Healing Journey
Free from Fear and
Fibromyalgia
“I can’t remember a time [when] I was not afraid,” Julieann
Hartman recalled. “My father was an alcoholic [and] a medicinal
drug addict; we never knew how he was going to come home.”
Then one night, her father snapped. “Mom had made a special
dinner for him. He didn’t like it and started yelling. He picked up
the table and threw it against the wall.”
He then grabbed a knife. When the children saw him press it
against their mother’s throat, they screamed, “Please don’t…don’t
do that…don’t kill her!” A moment later, their father disappeared
into a back room of the house, and Julieann’s mother took that
opportunity to gather their things and leave.
The courage Julieann’s mother displayed that day removed her
family from physical danger, but the fear and anxiety Julieann
experienced followed her into adulthood. Despite her success
as a fitness instructor and the joy of starting her own family, she
constantly battled the ghosts of her past. It seemed like nothing
could dispel the cloud of fear that colored her daily interactions—
not exercise or the fast-paced lifestyle she and her husband, a
Hollywood producer, kept.
“I tried so hard to rid myself of anxiety and fear. I kept a job,
classes, dancing…. I worked out until two in the morning so
I wouldn’t have time to be afraid,” Julieann said. “I just kept
running. The older I got, the faster I ran.” It wasn’t uncommon for
Julieann to work out five or six hours every day, at least until the
pain started.
“There was so much pain in my body, and it came from nowhere,”
Julieann said. “It started in my back, my legs, my hands…it felt like
I had the flu 24/7.” Doctors diagnosed Julieann with fibromyalgia,
an incurable disease that causes widespread muscle pain, extreme
2017 Autumn
fatigue, and mood swings. Julieann could no longer
exercise. She couldn’t control her emotions. She
struggled to be present in her children’s lives.
“Shortly after she stopped [exercising], I noticed
a huge change,” her husband, Butch, shared.
“Despair is a word I would use [to describe it].”
“It was a difficult period in my life,” Julieann
recounted. “In the mornings, [Butch] would leave
me crying with my head in my hands. And he’d
come home to me in the same position. I felt so
sick. My [greatest] hope was to just make it through
another day.”
“We were church-going people,” Butch said. “We
knew that Christ promised healing, but it just wasn’t
coming.” At one point, Julieann became so low, she
verbally released her husband from their marriage
covenant. “She told me I should leave. Had I not
had Christ in my life, I probably would have.”
But Butch knew that only perfect love could cast
out fear (1 John 4:18), so he was determined
to show that type of love to his wife. Whatever
Julieann needed to do, wherever she needed to
go, Butch was ready to make it happen. And for
three years, Julieann filled her planner with doctor’s
appointments, prayer meetings, and trips to the
pharmacy looking for a cure for her pain. But no
matter what new drug they tried or what specialist
they went to see, nothing seemed to help.
“I kept asking God, ‘Why are You not healing me?
What am I doing wrong? I don’t understand,’”
Julieann said. Nearly $300,000 in medical bills later,
Julieann was still not getting better. “We’d done
everything,” Butch attested.
But God was just getting started.
“I was home a lot,” Julieann said. “And I would
constantly leave the television on, playing every
ministry possible.” Then one day, she accidently
tuned in to the Gospel Truth program with Andrew
Wommack. For a woman accustomed to the lights
and sounds of Hollywood, Andrew didn’t seem to
offer anything to hold her interest. Yet something
compelled her to keep listening.
“This man came on [television], but he was so
boring. I was just sitting there with the remote in my
hand, ready to turn [the program] off. I don’t know
what his teaching was [about], but I heard him say
[he’d ministered to] a man who had Parkinson’s.
Andrew told [the man], ‘Just tell your hand to stop
shaking.’ So, the man did, and the shaking stopped.
That caught me.”
Julieann stopped what she was doing, went to her
computer, and started researching everything she
could find about Andrew. “I went online thinking,
Who is this man? What is he about?” And what she
found changed everything.
“I watched her devour every Andrew episode,”
Butch said. “She downloaded everything she
could get.” For two weeks, Julieann didn’t leave
her house. She simply sat at her kitchen table,
saturating herself in God’s Word. “I thought, This is
it! I canceled all my appointments and just listened
[to Andrew’s teachings] from the time I took my kids
to school until I had to pick them up.”
Through teachings like God Wants You Well and
You’ve Already Got It!, Julieann discovered that
God wasn’t holding out on her. Soon, she was
learning how to walk in her authority as a believer
in Christ. “I started walking through my hallways,
speaking my healing. I’d say, ‘[Body], in the name of
Jesus, stop being numb. Numbness, you are dead.
Get out of my body now, in the name of Jesus.’
I’d say, ‘Pain, get out of my body. Brain, you are
perfect; function the way you were made.’”
Julieann didn’t care what had been spoken over
her or what labels the doctors had given; she
rebuked each of them in the name of Jesus and
commanded her body to come back to life. “I just
kept doing that over and over. Then I’d go back to
the scriptures Andrew had walked me through.”
6
gt Gospel Truth

Soon the difference was undeniable: “One day, I
realized she wasn’t complaining about her knees,”
Butch said. “I [noticed] she was crying a lot less.
Then I’d see a smile, hear a laugh. I hadn’t heard a
laugh in years. It was the most amazing thing.”
But Julieann’s healing was much more than just
physical. “Fibromyalgia doesn’t just come on you,”
she said. “It comes from years of fear and emotional
abuse.” After years of learning to not trust her
earthly father, she had to relearn to trust her
heavenly Father. “My healing was progressive, but
only because I made it so. I wasn’t just healing on
the outside; I was learning who I was in Christ. That
was the missing link.”
Finding that missing link has not only opened up a
pain-free future for Julieann, but it has also stirred
her entire family to pursue all that God has for
them. They started the Hartman House, a nonprofit
organization that builds homes and provides food,
education, and spiritual growth in poverty-stricken
areas all over the world. They also hold weekly Bible
studies in Los Angeles, sharing Andrew’s message
with their community and encouraging those
around them to apply Christ’s atonement to every
area of their lives. But that’s not all.
The first time the Hartmans heard Andrew’s Don’t
Limit God teaching, Butch decided to start applying
its principles to his career. “The Hollywood industry
is an industry [where] everyone wants you to fail,”
Butch explained. “And when you don’t, they
wonder what it is that makes you succeed.”
And Butch is succeeding. With several shows
currently airing on major networks and hundreds
of additional ideas percolating in his mind, he has
started his own network of children’s programming,
called the Noog Network. “It’s a safe place for kids,
filled with cartoons, silly games, and news that’s safe
and entertaining,” he said.
“What we want to do is to give the money that
comes from the Noog Network into the dorms and
whatever else Andrew [wants to do],” Julieann said.
“We’re so on board with his vision.”
“It’s exciting to think that when you’re a partner
[with Andrew], everything this ministry accomplishes
goes [into] your heavenly account,” Butch said.
“Those doctors cost a lot of money,” Julieann said,
“but Andrew’s teaching was free!”
Living in God’s Best
I’m going to tell you something that might surprise
you: You can’t receive God’s best by accident.
God’s best is not like winning the lottery. Yes, the
Word says that God’s blessing will overtake you
(Deut. 28:2), but I guarantee that there needs to be
something intentional on your part if it’s going to
come to pass.
Many Christians are praying for God’s blessings but
aren’t receiving them. Their cups aren’t overflowing,
and their barns aren’t filled with plenty. When faced
with their lack, they tend to blame God. But the
truth is, God wants to bless you more than you want
to be blessed. It’s not His fault you aren’t receiving
His best; He’s already done His part. You need to do
yours. God has given me a revelation that I know will
help you receive what He has for you.
If I offered you five dollars or one hundred dollars,
without a doubt, you’d pick the hundred. You’d
probably say, “Cash, please.” But when God is the
one offering, many Christians—whether knowingly
or unknowingly—settle for less than God’s best.
Why is that?
Here God is, wanting to bless people with health
and abundance, and yet most Christians live
below His desire. He has blessed us exceedingly
abundantly above all that we can ask or think, but
it’s according to the power that works in us (Eph.
3:20). We need to close the gap between what
we’re experiencing and what God has promised
us. We need to arm ourselves with wisdom and
revelation so that we can position ourselves to
receive God’s best.
You might be thinking, I’m not doing so bad. I
just need a miracle to pay this bill, or to get this
healing, or to solve this problem. But guess what?
A miracle is not God’s best for you! In order to go
from miracle to miracle, you have to go from crisis
to crisis. Because God loves you, He will give you
a miracle so you can get through the crisis. But He
has a better way.
Don’t misunderstand me: Miracles are great—we
should expect to have miracles in our lives all
the time—but God doesn’t want us to live from
miracle to miracle. We should be thankful for God’s
miracles, but they are just manna for today. God
wants to take us into the Promised Land, where
His blessing is. We could say, “Well, at least I’m
doing better than that person,” but we need to
stop comparing ourselves among ourselves (2 Cor.
10:12). Even if we have a degree of comfort in our
lives, God has more. Praise God!
You really need to prepare your heart to receive
God’s best. It’s a process, and it starts with an
attitude that says, “God, I don’t want to live like this
anymore. I don’t want to see your promises from far
away. I know that you have more for me, and I want
to receive and live in Your promises!”
Gideon is a good example of a person who wasn’t
afraid to say that he didn’t have God’s best. The
Israelites were oppressed by the Midianites. While
Gideon was threshing wheat in the winepress
in order to hide from Israel’s enemies, an angel
appeared unto him and said, “The LORD is with thee,
thou mighty man of valour” (Judg. 6:12). Gideon’s
2017 Autumn
9

esponse was basically, “If I’m a mighty man of valor,
where are all the mighty works that our fathers told
us about?” In other words, he was saying that he
was sick and tired of living a substandard life. He
wanted God’s best, and the angel responded by
saying in essence, “Go in your might, and God’ll be
with you.” The angel commended and rewarded
Gideon for the kind of attitude he had, and God
surely gave him the victory.
You might be wondering, How do I change? There
is a lot I can say about this, but I’m going to give
you a few keys:
1) Change the way you think, and don’t settle for
less than God’s best! You need to understand
that receiving God’s best is not getting God to do
something. Don’t sit there begging God to do what
He’s already done. Instead, ask Him to help you
understand what He has already given you.
2) You also need to understand the difference
between a blessing and a miracle. A miracle
supersedes natural law for a temporary period of
time. To get a miracle, you need a crisis. Do you
know Christians who receive miracle after miracle
but struggle with lack all the time? That doesn’t
have to be you.
Him. It empowered them to prosper, to rule, to be
productive, and to enjoy eternity with Him. The
good news is, God wants the same for you!
If you’ve been going from miracle to miracle, you
need to understand the principles of how to receive
God’s best so you don’t have to struggle anymore.
Satan doesn’t want you to get this revelation,
because he knows nothing will stop you if you do.
And then, truly, the blessing will overtake you.
Even if you have heard me teach this before, I
believe that God will give you a fresh revelation.
This teaching will really answer some questions and
help you overcome obstacles that may have been
hindering you for a long time.
I have much more teaching on this subject. I know
these truths will change your life, if you let them.
My new book, Living in God’s Best, was released
in early 2017. I pray that you receive revelation
knowledge from the Holy Spirit as you read it.
To get this book, and for more teaching and other
free resources, visit our website: www.awmsa.net
or call our Office: 021-914-1110.
3) Living in the blessing supersedes a miracle. The
Bible talks a lot more about blessings than miracles.
Paul even wrote about how we go from glory to
glory (2 Cor. 3:18). God doesn’t want you to live by
miracles. He wants you to live in the blessing, so it’s
important to understand what the blessing is. Many
Christians might have a vague idea about what it
is, but they really couldn’t tell you. In a nutshell, it’s
the favor of God spoken over you and learning to
walk that out. And think about this: When the Lord
declares His blessing over you, nothing can stop it!
A miracle is just enough to get you by. It will never
be true abundance. In the beginning, when God
created Adam and Eve, He blessed them (Gen.
1:22). This blessing empowered them to live like
Expanding a Legacy—
Charis Bible Studies
“We are not in competition with any church
that is preaching the true Gospel, but there are
a lot of churches that aren’t. There are people
starving, and this can be a way for them to get
their needs met.” – Andrew Wommack
The number of ministries that come out of Charis
Bible College continues to grow as more and more
students understand their God-given destinies and
potential. One such ministry is Charis Bible Studies.
Birthed at Charis in just the last few years, this
program has already spread across the nation. One
of our Andrew Wommack Ministries writers, Jessica
Giaimo, sat down with the Charis Bible Studies
coordinator, Roger Williams, to give a behind-thescenes
look at the story of this incredible ministry.
Jessica Giaimo: How did Charis Bible Studies begin?
Roger Williams: Charis Bible Studies began as a
Third-Year Ministry School project by one of our
Third-Year students as a way to take the message of
grace and faith that Andrew teaches to his viewers,
listeners, and partners in a more personal way. It
is a fine example of the types of ministries that are
being birthed by graduates who find and then focus
on their calling by taking the additional step of
attending a Charis Third-Year track.
JG: How is this program being used?
RW: As the premier alumni benefit developed
for Charis graduates, Charis Bible Studies helps
to facilitate them into ministry immediately upon
graduation. Whether they plan to go into full-time
ministry or not, it gives them an avenue to minister
the Gospel of grace and faith with those who are
hungry [to hear].
Charis Bible Studies is [also] being used to spread
the Gospel in a more personal way. We are reaching
out into communities, giving people an opportunity
to get the Gospel down in their hearts…while
also giving those that attend an opportunity to
fellowship with believers of like faith.
JG: Why do you feel this program is important?
RW: The Charis Bible Studies program is important
because of the lives that it is touching and will
touch in the future. The people who attend our
studies don’t feel like they are out on an island
by themselves with only a television or computer
screen to tie them in with the ministry. They are
being impacted face-to-face. They get to ask
their questions and then get them answered by a
Charis graduate. They get to interact with the other
members of the study and form friendships and
relationships with those who are also being touched
by the Gospel. The program is [also] important to
our alumni because it gives them a practical way to
launch their [ministries] the same way that Andrew
launched his, [face-to-face] with a Bible study.
JG: What is the main purpose behind Charis
Bible Studies?
RW: To touch lives and to spread the Gospel of
our Lord Jesus Christ through a ministry program
specifically…to be led by Charis alumni.
JG: How does this program tie into Andrew and
his teachings?
2017 Autumn
15

RW: Charis Bible Studies are taught from one of
Andrew’s seventeen study guides. The study guides
are based on Andrew’s books. Each study guide
has one of his books in its entirety divided into
lessons. Each chapter is one lesson and includes
JG: Who is eligible to start a Charis Bible Study, and
what is that process like?
RW: Only second-year Charis Bible College
graduates (alumni) are eligible to start a Charis
Bible Study. Those starting these studies have been
taught the Gospel of grace and faith by Andrew and
our Charis Bible College instructors. We make the
process for an alumnus to become a group leader
as simple as possible. An application must be
completed online at www.CharisBibleStudies.net.
We ask for three references or recommendations,
one of [which] must be from a Charis or AWMI
staff member, or the applicant’s pastor. Once the
recommendations are reviewed and approved, we
send the applicant our handbook [of] guidelines
for conducting a Charis Bible Study. Once the
handbook is signed and the applicant passes the
test on the handbook, they are approved to post
and start their study.
JG: What has been the fruit so far since it began?
RW: As of this moment, we have 179 Bible studies
across the U.S. We have testimonies from group
leaders on how these studies are not only touching
the lives of the attendees, but they are also reaping
benefits in their own lives.
Attendees of the studies are being discipled,
building relationships, being prayed for, and getting
the fellowship with like-minded believers that [had
been] missing from their lives. We recently had a
coordinator at a Charis extension [campus], who
also is a Charis Bible Study group leader, tell of an
attendee at her study [who] enrolled in her [campus]
because they wanted more than one hour a week
16
gt Gospel Truth
of the teaching. That same attendee also brought a
friend to her study [who] has [also] decided to enroll
in the [campus].
JG: What are the projections and goals for the
future of the program?
RW: Our projection is that by the end of 2016,
we will have at least 300 Charis Bible Studies in
neighborhoods across the U.S. Our goal for Charis
Bible Studies is to expand…to countries outside of
the U.S., [starting] this year with Canada, the United
Kingdom, and South Africa. We have requests from
all over the U.S. and internationally from people
who would like to attend a study but don’t have
one available in their area. So, we are working hard
to achieve our goal of helping our alumni make
studies available online in a format that will allow
people to attend via computer or telephone. This
would enable attendees to hear the teaching, ask
questions, and interact with the [group leader], until
a physical study becomes available in their area.
Another goal is [to] develop a program that will
integrate Charis Bible Studies into the second-year
curriculum at Charis. This program will help Charis
students, including extension [campuses] and
international students, become knowledgeable and
experienced in leading a Charis Bible Study prior
to graduation. It will instill confidence in their ability
to lead a study or to start a ministry of their own
once they graduate. An added benefit will be that
second- and third-year students can start an online
study to minister to and build their support base
back home in order to be able to start a physical
Bible study, or even plant a church, when they return.
Beth Landt
Beth Landt’s nickname at Charis Bible College
Colorado is “liquid love.” Everyone who meets
her can testify of her supernatural kindness and
compassion. As dean of women, she tells her
students, “Put your seatbelt on and hold on tight
because this is going to be an amazing ride.” Her
life verse, Isaiah 61:1, marks her life and ministry:
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because
the LORD hath anointed me to preach good
tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind
up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the
captives, and the opening of the prison to them
that are bound.
With a heart bent toward counsel, Beth focuses on
binding the brokenhearted and setting the captives
free. This compassion was built into her years earlier
while she attended Charis.
As the youngest of six siblings and the only girl,
Beth was raised a fifth-generation native Coloradan.
She graduated from the University of Colorado at
Boulder but discovered through earning a degree
in psychology that the world doesn’t know how to
mend broken hearts quite like the Holy Spirit. “A lot
of the things they teach you in school don’t work,”
Beth said.
Beth was raised in a denominational church but
didn’t receive a solid biblical foundation. When
she was seventeen years old, one of her brothers
testified to them about his experience with Jesus.
He asked if she and her mom would go to a Full
Meet the Instructor
Gospel Pentecostal church. They went, and as the
pastor talked about being born again, it wasn’t
long before she was up at that altar. But not until
her forties did she hear Andrew Wommack and the
grace message for the first time.
Beth, her husband, and her daughter went to a
Vineyard church, and while in that church, she
received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. When she
discovered Andrew, his message came alive in
her. “I know that my jaw was just dropping,” Beth
recalled. She wondered why no one had taught
her this before. “The Sovereignty of God” cut Beth
to the core. She had been taught that God acts
independently of her actions, but Andrew’s teaching
opened her eyes to the true way God relates to
man—with grace and love. Spirit, Soul & Body
also explained many things for her that she wasn’t
able to put together on her own. The freedom she
gained from these two teachings only whetted her
appetite for more.
One day while she was listening to Andrew, he
started talking about his college, and Beth felt God
tugging on her heart to attend. They quickly made
plans to move to Castle Rock, Colorado, to be
closer to the local school. She started at Charis in
September 2006.
Beth described the training at Charis as being like a
firehose of information and revelation. “I was tearful
all those years, and at the end of my internship,
I was wondering what the point of all those tears
[was],” Beth said. “There was such an intensity
about it.” So, she asked God this question: “Lord, is
this You, or is this just me?” At the end of her Third
Year, Andrew came and prophesied over her with
her Third-Year intern group of about fifty people.
compassion that’s been built in you. The Lord says,
‘This is of Me. This is not of you.’ Just like Jesus,
as the compassion flows, healings and miracles
will follow.” He continued to say that he saw Beth
teaching in rooms just like the ones at Charis.
All of those prophetic words Andrew spoke over
Beth came to pass.
After graduating in 2008, Beth became registrar of
the school. Two years later, she was also given the
role of dean of women. All she has ever wanted
to do was help people, and this position allows
her to offer Spirit-led counsel. Beth stands beside
Barry Bennett, the dean of students, and makes
administrative and policy decisions, creates the
student handbook, enforces the decisions and
handbook, speaks at orientation, and more. But
that’s just part of it.
She also teaches Biblical Ethics and Morals with
Greg Mohr and Barry Bennett, as well as the Rest
in Him course. “Our heart is just getting the Word
of God to the students and having them whole and
healthy,” Beth said. But her main focus is laboring
to rest. “Labor is to get out of our own strength and
allow God to work through us.”
“All my life, all I’ve ever wanted to do was help
people,” Beth mentioned. “Since I’ve been a
student at Charis and [now] as dean of women, the
Holy Spirit has given me such beautiful revelation of
Holy Spirit tools to bind the brokenhearted and set
the captives free.”
Come to Charis and experience the freedom that
only comes from allowing the Word to change you.
When Andrew laid his hands on her, he said, “Beth,
there’s one thing I know for sure, and that’s the
From the Desk of
Andrew Wommack
LAST CHANCE
We are approaching our last chance to get our
Charis Bible College Colorado auditorium finished
and occupied by the summer of 2017.
At our present rate of spending ($750,000 per
month), we will not be able to occupy The
Auditorium until the spring of 2018. There is a
minimum of seven months’ work to be done at full
production before we can move in, but that would
take an expenditure of $1,572,000 per month to
accomplish. That is an increase of $822,000 per
month over what we’ve averaged.
So, I’m just apprising you of the situation and asking
one last time if you would consider helping us make
our summer 2017 goal.
You are one of 285,000 whom we mail to monthly.
We don’t communicate with those who have not
been active in the last twelve months, so you have
recently responded to our ministry. Only 34,000
of you are monthly partners. That leaves 251,000
people with the opportunity to sign up and be
a part of finishing the Charis auditorium by the
summer of 2017!
All it would take to meet our move-in goal of
August 2017 is a gift of $3 per month from these
251,000 people or a one-time gift of $25 from each
one. That is so easy! I believe everyone could have
10-cents-a-day faith.

And what would you receive for your participation?
Of course, you would be blessed by the Lord a
hundredfold in this life (Mark 10:30), but you would
also be helping us change the lives of people like
Bill and Jane Smith (not their real names).
Bill was in the military and worked alongside U.S.
Special Forces in Iraq that provided security for
dignitaries. He joined our security team while
attending Charis. Jane came with many physical
ailments that had basically sidelined her and
clouded the couple’s future. But after attending
classes for a short time, Jane was totally healed just
by sitting under God’s Word.
They have now graduated and are in the Middle
East learning Arabic and beginning a ministry to
Muslims. They are making a difference in this world,
as are the more than 6,000 graduates of Charis
who are scattered all over the world, fulfilling God’s
purposes for their lives.
But to reach farther and deeper, we need this
building. We currently have 781 students at
our Colorado campus. We have over seventy
campuses worldwide with more coming online,
but our Woodland Park, Colorado, campus is
where all the teachings are recorded and the
syllabi and administration originate. We are
bursting at the seams.
The projected enrollment for September 2017
will stretch us to the max in our current facilities.
Although we will do everything possible to
accommodate anyone who wants to come, I do not
believe the Lord will send us people if we can’t give
them a quality experience. Our new auditorium will
allow us to grow to 3,000 or 4,000 students at our
main campus.
Together we are going to get this done. I believe
the Lord will touch enough hearts to help us finish
this by next summer.
I don’t believe I can overstate how important the
ministry of Charis is. The answers to the world’s
problems aren’t going to come through politics.
The only answer for the sick condition of people’s
hearts is the life-transforming power of the
Gospel. I know that the Lord has supernaturally
raised up Charis to promote the true Gospel
throughout the United States and around the
world. It’s already happening.
Thanks for being a part of changing the world.
P.S. To become a Grace Partner, to increase your
partnership, or to give a special gift, please visit
021-914-1110.
I recently returned from an around-the-world trip. I
ministered in England, Indonesia, and Hong Kong.
Everywhere I went, I saw the impact our graduates
are already making. In Jakarta, an average of 2,000
people attended each service, primarily because
Charis graduates and a publisher had distributed
over 70,000 of my books translated into the local
languages. It was awesome! I had nothing to do
with that. Our graduates did this on their own.
That’s the kind of difference they are making all over
the world.
The People Behind the Pen
Andrew’s vision to take the Gospel message as far and as deep as possible is no small task. In
fact, it takes an entire ministry of over five hundred employees scattered in several different
departments. One of these is the Andrew Wommack Ministries Publications Department, the
people responsible for the creation and quality of all written and printed materials that find their
way into your hands. This powerful unit of only twelve employees have talents and experiences
as different as the stories that brought them here.
“I was on staff at Youth with a Mission for twenty-eight years,” recalled designer Kris Storey. “I
spent ten years in Thailand and the remaining years in Colorado Springs. After I left YWAM, I was
praying about what to do next, saw this job listed on the AWM website, applied, and was hired.”
“As a first-year student at Charis, I heard the Lord say that I should go and volunteer in
Publications,” said content assistant Eileen Quinn. “The publications coordinator at the time
found out I had been a writing and literature professor before coming here. She brought the
content supervisor down to meet me. He invited me to take a grammar/proofing test, and not
long afterward, he asked me to come on board.”
“There are three main areas of Publications,” explained manager Greg Troup. “Designers,
writer/editors, and proofreaders. So, when a job comes in, it will go to the writers to create the
text. Then it will go to the designers, who give it the look you’ll see on the shelf. The information
is then sent to proofreading, making sure all the things most people wouldn’t pick up on are
consistent with our brand image.”
24
gt Gospel Truth

“I love working in this department,” said content
assistant Aria Fischer. “I was concerned I’d have to
work a secular job after college, writing content that
compromised my conscience just to make a living,
but God protected me.”
It is a great responsibility and takes a team
of devoted people who understand both the
honor and the necessity to believe what they are
communicating about Andrew’s teaching. Eileen
further explained, “Whether I am writing about one
of Andrew’s teachings or whether I am promoting
the Charis Experience, readers sense the conviction
that comes from the truth I’ve received.”
The Publications Department proofreaders are an
essential part of spreading the message of God’s
grace that Andrew has been given. They know how
important it is for Andrew’s written products to be
clear and simple and correct. Proofreader Sylvia
Wells explained, “As long as people continue to
read, it will be vastly important for Andrew’s written
products to communicate his message effectively,
clearly, and with simplicity.”
“Helping Andrew have a voice in Spanish is part of
my calling,” Spanish translator Citlalli Macy shared.
“I was born in Mexico. I believe it’s very important
that authors like Andrew translate their materials
so that people in other countries can receive the
benefits of the message God has given them.”
Translating Andrew’s materials is not taken lightly,
as countless lives around the world depend on
receiving the Gospel truth through Andrew. It’s the
message that changes everything. So, no matter
what language Andrew’s work is translated into, it
must be accurate. Citlalli explained, “Accuracy is
very important. We are not translating a Pepsi ad.
We are translating a holy message.”
person’s voice in English, especially one as unique
and beloved as Andrew’s: “Writing is judged
more harshly than the spoken word. Printed text
lasts forever and can be interpreted positively or
negatively, sometimes depending on the reader’s
mood or bias. The background of this team makes it
safer for us to effectively convey Andrew’s heart; one
person may catch what the other wouldn’t consider.”
“Learning Andrew’s voice takes time and also a
diligence to respect the transcripts that we work
from,” Eileen said. “[I]t’s Andrew’s message, not
mine. I’m just crafting articles, letters, emails, or blogs
to carry that message to our friends and partners.”
After all the interviews, research, editing, writing,
and rewriting, the AWM Publications Department
does not go home thinking about deadlines,
comma rules, or their countless trips to the
coffeemaker. Their day ends knowing that they
are truly making an impact in this world for the
Gospel. “It’s an honor to work for this ministry at any
capacity,” shared Aria. “I feel so blessed to support
a ministry that isn’t ashamed to speak up for the
Word and put action to those convictions.”
As Andrew continues to preach the Gospel, our
Publications Department will be there to share it in
written form, but they could not do this without the
help of our friends and partners. Because of you,
our Publications Department is able to maximize
the power of Andrew’s teachings around the world.
So, the next time you pick up a book or newsletter,
lead a small group through a study guide, or open
up an email from Andrew, remember the team that
you have enabled to spread the Gospel throughout
the world.
Accuracy does not end with translations. Aria
shared a similar challenge when capturing another
The
My husband and I have been so blessed by Andrew ministry. We watch him on TV and listen to lots of
his audios and videos.
Lately, I had been having pain in my breasts and armpit. When I checked with a doctor, he found
nodules in the areas where I was experiencing pain and recommended a mammogram.
I had already listened to the “Harnessing your Emotions” series and “Living in the Balance of Grace and
Faith”. I then studied the “God Wants You Well” series to be sure I had God’s perspective regarding my
health situation.
Today, I received news that the mammogram was clear. I sensed God’s reassurance, even as I was waiting
for the Radiologist’s results after the xrays and ultrasound. The Word of God for healing was an anchor
for my soul during this time. I held onto all the scriptures where Andrew mentioned “Jesus healed them
all”. I wrote them out and repeated them, knowing that since Jesus is still the same yesterday, today and
forever - out of compassion and love, He has provided everything for my healing. And I received it! I’m
so grateful for God’s mercy and kindness towards me and my family.
I thank God for Pastor Andrew and his team. His teaching is a real Godsend. We still cannot get over
the fact that his materials can be downloaded free of charge. God bless you for that - we might not have
been able to get all the materials if we had to pay for them.
I was not able to get to a church for nearly 8 years as I have no transport and don’t drive, but the Lord
enabled me, in that time, to get DSTV and I began to watch Andrew. WELL, I know I learned more in
these past 4-5 years than I ever did in all my walk with the Lord (36 years). No offence to my previous
fellowship and the teaching I received there - none at all - but this is on a totally different level. Eish!
Message Changes Everything… and Here’s the Fruit!
I am a Social Worker and I minister God’s word when I counsel
residents in my workplace. My own life has been changed by Andrews
Teachings and the Living Bible Commentary. I thank you Andrew, and
every Bible teacher in AWM and Charis Bible College for your courage in
fulfilling God’s purpose for your life. This morning I could encourage others
by saying that the fight of faith is not fought solely for ourselves, but for every
person God wants to touch through the purpose He called us for. Therefore, when things are
tough we should not give up. The fight is in our minds, but we should not give up - not only for our sake, but
also for others who need to hear our testimony. I obtain so much understanding through the teachings which
enables me to walk the road of fulfilling my
life-purpose and not give up the fight. I thank God our Father for blessing faithful ministers and teachers of
AWM and Charis Bible College, may you go from strength to strength. I am looking forward to when I will
be a fulltime student at Charis Bible College because I know God has called me to teach His word, and this is
my ultimate purpose and what keeps me going when the going gets tough. I want to live everything God has
written on my heart and has spoken over my life and see it come to fulfilment until Jesus comes to make perfect
our bodies and souls to match our spirits. Amen
Living Devotional Taken from Andrew’s Living Commentary
We Are a Royal Priesthood
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;
that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his
marvellous light.
1 Peter 2:9
New Testament believers are in a category all their own. They truly are God’s chosen people.
The word “generation” here was translated from the Greek word genos, and this Greek
word means “kin” (Strong’s Concordance). It was translated “race” in the Amplified Bible,
Weymouth’s New Testament, Today’s English Version, Darby’s Translation, Young’s Literal
Translation, New Revised Standard Version, English Standard Version, New American Standard
Bible, and the American Standard Version. It is specifying a race or nation of people and not
just a generation as we use the word today.
In the Old Testament, there were kings with physical authority and there were priests with
spiritual authority. But the NT saints have both. We are a royal priesthood (Rev. 1:6 and 5:10).
All believers combined—i.e., the body of Christ—comprise a holy nation. We should feel a
greater affinity with our holy nation than with the physical nation of our birth.
The word “peculiar” used here in 1 Peter 2:9 does not mean strange or weird as we often use
it today. It is speaking of the body of Christ as being a purchased people. The Amplified Bible
renders this as “[God’s] own purchased, special people.” The American Standard Version
says, “A people for God’s own possession.” The New International Version says, “A people
belonging to God.” See Deuteronomy 14:2, 26:18-19; and Titus 2:14.
It is the calling of every member in the body of Christ to glorify God before others (Matt. 5:16).
The Lord told Moses and the children of Israel that if they would keep His covenant, they would
be a peculiar treasure, a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation (Ex. 19:5-6). They refused this
offer (Ex. 20:18-21). But that’s exactly what Peter said we have become.
Our African Expansion
AWMSA is expanding...
Last year we purchased the
neighbouring office to further establish
our vision for reaching deeper into Africa
with the Gospel. Not only will this allow us
to establish a prayer centre which will receive calls from all over Africa, but it will also facilitate a
training centre whereby newly appointed Directors of AWM (called to other African countries) will
receive valuable knowledge on how to effectively manage an AWM office with excellence.
The light of the glorious Gospel is going forth and setting the standard - It’s time for Africa!
Thank you for making this possible by standing with us either financially or in prayer - we appreciate
your love and support very much. Great is your reward!
