“My client had bright pink hair but decided to let it grow out and
fade gradually. This left a regrowth of a base 8, banding with pink
tones, while mid length and ends had faded to a base 9 with gold
tones. We wanted a nice clean blonde to achieve a lilac colour melt
effect. I used a gentle lightener to lift hair to base of 10. Then, I
used different toners to even out the yellow and pink tones left
in the hair. I combed the lilac toner through from roots to ends to
create a colour melt effect.”

“For my entry, the client had expressed a desire to have the soughtafter
steel grey colour. Her hair was a dark base 4, so she had
one previous lightening session. To achieve the look, I used the
balayage technique using Revlon Professional Blonde Up and 6%
developer. The hair was separated and insulated to prevent the
lightener drying out using Procare balayage film. The hair was then
processed until a base 10 depth was achieved. I then washed the
hair and applied a tailored blend of Revlonissimo to tone the hair.”
