have needed
from the start.
9 PIECES OF ADVICE FOR
ANYONE WITH
SLEEP APNEA
by
Tess Kimble
Follow Us:
Here are some pointers on battling some of the disrupting symptoms of sleep
apnea so you can avoid the frustration of not getting enough sleep.
If you or someone
in your family
has recently been
dealing with sleep
apnea problems,
you are probably thinking
about all the different ways
you can treat this condition.
Are you aware of what will
fit every individual situation?
Learning the right information
means continuing to
thoroughly read this article.
1
GIVE UP YOUR VICES
One way to fight against
sleep apnea is to give up vices.
Two of the biggest problems
are drinking and smoking.
Drinking causes respiratory
depression, which makes it
more difficult to breathe.
Over time, your lungs will
be damaged as the result of
smoking. Losing these terrible
habits will help a great deal
when it comes to alleviating
your sleep apnea symptoms.
2
LOSE THE EXTRA POUNDS
Being overweight can be a cause
of sleep apnea. If this is true for you,
try getting a little thinner. A logical
weight loss program that includes a
restrictive, yet healthy diet together
with a sensible exercise routine is
necessary. Cutting out white carbs such
as white rice, pasta and sugar is one step
that many people use to lose weight.
Lose some weight if you’re heavy. Several
studies have shown that there is a link
between obesity and sleep apnea. So, you
can actually find substantial relief from
your symptoms just from shedding even
twenty or thirty pounds.
3
PLAY A WIND INSTRUMENT
Start playing a wind instrument to
alleviate your sleep apnea symptoms.
Some studies have shown that an
instrument like the didgeridoo can help
you improve the muscles in your throat.
It helps to strengthen the muscles in the
throat, which collapse during sleep apnea
episodes. So, if you play this instrument
on a daily basis, it will help to limit the
sleep apnea symptoms which in turn will
give you a good night’s sleep.
4
REDUCE ALCOHOL INTAKE
Try not to drink alcohol as much as
it causes your muscles to relax. This might
be something you want to do, but it can
also exacerbate your sleep apnea. Like
the rest of your muscles, those around
your throat and airway relax under the
influence of alcohol, making it harder
for you to maintain a proper air passage.
If you can’t give up drinking completely,
at least make an effort to moderate your
intake. Also, avoid having alcohol in
the hours leading up to your bedtime.
Do not drink alcohol, especially before going
to sleep. A wide range of sleep disorders
are compounded negatively by the use or
consumption of alcohol, and sleep apnea
is among them. It depresses your central
nervous system, which can worsen your
apnea and can make it harder for you to
come to if you stop breathing. This can be a
fatal combination of conditions.
5
SEE YOUR PHYSICIAN
Sleep apnea is very serious. If you
feel some of the symptoms, then you need
to consult a physician as quickly as you can.
If the doctor determines you are suffering
from sleep apnea, you should consult with
someone who specializes in this disorder
in order to effectively treat the condition.
You aren’t always going to be aware of
your sleep apnea. If you happen to feel
sleepy, tired and exhausted all the time,
then it’s best that you consult with a
doctor. These symptoms may be indicative
of sleep apnea, despite the fact that you
don’t struggle to breathe at night.
38 Issue 9 • October 2017

6
SLEEP ON YOUR SIDE
A large number of people with sleep
apnea sleep on their backs. If you do this,
you might want to start sleeping on your
side, instead. It’s been proven that you
can sleep more comfortably by sleeping
on one side if you have sleep apnea.
Going to bed on your side can be something
you can do to help you get better rest if
you have sleep apnea. When people sleep
on their back, their tongue and soft palate
rest to the back of the throat, which blocks
the airway. Try to fall asleep in a side
position, and discover if that relieves your
sleep apnea tonight.
7
TREAT YOUR SINUS OR
ALLERGY PROBLEMS
Because you already suffer, this should at
least alleviate one of many sleep problems.
You have to avoid anything else that is
going to affect your ability to breathe while
you are asleep. Keeping your airway free
and clear by treating your nasal problems
gives you a much better chance of sleeping
through the night without problems.
8
TAKE A WARM BATH
Some people become anxious due
to their sleep apnea and make the mistake
of taking sedatives before bed, which can
be dangerous for apnea sufferers. Take a
Issue 9 • October 2017
39

warm bath instead. You can relieve tension
and relax your muscles by soaking in a
warm bath. This helps sleep come easier.
You will also sleep more soundly, and
hopefully prevent sleep apnea episodes. If
you still have sleep apnea, check with your
doctor for other treatments.
9
TRY TO HELP YOURSELF
Although professional medical advice
is always warranted in treating sleep
apnea, you can try out a few treatments on
your own, too. If you lose weight and quit
smoking, you will be able to combat sleep
apnea. Stay away from large meals, caffeine,
and alcohol if you have sleep apnea.
Information can help you a lot. When you
fully understand your options concerning
sleep apnea, you will start to find the
proper solution. These ideas will help you
make the best choices for you.
11 TECHNIQUES TO
KEEP YOUR ASTHMA
IN CONTROL
by
Matthew Dubose
Follow Us:
If you’re looking for ways to deal with asthma, then read these 11 pointers on
how to manage your symptoms and cope with your condition with ease.
For all the people who have
difficulties with their breathing
due to asthma, even the smallest
physical task can be discouraging.
Thankfully, there are a lot of
different treatment plans available that can
help to put you at ease in your everyday life.
The insights here can help you understand
your respiratory system and leave you well
equipped to deal with asthma in your life.
1
IDENTIFY YOUR
TYPE OF ASTHMA
There are many different types of asthma.
Before you can develop a self-care plan
for your asthma symptoms, you need to
know the specific cause of your symptoms.
If your asthma is triggered by exercise,
throw an inhaler into your gym bag.
Knowing your symptoms’ patterns can
help you avoid big problems.
If you’re looking for info on how to deal with stress and anxiety, then these 11 helpful tips will help
you fight and cope with panic attacks.

2
AVOID CIGARETTE SMOKE
If you have been diagnosed with
asthma, you must avoid cigarette smoke
at all costs. You should not smoke!
Avoid vapors and chemical fumes from
cigarettes. A severe asthma attack can be
life threatening. If you are around others
who are smoking, remove yourself.
3
ASK ASSISTANCE FROM
A SOCIAL WORKER
If you have asthma and you are not eligible for
health insurance, speak with a social worker.
You will need asthma medications, and if you
are unable to afford them, a social worker
can find a hospital or clinic that can offer you
medication for free or for a little cost.
4
INSTALL A DEHUMIDIFIER
If you have asthma, you may wish
to consider installing a dehumidifier in
your home. When your home has less
humidity, there are fewer dust mites, and
that minimizes the chances of an asthma
flare-up. Dehumidifiers work by pulling
the moisture out of the air of your home.
5
USE HYPOALLERGENIC
SHEETS AND PILLOWS
Avoid using a feather or down pillow if you
have asthma. The feathers from a pillow
can cause asthma symptoms and decrease
your lung function. It is also advisable to
use hypoallergenic sheets and comforters
for the same reason.
6
GET REGULAR CHECK-UPS
Regardless of whether your asthma
has been flaring up, don’t neglect routine
check-ups. Medical science is constantly
evolving, so the doctor might know about
a new treatment for you. Besides, you can
never be sure when another attack might
come on, so it’s better to be checked out.
7
JOIN A SUPPORT GROUP
A support group can offer empathy
and information about new treatments
and medication. Asthma can be an
extremely debilitating health issue and
can stop you from participating in life
the way you want to. Furthermore, these
groups will keep you informed about
any changes in medicines or any other
scientific discoveries that are relevant.
8
KEEP YOUR HOUSE CLEAN
Some of the main triggers of asthma
attacks happen right inside the home.
Three triggers comprise the asthma triad
of doom: spores, dust, and mold. To lessen
the risk of an asthma attack and to stay
46 Issue 9 • October 2017

healthy, have your house inspected every
year by an inspector, and remove those
agents when they have been identified.
As an additional measure, a home that
is regularly cleaned will help keep these
irritants from building up.
9
UNDERSTAND HOW
YOUR INHALER WORKS
Be sure to thoroughly understand how
to utilize asthma medication correctly,
particularly any rescue medication. Asthma
is typically treated with a regular medication
supplemented by rescue medicine, such as
an inhaler. Asthma lasts a lifetime, so you
must manage your treatment and lifestyle to
ensure you’re taking the best care of yourself.
If you have asthma, it is imperative
that you know how to use your inhaler
correctly. For the inhaler to work, you
must carefully follow the directions.
Whenever you spray your inhaler, inhale
deeply for multiple seconds. When your
doctor prescribes your inhaler, ask him for
detailed instructions in using it correctly.
You can use the preventative inhaler daily,
but know that it can cause mouth infections
near your gums and teeth. Always clean
your teeth and rinse your mouth after you
use your inhaler.
LIMIT EXPOSURE TO
PETS AND POLLEN
Anyone with asthma should limit their
exposure to household pets and other
types of animals. Some people with asthma
are allergic to animal fur or dander on top
of their asthma, but even those who don’t
have such an allergy can bring on an attack if
they breathe in too much of these irritants.
Try to avoid the seasonal pollen that may
trigger an asthma attack. A lot of the
same things that can bother people with
allergies will bother people with asthma as
well. You can get the information about air
quality in the area you are in; people who
have asthma should stay indoors if their
air quality is low.
HAVE SOME CAFFEINE
Try using caffeine as an emergency
backup if your asthma medications are
unavailable during an attack. Strong black
tea, coffee or chocolate can aid in mitigating
asthma attack symptoms. It helps constrict
the blood vessels and opens the airways.
You can tackle an asthma problem on your
own or one that troubles someone you
care about with a little more confidence
now that you’ve reviewed some basic
advice about the condition and some
of its possible treatments. Whether this
information helps you or a family member
or a friend, you should feel comfort
knowing that asthma is not the worst thing
that could happen.
Just about
anyone can
name at least
one vegetable
they are not
particularly fond of, and
for most of us, there are
numerous veggies we
try to avoid. People who
find it almost impossible
to eat enough fruits and
vegetables often find that
drinking juice is a much
easier way to get those
nutrients. Start out your
juicing adventure using the
tips in this article.
muscle. If you workout a lot you should
eat plenty of vegetables and fruits that
will aid you building your electrolytes
back up. Adding whey protein is also
good because it can help rebuild muscle.
A well rounded juice blend can be a
nutritious meal. If you consider the
quantity of produce that goes into a single
glass of juice, you may see how this can
be true. When you drink a glass of juice
on its own, the nutrients will be absorbed
into the bloodstream a lot quicker.
Add as many low-calorie foods to your
juice to increase its nutritional value and
help burn fat. Items that are included
are things like herbs, cabbage, broccoli,
or kale. You can look up other types of
items online as well. High fiber fruits
are also the best choice, as they take a
lot of digestion to break down.
2
YOU CAN JUICE YOUR VEGETABLES
If you are using dark, leafy greens in
your juice blends, you may wish to consider
adding in cucumber as well. Leafy greens
tend to be quite strong and not taste all
that great. Cucumber will put a nice twist
on your drink, as well as masking the taste
of unpleasant veggies. It also contains
many essential nutrients, especially when
the skin of the cucumber is left intact.
If you suffer from diabetes or
hypoglycemia, use only vegetables in
your juices. Juice made from fruits can
cause your blood sugar to rise rapidly. It
is a good idea to keep a close eye on how
much fruit juice you are taking for medical
reasons. You can avoid certain health risks
by using vegetables.
3
CHOOSING, CLEANING AND
STORING YOUR JUICER
When choosing a juicer, locate one that
you may easily and quickly take apart and
clean. Some juicers take over 25 minutes
to assemble, disassemble, and clean. Add
the time it takes to juice, and you may
just want to go buy juice instead. Make
sure that you clean the juicer right away,
because the components are easier to
clean if the pulp has not dried. Cleaning
your juicer as soon as you are done
with it will make the job easier. Also,
some vegetables and fruits have juices
that can stain juicer blades and jugs.
Putting your juicer on the counter and not
hidden in a cabinet is a great idea. This
can help you use it more often. As long as
it is in your field of vision, you will find it
easier to remember how much you love
freshly squeezed juices.
4
DRINK THAT JUICE RIGHT AWAY
As soon as you make your juice,
drink it. If you want to create the best juice
for good health, it is vital that you know
that nutrients in the juice are lost soon
after it is made. The longer amount of
time that you wait to consume the juice,
the less nutrients you’ll receive. Therefore,
by drinking the juice as soon as it is made,
you will receive the most benefit from it.
Do not delay in serving your juice, after
it has been prepared. Ideally, you should
serve your juice shortly after you make it.
When juice sits in the refrigerator for a few
days it changes into unappetizing colors.
Understandably, brown or grey colored juice
isn’t appetizing to most people. One solution
to the problem is to add a teaspoon or two of
lemon juice to the juice mixture. The lemon
juice will help the juice retain its bright color,
and it will not significantly alter the flavor.
54 Issue 9 • October 2017

5
JUICING INGREDIENTS
AND THEIR BENEFITS
Cranberries can help with bladder problems
or urinary tract infections. When you first feel
the symptoms of an infection, drink some
cranberry juice. Ginger is a great food that
can help to aid gastrointestinal problems. It
can be added to the juice you make to give it a
little pop and make you feel better at the same
time. Ginger fights inflammation and soothes
all parts of the gastrointestinal system.
by drinking homemade juice. Juice provides
many nutrients that can help to ease joint
pain, aid memory or even slow down cell
death due to free radicals.
6
WATCH OUT FOR TEETH STAINS
Watch how various fruits affect
your teeth when juicing. The dark colors
may stain your teeth as you drink the
juice. Be sure to at least gargle when you
notice stains caused by drinking juice.
Cucumber juice is great for hair and skin
health. There is a lot of silica in cucumbers.
Silica helps strengthen your connective
tissues and is beneficial to ligaments,
tendons, muscles, and bones. A tired,
aching body can get an instant pick-me-up
Beets and carrots are the type of foods
that are likely to cause stains. Gently brush
your teeth after drinking these juices if
your teeth tend to stain easily. Another
option would be using a straw when you
drink juice to minimize staining.
7
KNOW THE RIGHT
FRUIT COMBINATIONS
When you are doing your very own juicing,
it’s good to be mindful of the fact that not
all fruits are created equal or the same.
Some fruits, such as a citrus variety,
require special equipment to efficiently
extract the juice. Also, take extra care with
melon juice, as it usually tastes pretty
awful when combined with other fruits.
When you’re making a juice, it’s best not
to go crazy with too many flavors! You
can make a healthy juice without having
to use multiple vegetables. You can add
in a few vegetables that you like with an
apple to make it sweet and healthy for
you. You can make fruit juice the same
way. The taste of each fruit or vegetable
you use will be able to shine through your
blend if you limit how many you add.
There is no disputing that getting enough
fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet
benefits your mind, body and palate.
The information laid out in this article
can help you realize what a big impact
juicing will have on your health, mind and
body. So go ahead, spice up your diet in
a healthy way!
8 USEFUL IDEAS THAT
ERADICATE ACNE
by
Matthew Dubose
Follow Us:
Once you educate yourself and learn the right way to care for your skin, you will
be well on your way to being free from your acne.
Most people have had to
struggle with acne at one
point in their lives. This may
have been infrequent or acute
attacks depending on your
skin type. Because of scientific advances,
there are new easy techniques to keep
your skin clear. This article will give you
some of these hints.
1
DITCH TEETH
WHITENING PRODUCTS
Remove teeth whitening products from
your regimen. Harsh dental products
may be causing your outbreaks if your
acne is especially severe around your
mouth. For example, certain types of
toothpaste, mouthwash, or whitening
strips may cause acne. Therefore, it is
advisable that these products are avoided
to minimize outbreaks.
2
USE WATER-BASED MAKEUP
Makeup can be a contributing factor
in acne. Applying foundations made with
oil can lead to clogging of the pores.
Water soluble makeup is better for the
skin than oil-based products. Read all
“oil-free” product labels very carefully
to ensure that they are this way. Also,
60 Issue 9 • October 2017

some products may contain synthetics
that are also known to cause acne.
Try staying away from makeup to improve
your acne, or use makeup that is waterbased.
Makeup can exacerbate your
break-outs by clogging your pores. If you
abstain, your pores should remain clean
and clear.
3
KEEP STRESS AT BAY
You probably already know that
stress affects your skin in many ways,
including acne breakouts. It is a true
statement, but luckily there are many
ways to help reduce stress in your life.
Stretching exercises are a great way to
reduce stress; consider Pilates, tai-chi,
and yoga as great options. When possible,
avoid circumstances that are known to
cause you stress. Stress does not cause one
to develop acne, but it can make it worse.
Control your stress level to deal with your
acne. Stress can cause the production of
hormones, which is bad for your health and
your skin. Stress reduction techniques offer
numerous health benefits for your body and
mind. Therefore, it is in your best interest to
seek activities that promote this effect, such
as working out, meditating or even listening
to music. The more stress you have, the
more acne will show up, so it’s important to
keep yourself calm, cool, and collected.
Eczema can be frustrating and very uncomfortable; however, it is manageable. Read these 9 helpful
pointers on what you can do to deal with it.

4
USE NATURAL SKIN CARE PRODUCTS
If you suffer from persistent acne, make sure to use only natural skin care products.
Many non-natural skin care products have a lot of harsh ingredients in them that make
things worse for your skin. All this does is block your pores and actually cause more
acne. The ingredients in natural products help your skin to heal without any side effects.
5
CLEAN YOUR MOBILE
PHONE REGULARLY
Who would have thought you could get
acne from a cell phone? Cellular phones
get the oil from your face and hair and
deposit it back at your face. Clean your
phone often to keep it from clogging
your pores. When you are using your cell
phone, do not let it touch your face. This
helps prevent any dirt or oil on the phone
from touching your face.
6
KEEP YOUR HANDS
FROM YOUR FACE
One should avoid popping pimples and
touching their face if they plan to improve
their acne. By not touching their face,
acne sufferers avoid transferring the oil
and bacteria that cause breakouts to
other sites. Not popping pimples reduces
the chances of scarring and infections.
Keep your hands from around your
face because they are full of dirt and oil
that can clog the facial pores. The dirt
becomes trapped in the pores causing
inflammation that can lead to breakouts.
When fighting pimples, it’s critical not
to touch those areas already affected.
It is easy for oil and dirt to be spread
around the skin by your fingers, and this
can lead to further acne inflammation. It
is important to stop touching your face
immediately. Gestures like propping up
on your hands and rubbing your nose can
worsen acne problems.
7
DON’T LET SWEAT
STAY ON YOUR SKIN
When trying to prevent acne, it is vital
not to let sweat stay on your body for too
long. As sweat stays on your skin, it begins
to clog up your pores, leading to acne. A
short, warm shower should do the trick.
Wash your face immediately after working
out or after you have sweated profusely.
Keep facial cleansing wipes with you if you
are away from home. This will help you
quickly and easily wash away bacteria.
Remember that wipes are strictly a
stopgap solution; they cannot replace the
thorough cleansing you can do at home!
8
WATCH WHAT YOU EAT AND DRINK
Another great way to help reduce the
occurrence of acne would be to decrease
meats and dairy from your diet. There
might be hormones in the meat and dairy
items that can cause imperfections in your
skin. Caffeine can have negative effects
on your skin, causing more acne. Drinking
less caffeine will make your skin healthier.
A lot of people aren’t aware of the best
skincare routines to reduce breakouts.
Do not feel isolated because of your acne;
you are in good company. Just follow the
above tips and you’re on your way to
having clearer skin.
9 TIPS AND TRICKS FOR
COMBATING
ACID REFLUX
by
Tess Kimble
Follow Us:
Read these 9 tips on acid reflux and avoid the frustration of digestive track
problems.
Acid reflux is
nothing to joke
about. When
it comes to
treating your
reflux, even a few simple
tips and changes can make
a huge difference in the
severity of your condition.
Read on for top tips on
controlling acid reflux.
1
BE AWARE OF
HOW YOU EAT
Poor eating habits is often
what makes acid reflux rear
its ugly head. Many people
often eat fast and ingest
large quantities of food. This
is not the way to eat your
food, and it only worsens
your condition. You want
to stop eating when you’re
full instead of when you’re
stuffed. Also, when you sit at
the table to eat, slow down.
Chew each bite fully and put
your fork down frequently.
Issue 9 • October 2017
67

Make sure you do not eat during the three
hours prior to getting into bed. So eating
at 8 if you go to bed at 11 can help you
avoid acid reflux. If you lay down and your
stomach is full, your LES muscle will have
more pressure on it. Thus, you will likely
experience an acid reflux flare.
2
OBSERVE PROPER POSTURE
AWAKE OR ASLEEP
Always remain in an upright position
while eating and in the two to three
hours following each meal. When you
recline, you are more prone to acid reflux
flareups. Your esophagus will feel much
better when you get up on your feet.
Don’t recline post-meal. The thinking
here is that gravity’s your best bet in
avoiding acid reflux. Based on your body
and what you’ve eaten, you may need
to wait longer before you can recline.
Is nighttime heartburn an issue for you?
If so, think about your sleeping positions.
Get into the habit of sleeping on your left
side. Doing this will keep your stomach
acids where they belong.
Anxiety can bring negativity in a person’s life, but this can be dealt with in a healthy way. Here are some tips
on how you can properly deal with it.

3
LEAD A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
Stop smoking! Smoking causes and
worsens acid reflux symptoms. It slows
digestion and increases stomach acids. It
also slows down the production of saliva.
Finally, your esophageal sphincter is
weakened. That’s why you should quit today.
Refrain from drinking alcohol, which
can irritate your stomach lining. Besides
causing acid to begin to build up
and eat away at your stomach lining,
alcohol worsens acid reflux. Whenever
you go out with your friends, be sure
to keep your drinking under control
so that you won’t feel sick afterward.
Shed excess pounds to decrease the impact
of acid reflux. Obesity is one major cause
of acid reflux occurring. Losing just 10
percent of how much you weigh can reduce
the occurrence of acid reflux. Don’t be silly
with excessive dieting schemes, instead
reduce the size of your meal portions.
68 Issue 9 • October 2017

4
KNOW WHAT FOOD CAUSES ACID REFLUX
Some foods are much more likely to cause acid reflux than others. You
should partake of these foods infrequently. A few foods that frequently cause
problems are tomatoes, milk, alcohol, acidic juices, coffee or spicy foods.
Don’t eat food with a ton of fat. Fast food is one of the main culprits that you must avoid.
Examining the nutritional labels of your food choices to discover the fat content they possess.
Many people find that gluten triggers reflux. Limit your consumption of gluten products
and you can see less reflux. You may think you have to eliminate all grain from your
diet, but this isn’t true. Some great grains that provide your body with necessary fiber
and nutrition include millet and quinoa.
5
LEARN TO PROPERLY HYDRATE
You can reduce acid reflux by not
drinking during your meals. Any type
of liquid that you drink when you eat
increases the volume in your stomach. This
adds pressure to the esophageal sphincter,
raising the danger of reflux. Instead of
drinking with meals, drink in between them.
Do you enjoy being active and participating
in strenuous exercise, but you experience
acid reflux very often? Fortunately, your
problem may be easily fixed. One way to
help is to drink plenty of water. Water
keeps you hydrated. It will also help ensure
your food digests properly. Water helps
you digest your food; thus, limiting the
amount of acid your stomach produces.
6
SAY NO TO SODAS
Watch out for carbonated drinks and
those with high levels of caffeine. Beverages
such as these can end up increasing
the amount of acid in your stomach.
In addition, they are an irritant to the
stomach’s lining, which can exacerbate acid
reflux symptoms even more. Herbal teas
and green teas are excellent alternatives.
Issue 9 • October 2017
69

Be aware of the kind of beverages you
drink and how much you drink with your
meals. Have you ever had four sodas with
dinner? If you lower the amount of liquid
you drink, it can help eliminate reflux.
7
DON’T SELF DIAGNOSE
Never diagnose yourself. People
fall into the easy trap of self-diagnosis,
and most of the time, online searches
are methods to perform self-diagnosis.
If you believe you may have this
condition due to symptoms, such as
stomach discomfort and regurgitation,
then you should talk to your doctor.
There are other disorders that are similar
in effect to acid reflux. You need to ensure
what you have is really acid reflux to avoid
the hazard of self-medicating. Your doctor
can verify if you do have acid reflux.
8
KEEP IT COOL AND HANG LOOSE
Reduce stress if you have acid
reflux. While stress itself does not cause
acid reflux, it can increase the likelihood
that you will engage in activities that
do, such as overeating, smoking, and
drinking. This can help reduce the
acid that is produced by your body.
Constrictive clothing and tight belts are
not necessary. This actually worsens
symptoms by constricting your stomach.
If you’re suffering from acid reflux,
wear looser clothing. If you do wear a
belt, allow it to be held around your
waist more loosely.
NATURAL REMEDIES
FOR ACID REFLUX
Try consuming more honey. Honey can
calm the inflammation associated with acid
reflux. This will help you feel better and
more comfortable during the day. Consider
purchasing raw and unpasteurized
honey for the greatest health benefits.
Seek out something called a slippery
elm lozenge at a health food shop. They
can alleviate hoarseness and coughing,
lessen pain and help your digestive
system to heal. Changing your lifestyle
and adding these natural lozenges
to your daily routine may be all you
need to get acid reflux under control.
You need to use these tips to eliminate
your acid reflux for good. You should not
let acid reflux ruin your life and cause
damage to your digestive track. Take
control of the problem by following the
tips presented here.
12 TIPS TO
BOOST YOUR MEMORY
by
Matthew Dubose
Follow Us:
Being forgetful is normal. Read these 12 tips and learn some simple techniques
that you can use to improve your memory.
It’s not possible to push a
button and have a memory
pop up. Some things you learn,
you forget. To improve your
memory skills, follow the tips
presented in this article.
1
USE MNEMONIC DEVICES
One of the most popular ways to
commit information to your long-term
memory is to utilize one of many different
mnemonic devices. Mnemonic devices are
used for memory in a way similar to how
shorthand writing is a useful device for taking
dictation. You will associate information
with another word, and you will be able to
relate it and have a map to that memory.
Use a mnemonic device to help you retain
important information. This technique
calls for linking the new information with
something you already know well. These
typically involve songs, jokes or rhymes,
and they’re an extremely fun method
of improving your memory. These often
eliminate frustration from studying.
CREATE REMINDERS
WITH STICKY NOTES
Sticky notes and lists are very popular
for those people that have difficulty
remembering important things. Stick your
notes in places you know they will not be
missed or forgotten, such as next to your
phone or near the computer screen. These
notes can help you remember important
things.
3
GET ENOUGH QUALITY SLEEP
Make sure you allow time to get
enough quality sleep each night. Both
long-term and short-term memory can
be affected by lack of sleep. If you are
tired, you are going to have trouble
remembering things. Getting more
sleep each night is the way forward
to helping your memory improve.
Making sure you get enough sleep each
night is important. There is a direct
correlation between lack of sleep and
memory retention. If you’re having trouble
staying focused, you are also going to have
trouble committing recent occurrences to
your long-term memory.
76 Issue 9 • October 2017

4
RELATE NEW WITH THE EXISTING
Here is a great tip to help you
remember new things. As you’re reading
new material and are attempting to
retain it, it helps a lot if you can relate
new material to other things that you’re
already familiar with. If your thoughts
are like a web, where each new piece of
information is linked to another one piece
that you already know, you will have a
better time remembering new thoughts.
Learn to relate important new information
with existing information in your mind. This
will help you expand your memorization
abilities. For example, you can link
information to a more familiar concept. Over
time, this process will make it easier to store
information in your long-term memory.
5
CHECK OUT SELF-HELP BOOKS
You may find helpful books for
improving your memory during a visit to
your library. Look for books written by wellknown
experts. They may contain valuable
exercises and tips for enhancing your
ability to retain and recall information.
6
DON’T ENTERTAIN SELF-DOUBT
People believe that your memory
worsens with age. This isn’t true all of the
time. Expecting that your memory will start
to go can actually damage your memory.
You may begin to doubt your memory if your
friends or family question it as well. If you
believe your memory is good, it can help it.
7
CREATE A SCHEDULE
You should use calendars, journals,
and other planning tools. Purchase day
planners and write things down. Create
a set schedule and consult it as often as
needed. Writing these things down and
looking at them will help your mind. Once
you have looked at the information, you
will be more likely to remember it. This is
especially useful for those who are prone
to forgetfulness.
8
REMEMBER BY ASSOCIATION
If you’re trying to remember
something, associate it with a funny
image, song, or phrase. Humor makes
learning more fun, and you will find it is
easier to remember things later. If there
are times when someone has given you
information, and you are having a hard
time remembering it, you may want to try
to put it in your own words and then try
to learn it. It’s often easier for people to
remember something if they’ve worded it
in their own unique way.
9
SAY IT OUT LOUD
When you need to commit something
to memory, it helps to speak it out loud.
For example, when you learn something,
such as a number, say it out loud a few
times. Repeating things where you can
78 Issue 9 • October 2017

hear it is a great way to ensure that you
remember that bit of information at a
later date. If at all possible, say the name
out loud more than once.
REMEMBER PEOPLE’S NAMES
Do you have problems
remembering peoples’ names? A great
trick for you to use is to connect the
person you’ve just met with someone else
you know with the same or a similar name.
Making a mental connection between a
new friend and a famous person is another
way to remember names. When you link
the new name with familiar knowledge,
it will help you remember the new name
when you encounter your new friend again.
Pay attention when introduced to new
information and it will be easier to
remember. When you meet someone for
the first time, repeat their name, think
of how it is probably spelled and ask for
clarification if needed. For example, ask,
“Is that Christy with an I or a Y?” Make
a habit to say something including their
name and this will help you to remember
it later. Using her name during the
conversation and linking it mentally to
what you talked about will make it easier
to remember her name the next time.
STAY AWAY FROM DISTRACTIONS
If you’re studying a subject
that you really need to remember, you
should eliminate distractions and focus
on nothing but that subject. You have to
get the information from your short-term
memory and into your long-term memory
instead if you wish to recall it at a later
time. The way to ensure that what you
want to remember gets implanted in your
long-term memory is to be free of outside
distractions.
FOLLOW AN OUTLINE
When you are studying, have your
material laid out in an organized, outlined
form. When you have the subjects you
want to master organized in groups, it
is easier to remember the things you
want to learn. The outline does not need
to be especially long or short, but just
enough for you to grasp and recall easily.
There are always steps that can be taken
to improve one’s memory. Use what you
learn from this article in order to increase
your ability. This will also help you recall
things from your memory.
10 WAYS TO STOP LETTING
ANXIETY LIMIT
YOUR LIFE
by
Tess Kimble
Follow Us:
Anxiety can bring negativity in a person’s life, but this can be dealt with in a
healthy way. Here are some tips on how you can properly deal with it.
People living all
over the globe
have anxiety.
It can be quite
scary to deal
with the traumatizing
effects of anxiety, but there
are ways to combat it. The
very good news is that
you can do something to
deal with it. The following
article contains advice that
you could use to properly
deal with anxiety.
1
MANAGE EVERYDAY
STRESS
To help keep anxiety at bay,
manage everyday stress.
When you are too stressed
out, your level of anxiety
tends to rise as well. Try to
delegate a few tasks so that
you start to relieve a bit of
the pressure that you are
faced with. Also, be sure to
have a certain amount of
time to unwind every day.
Stay away from people that cause you
stress. An example of this will be if you
have someone you hang out with who is
negative. Try to avoid that person as much
as you can. Negative people will only
increase your feelings of anxiety.
2
GET SOME EXERCISE
To be sure that your anxiety isn’t
affecting you too much, exercise as much
as you can every day. The endorphins
that regular exercise produces will
promote happiness and reduce your
stress levels. Additionally, experts
recommend physical activity to maintain
your general health and well-being.
Exercise consistently if you suffer from
anxiety. Exercise can help to relieve stress,
which in turn reduces the symptoms of
anxiety. For an ideal outcome, and to
get better quicker, a 30-minute aerobic
workout is recommended.
3
BREATHE IN, BREATHE OUT
Anxiety often disrupts your normal
breathing pattern and using a specific
pattern of your breathing can help you regain
control. Gently count to yourself as you are
breathing, then let the relaxed feelings seep
into your body. For the best outcome, find a
quiet area to do this breathing.
4
START YOUR DAY WITH POSITIVITY
Tell yourself good things that you
have done, make yourself feel good in the
morning. Tell yourself how your ideal day
will go, and your goals for the day. Then,
do everything you can to ensure your day
goes how you intend it to.
5
EAT A HEALTHY, BALANCED DIET
It is necessary to have a balanced and
nutritious diet, but even more critical when
anxiety attacks are involved. In contrast
to junk food, a balanced diet provides
you with the vitamins and other nutrients
your body requires to remain healthy.
Eat a healthy diet. Foods that are high in
caffeine or sugar can make your anxiety
worse. Other options, typically healthier
choices, can help to prepare your body to
fight back when anxiety strikes. Keeping a
food diary can help reduce your anxiety.
Make a conscious effort to change it for
the better.
6
EXPRESS HOW YOU FEEL
Talk with others about how you
feel, such as friends, family members
or a professional. Keeping your issues
to yourself and not expressing your
feelings isn’t going to help you feel
better. Voicing out your feelings
could make you feel a lot better,
and it can help reduce your anxiety.
Express your biggest fear to someone
you trust, and make it bigger than it is.
After hearing how ridiculous you sound
out loud, often people see their fear
from a different perspective.
7
FIND A CREATIVE OUTLET
Remaining sedentary and focusing
on the negative is not likely to help things.
The best thing to do is keep your body
and mind busy. Hobbies and creative
outlets occupy your mind, leaving less
room for anxiety.
8
TRY TO REMAIN IN THE PRESENT
Anxious people tend to put too
much emphasis on the past or the future
and miss out on the joy of the present.
This will make you feel worried and
overwhelmed, and that can cause a panic
attack. Keep anxious feelings to a low level
and do not focus on anxious thoughts.
During times when you feel anxious, watching
an enjoyable comedy can be helpful. This
genre can help bring laughter to your life,
offer a new perspective and take your mind
off of the troubles that caused your anxiety.
9
HAVE SOME TEA
A lot of people use hot tea when they
are dealing with anxiety. Drinking it helps
create a feeling of relaxation. With this or
any other technique, be sure to consult
your doctor first as relaxation might not
be enough to stop anxiety. If you find that
your anxiety doesn’t leave after a period of
time, you must consider talking things out
with a medical professional to improve.
CONSIDER DIFFERENT
TREATMENT OPTIONS
If you are suffering from anxiety,
consider both medical and natural
treatment options. Your physician can
look over your affliction and prescribe
or suggest specific medications.
Similarly, the natural approach such
as changes in diet could prove to be a
big difference. It has been learned that
the success rates are much higher for
those that combine treatment solutions.
Anxiety can be decreased in daily life.
The ideas presented here were but a
few that you can use to manage anxiety.
All you have to do is use them to your
advantage. You will eventually realize that
the anxiety that you are feeling could be
dealt with completely.
9 PRINCIPLES FOR
DEALING WITH TINNITUS
by
Matthew Dubose
Follow Us:
If you’re looking for info on how to stop the ringing in your ears, then these 9
tips will help you get up to speed and avoid tinnitus.
Many people think that the only
way to treat tinnitus is to wait
for it to simply disappear on
its own. There are several
different options available
that can provide relief. Don’t give up if one
particular approach doesn’t work for you.
Try the next! Choose from the effective
suggestions available in the article below.
1
SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP
If your medical professional
indicates that there isn’t anything they
can do about your tinnitus, get a second
opinion. One doctor may not have the
necessary training to suggest an effective
treatment, but there are those who do.
You have to get the advice of a physician
if you want to try homeopathic treatments
for your tinnitus. To protect your
own health, you should never take a
supplement unless it was recommended
by a licensed healthcare professional.
Tinnitus may be caused by an underlying
medical condition, so see your doctor first.
It is not an easy feat to quit smoking. These 9 tips will help you plan your program so you can kick the
smoking habit for good.

2
YOUR BEDROOM SHOULD
BE A SLEEP ONLY ZONE
When tinnitus is bothering you, only
give yourself about 15 minutes to get
to sleep. If you do not fall asleep during
that period of time, then get off your bed
and go into another room. Do not do any
physical activity or anything stressful.
Tiring yourself to sleep might boomerang
back to you and cause you to be even more
awake. Instead, stick with an activity that
will relax you. By leaving the bedroom, you
help make the room a “sleep only” zone.
This should, over time, alleviate much of
the unwanted tossing and turning you can
experience at bed time when you aren’t
tired enough.
3
RESEARCH ON
TREATMENT OPTIONS
You may find that the more you know about
tinnitus, the easier it will be to treat it and
cope with it. There is a plethora of information
regarding tinnitus on the Internet, as well
as in books and journal articles. Gaining
an understanding of what the causes are
might make it more tolerable for you.
A good ear flush can be an effective
first treatment to consider if you are
experiencing tinnitus symptoms. Excessive
wax in the ears can make tinnitus worse.
Using cotton swabs inside the ear canal
can push it up against your eardrum.
4
STRESS CAN CAUSE THE
RINGING TO GET LOUDER
Attempt as much semblance of organization
in your life that you can, since stress is a
proven exacerbant of tinnitus. Look for a
new job which allows you to work the way
you want to work, and start spending more
low-key, relaxed time with those you love.
To reduce or eliminate your tinnitus
symptoms, think about your overall level
of stress. While a physical affliction,
tinnitus is often just the manifestation of
something emotional. Use a schedule or
agenda to plan your days ahead of time,
which can leave you less rushed. Learn
relaxation techniques and incorporate
them into your daily activities so they will
become second nature to you.
5
TAKE A CLOSER LOOK
AT YOUR DIET
There is scientific data suggesting that
tinnitus may be linked to inflammation.
So, it makes sense to adopt an antiinflammatory
diet in an effort to control
your symptoms. So, you want to add in
foods like vegetables and fruits to your
diet, as well as other foods that are antiinflammatory,
like flax seed oil and salmon.
It may be time to take a closer look at
your diet. Some tinnitus sufferers claim
that changing their eating habits has
cured their condition. Some recommend
gingko biloba, vitamin B12 and giving up
coffee. Change only one dietary factor at a
time, though, so that any results that you
experience will be easily traceable.
6
GET ACTIVE AND GET SUPPORT
Fill your schedule with exciting
activities in which you like to participate.
Your mind will naturally be focused on
something other than your tinnitus.
Many people allow this condition to
control their lives, but you don’t have
to. Concentrate on doing activities
you enjoy to distract yourself.
It could help to find others who deal with
tinnitus. Oftentimes building a database
of support groups for yourself can really
lessen the stress and anxiety you might feel
towards your condition. Tinnitus sufferers
are all in this together, so it’s important
that you trade advice for improving quality
of life with other sufferers.
7
GET RELIEF AT HOME
Do not let tinnitus get to you at home.
Create white noise by turning on a small
fan or turning down the air conditioner.
If that overwhelms you, try placing a tiny
fan in each room, or playing a sound CD.
If you can drown out tinnitus sounds while
at home, it’ll be a lot easier to deal with
your condition. You probably won’t notice
ringing in your ears as much while you are
busy doing things outside of your home,
so it won’t bother you so much. You won’t
even need specialized equipment.
8
BEHAVIORAL APPROACHES WORK
If you want relief from your tinnitus,
it might be necessary to restrict certain
behaviors that engage the condition. These
behaviors include drinking alcohol, using
tobacco and taking NSAIDs like aspirin.
Get professional help if you need to.
Visit a counselor who specializes in
cognitive behavioral therapy. This type
of therapy will teach you how to stop
focusing on tinnitus so much. The help of
a professional can get you past the stress
that you feel when you are confronted with
your tinnitus. This will make it easier to
cope with. Don’t let tinnitus control you. If
you do, it will be hard to live a happy life.
9
EXPLORING CREATIVE SOLUTIONS
Learning to play a musical instrument
is one of the more creative ways to distract
yourself from tinnitus. Certain instruments,
like woodwind and brass, are the most
effective at canceling the noise, that’s
because they’re close to your head and the
sound ends up resonating inside your skull.
Try using massage to help reduce tinnitus
symptoms. Increased blood flow can
help clear your mind and reduce physical
stress associated with tinnitus. The
more you are relaxed, the less hard your
heart works, and this in return reduces
your blood pressure. If the sound you
are hearing is caused by blood rushing
through your ears, as is the case for many
sufferers, your symptoms may improve
when your blood moves more slowly.
As we have said before, tinnitus has been
thought of as something that one has to
deal with. If you are open to some new
ideas, maybe trying some new things, you
can actually minimize or even eliminate
tinnitus. Use the tips above and you may
be able to find some peace.
12 EFFECTIVE POINTERS FOR
DEALING WITH
CELLULITE
by
Tess Kimble
Follow Us:
It is not impossible to get rid of the orange-peel look on your skin. Here are
tips on how you can deal with cellulite to bring out your smooth skin.
When you have
cellulite, you may
not know what
to do to get rid
of it. Have you
bought numerous creams
and lotions in an attempt to
get rid of cellulite? Do you
want to find the answers that
will actually help you deal
with your cellulite problem?
This article is the right one
for you.
1
GET SOME EXERCISE
If you are having
problems getting rid of
cellulite, then cardiovascular
exercise can help. If you
incorporate cardio exercises
into your exercise plan
and target your trouble
spots that have cellulite,
then noticeable results will
appear in no time. Biking
and running are great
exercises to improve your
thighs, hips, and buttocks.
98 Issue 9 • October 2017

It is best to tone the muscles in your
thighs, buttocks, and legs to avoid seeing
cellulite on your body. Some exercises that
are good for this are lunges and squats.
This will also improve strength and can cut
down on fat in these areas.
2
IMPROVE YOUR DIET
Improving your diet can help
eliminate the appearance of cellulite.
Eat enough vegetables and fruits. They
leave an alkaline ash behind that can
help make sure your body looks its best.
Juicing is a fantastic way to get your body
all the vegetables and fruits it needs.
Cellulite may be reduced through a
healthy diet. Whole grains and foods that
are rich in fiber can fight cellulite-creating
toxins. Drinking adequate water as well as
eating a healthy diet also helps to flush
out toxins.
Being forgetful is normal. Read these 12 tips and learn some simple techniques that you can use to improve
your memory.
3
DON’T RESORT TO PLASTIC SURGERY
People often opt for plastic surgery, but this should be something you do as your
last-ditch effort. There are safer, cheaper ways to get rid of your cellulite. Surgery should
be your last option when everything else has failed.
4
KEEP YOURSELF HYDRATED
Eat healthy foods, omega-3 oils and drink a lot of water during the day. Why should
this be seen as important? Because bodies that stay hydrated will have less of a dimpling
effect that is seen in a lot of cellulite. When you hydrate your skin, you make it more
plump. This eliminates the dimples. It is an easy and effective form of fighting cellulite.
5
DON’T STRESS TOO MUCH
Stress is a big contributor to cellulite. Stress produces a hormone called
cortisol which can make your body store energy and fat. Think about doing
yoga and meditation exercises. Go for walks that are long and relaxing. Find
something that is calming and will work best for you, then get enough sleep nightly.
Reducing your stress levels also helps to reduce cellulite. When a stressful situation
occurs, the hormone Cortisol is let loose in your body. That hormone will thin skin and
make your storage of fat increase. To get rid of stress, try doing meditation and yoga.
6
TRY TO GET SOME TAN
A good way to reduce the
appearance of cellulite is by tanning.
Tanning does not eliminate the condition,
but it minimizes the appearance of it.
Exposing your skin to the sun can be
harmful, so try a spray tan. Do your
research, though, and find a trusted brand.
Cellulite may be less noticeable if you get a
tan. Everything, cellulite patches included,
looks smaller when dark. Make sure that
you exfoliate your skin before applying
any sort of tanning spray or lotion. You
want the tan to be even.
7
USE A BODY BRUSH ON YOUR
CELLULITE
Brushing helps rid your body of dead skin,
and it also helps stimulate circulation
and increase lymphatic flow. This process
will allow your skin cells to drain, which
can mitigate the effects of cellulite. Try
brushing twice a day with long strokes.
Use a dry brush with natural bristles to
boost circulation and limit the buildup
of cellulite. Work from the tops of your
feet up the rest of your body to remove
dry skin cells from your entire body. This
helps increase your blood’s circulation and
100 Issue 9 • October 2017

improves the appearance of your skin. It
will also stimulate your skin and improve
blood circulation in the area. If you’re able
to be gentle, it can make your skin smooth
while relaxing you.
8
CONCENTRATE ON
LIFESTYLE CHANGES
To cut down cellulite, concentrate on
lifestyle changes. Sometimes, cosmetic
options may not be right for you. Eating
healthily and exercising regularly can
help maintain hormone levels. Try to
avoid stressful situations which can cause
abnormal hormone production.
9
DITCH BREAD FOR A MONTH
Try to avoid bread for about a month
if you struggle with cellulite. Your body
treats bread as sugar and will increase
your chances of having cellulite. See if
you can cut it out entirely, and then watch
for the changes.
LECITHIN AND ESSENTIAL
FATTY ACIDS
Restore the dermal cells in your body to
their initial strength by eating foods rich in
lecithin. For instance, lettuce and soy have
plenty of lecithin, so try eating them daily.
A nice option for a meal could be a salad
with these items, including soy cheese.
Make sure you have a diet rich in essential
fatty acids. You might think all fats must
be avoided, but essential fatty acids are
needed. These essential fatty acids build
connective tissue that helps prevent
cellulite. It is important to look for healthy
ways to consume those essential fatty acids.
MASSAGE AREAS WITH CELLULITE
Though it may seem strange,
massaging the areas that have cellulite is
a good way to reduce its appearance. Try
using a scrub that contains caffeine to
tighten and strengthen your skin. This will
make your cellulite less visible. Also, try to
massage the area that is affected.
USE A COFFEE SCRUB
This can break down your fat
cells. Apply heated coffee grounds in a
scrubbing motion with a towel on the areas
with cellulite. After, wrap the scrubbed
areas in plastic wrap, so the grounds
stay warm and close to the skin. Keep it
applied for 10 minutes at the minimum.
You are not unhealthy or lazy just because
you have cellulite. Many women deal
with cellulite, and unfortunately, it is not
something that is easily removed. Realize
that your problem is not unique, and most
women have the same thing. After reading
this article, you should know everything there
is to know about cellulite. Use these tips, and
you will soon see smoother skin. You will be
happy with the results of your efforts.
AN 8-PART GUIDE TO
TEETH WHITENING
by
Matthew Dubose
Follow Us:
These 8 tips will help speed up the time required for you to get that flashing
white smile.
Suppose you have it all: a great
hair day, a flattering outfit
and a natural radiance to
your skin. But, your teeth are
kind of yellow and this can
make you feel less confident. Professional
whitening for your teeth can provide the
fastest results. To get the best results and
the whitest smile, a few visits are normally
necessary. Some of the best teeth
whitening techniques are only available
through a dentist. If a trip to the dentist
is not forthcoming though, here are some
suggestions to help whiten teeth!
1
OPTIONS ON
WHITENING STRIPS
If you have tried the two-hour teethwhitening
strips and now have more
sensitive teeth or gums, switch over to
strips designed to stay on for only 30
minutes. Even though the 30-minute strips
will take 14 days of twice-a-day applications,
they will help decrease gum sensitivity.
Read these 8 tips on purchasing health insurance and avoid the frustration of spending too much on
your policy.

Teeth whitening strips come in many,
highly affordable varieties. You place the
strip on your teeth and let it remain for a
set amount of time. Whitening strips used
to be a popular teeth whitening method,
but because of their bad results, their
popularity has faded.
2
USING WHITENING
PRODUCTS
See to it that you follow the directions
when it comes to the home whitening
products you are using. You will only
end up with an irritated mouth and
inflamed gums. Even worse, you could do
permanent damage to your teeth. Always
use your whitening products according
to directions as stated in the packaging.
Carefully follow the directions included on
any teeth whitening product you purchase.
You risk problems with your gums and
tooth sensitivity if you use these products
for longer than recommended on the
packaging. To further protect your teeth,
once you’ve finished the whitening, stay
away from acidic beverages like sports
drinks or sodas.
3
USING PRODUCTS ON
ARTIFICIAL TEETH
Teeth whitening is a fantastic method
as long as you still have your natural,
real teeth. Artificial surfaces, in fact,
will likely not be whitened at all. That
means those with artificial teeth like
crowns, fillings and veneers will have
to look to other cleaning options.
When you attempt to use teeth whitening
products and you have artificial surfaces,
you may not be happy with the results.
Most likely, your natural teeth will emerge
from the process whiter, while those with
artificial surfaces remain the same. Thus
creating an uneven color and not really
something you can flash around.
4
USING NATURAL PRODUCTS
Brushing with strawberry juice
is one method to whiten your teeth.
The juice is acidic and will make the
tooth enamel softer, enabling you to
eliminate much of the discoloration.
This is a relatively inexpensive way to
get the smile you have always wanted.
Whiten your teeth with coconut oil.
Organic is best. Every day, spend 10
minutes swishing a mouthful of coconut
oil over your teeth and gums. This is an allnatural
method of lifting stubborn surface
stains. After around 10 minutes have
passed, rinse your mouth out and brush
as you normally would. Results should be
seen after only a few days.
108 Issue 9 • October 2017

5
GOOD ORAL HABITS
Drinking water is a great thing for the
health of your mouth since it helps whiten
your teeth. The water will gently rinse your
mouth, preventing stains from developing
on your teeth. It is a healthy habit to
drink water during meals and afterwards.
Regular flossing and brushing of your
teeth is among the most successful
methods in whitening your teeth.
You can get rid of plaque that causes
discoloration by using these tips. You
should get into the good habit of brushing
and flossing your teeth after meals.
Don’t smoke. Smoking not only shortens
your lifespan, but makes your teeth look
nasty. A visual sign of a smoker is yellow
teeth. It can be difficult, if not impossible,
to keep your teeth white if you are a
smoker. If you can’t kick the habit, at least
try to cut back for the sake of your health
and your teeth.
6
EFFECTIVE BRUSHING
While brushing your teeth each
time you eat should be part of your daily
routine, this becomes even more important
after you have had your teeth whitened.
Food particles can cause the growth of
bacteria on your teeth. Whitening your
teeth softens them and causes them to
be more susceptible to bacteria growth
and damage. You can prevent that
damage by brushing after each meal.
If you are serious about whitening your
teeth, consider using an electric toothbrush.
Electric brushes are better at buffing away
stains caused by tobacco, wine and other
dark beverages. You might be surprised
by how well an electric toothbrush can
improve the whiteness of your teeth.
7
USING HOME REMEDIES
A mixture of baking soda and water
will prove to be a teeth whitening product
that is both effective and all-natural. Baking
soda can be used as a gentle abrasive
that can lightly polish away stains from
the surface of your teeth, making them
appear brighter and cleaner. For a quick
way to make it, wet your toothbrush at the
sink and then put the wet brush directly
into the baking soda to create the paste.
Hydrogen peroxide should never be used
for teeth whitening, despite urban myth.
It is not safe if you accidentally swallow
some and can also lead to uneven coloring
on your teeth. Steer clear of any product
that contains hydrogen peroxide. However,
if you have tried that it works for you, use
hydrogen peroxide carefully when you want
to whiten your teeth. Dip your washcloth
into this solution. When it is damp, rub it
against your teeth’s surface. The peroxide
will work to lighten stains and the wash
cloth will act as a scrubber.
8
CHOOSING ORAL CARE PRODUCTS
Use a mouthwash to whiten your teeth.
Don’t expect instant results from whitening
toothpastes and mouthwashes. These
mouthwashes have peroxide in them, which
can whiten your teeth. Before you brush your
teeth in the morning and before bed, swish
the mouthwash around for 30 seconds.
Avoid toothpastes that have fluoride in
them. Often misunderstood, fluoride is
actually chemical-based and is prevalent
is some foods, water and dirt. You should
avoid excess because it’s been proven to
discolor your teeth if you apply too much
on them. Choose a toothpaste free of
fluoride to naturally whiten your smile.
Now you can not doubt that a perfect smile
is totally attainable. Whether you see your
dentist or you want to experiment at home,
there are many options for you. Once you
have put these tips to good use, you will
have every reason to smile frequently
and feel great.
You need to maintain a
good sleep schedule if you
are prone to panic attacks.
Sleep deprivation can
increase the probability of
suffering a panic attack, and
reduce the effectiveness
of coping strategies. Allow
yourself to get a full eight
hours of sleep nightly.
FIND SUPPORT GROUPS
Do an online search for local support
groups that specialize in panic attacks.
This can help you see what others do to
deal with their problem, and it provides
you with a chance to vent to others who
you can trust to understand.
3
CONTROL YOUR BREATHING
You can ease the symptoms of
a panic attack by taking note of your
rapid breathing during an attack and
figuring out how to slow it down.
Make sure you control your breathing
because this will help make the attack
end sooner. To gain control while you
are having an attack, take deep breaths.
When you have a panic attack you can stop,
sit down, and start breathing. Use a deep
breathing technique wherein you breathe
slowly in through the nose, allowing
your stomach to rise, and out through
the mouth. Count to five for both the
inhalation and the exhalation. Try this ten
times, and you should feel much better.
Practicing deep breathing techniques
when you feel the beginning of a panic
attack will relax your muscles and make
you calmer. Having already learned
relaxation techniques, such as yoga or
meditation, will help you get through a
panic attack more easily, not only that, but
it can lessen the effects in the future.
DO NOT FIGHT A PANIC ATTACK
If you feel panic start to take
control of your body, try to go with it
instead of trying to fight it off. When you
put your mind towards fighting it, you
should be focusing on how the feelings
will pass. Let it come at you as calmly
as you can, and it will go away quickly.
Remind yourself of previous panic
experiences and that nothing disastrous
happened. Stay as calm as possible and
keep bad thoughts from entering your
mind, making the attack worse.
5
TRY TO STAY CALM
People who are afflicted with panic
attacks should note the circumstances
surrounding an attack. Just remind
yourself that this is an overstimulation
of your nervous system, and no harm will
occur to you physically. By doing this, you
will remind yourself that you are going to
be fine and the panic attack will soon pass,
which will help calm you. Panic attacks
are horrible, and this tip is not meant to
downplay that, though if you can adopt
this type of thinking, you will be able to
negate some of your panic.
6
KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN CONTROL
Always be aware that it is within
your control to know what instigates
a panic attack. If you are upset with
someone and are scared to talk to this
person about it, this could result in a
panic attack. Therefore, you should aim
to talk to this person in a healthy way in
order to get all of the emotions out of your
body. As a result, you won’t feel quite so
overwhelmed, which greatly decreases the
chance of an attack.
WRITE ABOUT YOUR
PANIC ATTACKS
Write about your experiences with panic
attacks and pass it along. You can do this
by writing an e-book, starting a blog, or
even speaking at engagements. Others
who suffer from panic disorders may be
able to give you some useful information.
8
LEARN TO ACCEPT
YOUR FEELINGS
One thing you can do to help calm your
panic and thoughts is to simply accept the
way you are feeling, even if it’s bad. These
feelings will not hurt you and may benefit
you in identifying the causes of your root
anxiety. Accepting all of your feelings may
open the door to healing for you.
9
IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF
THE PANIC ATTACK
Knowing why a panic attack is happening is
key to being able to manage it successfully.
Figure out what the issue is, and address
it immediately. Then, explain the reason
behind your inquiry.
DIVERT YOUR ENERGY
Many people that suffer from
panic attacks have a fight and flight
tendency. When you have success in
stopping a panic attack, write down the
behaviors and thoughts that helped you.
Try vigorously cleaning the house, or
following your favorite exercise routine. If
you focus the energy elsewhere, the panic
attack will quickly pass you by.
