“What better way to show a client’s fearlessness than a standout
colour,” asks Ashleigh Hodges, creative director at Jamie Stevens
Hair. Steve Rowbottom, director at Westrow, says: “In contrast to
summer’s all-over highlighter hues, A/W17’s palette will be more
punk, but equally as daring, with cobalt blue and canary yellow
taking over from neon yellow and luminous green.” Meanwhile,
Fran Dixon, creative colourist at Hari’s Salon, couldn’t be
without L’Oréal Professionnel’s #COLORFULHAIR for creating
fashion colours and peek-a-boo hues. “They are perfect when
you want to create fun hues without the commitment,” she says.
For clients that can’t have a full-head of ‘out-there’ colour, Fran
suggests placing panels underneath for a flash of colour. “We
are seeing much braver requests in colour choice,” says Katie
Mulcahy, ambassador for Rusk UK. “Different shades work
together to add maximum impact. Whether it’s soft and pretty
or fierce and fun, we are creating shades to enhance shapes and
depth within hair.”
