begin in Neu-Ulm. 

For us, there is only one way to bring to life the high standards of seating comfort 

in our coaches and buses for you and your customers. And that is to develop and 

manufacture our seats ourselves according to our own unmatched quality standards. 

This is exactly what we have been doing for over 60 years at our seat manufacturing 

facility in Neu-Ulm. In fact, we are the only coach and bus manufacturer 

in Germany to do this. Every year, our factory produces up to 200,000 seats 

guaranteeing the most comfortable coach and bus tours in the world.

Whether on a long distance tour or a day trip, for your passengers, their stay on board is the first 

destination. And because your passengers have high expectations of their journey, you as an 

operator also place the highest demands on the quality and comfort of your seats. Demands that 

our seats from Neu-Ulm have been fulfilling for many decades. 

Ergonomically shaped, low-vibration backrests, spring-suspension seat cushions, foam parts 

for seats and backrests, as well as outstanding legroom, all come together to ensure enhanced 

comfort you can feel. The seat backrest and lateral adjustment are as intuitive and effortless 

to use as the armrests, which can be easily raised or folded down. In terms of materials, you can 

select from a variety of different fabrics all the way through to our hard-wearing and extremely 

easy-care “Composition” – a fascinating and highly advanced material made of natural leather. 

We take safety seriously. 

More safety for passengers and drivers: UN ECE Regulation 118. 

Furthermore, the seats can be customised to suit your very specific comfort requirements with 

countless equipment and feature options. Thanks to weight optimisation, the Setra seats even 

make a valuable contribution to your vehicle’s overall cost-effectiveness. 

The new version of UN ECE Regulation 118.02 requires newly registered buses from summer 2020 to have additional 

fire test certificates for materials in the interior, engine compartment, and separate heater compartments. Having 

the greatest possible safety is a core value for Daimler Buses and compliance with the statutory requirements 

a self-evident duty. Therefore all materials now used in the interior of our buses are being tested, and where 

necessary respecified. 

The modifications undertaken for plastics are not noticeable to the eye or touch. As part of qualification in accordance 

with UN ECE Regulation 118.02 the collection of our seat cover materials is also being changed. The only restriction 

will be in the variety of colour shades and patterns (designs) available. The quality requirements of Daimler Buses 

for the textiles of the seat materials in its collection will remain at the existing high level. We would ask you to be 

aware that the appearance and feel of the materials illustrated in this brochure may change due to these design 

optimisations in the interest of safety.

our customers’ wishes. 

There are moments when even the superb equipment and comfort level of a 

Setra seat may not be enough: journeys where your passengers expect something 

extra special. When it comes to fulfilling these special seating requirements, 

we are also the right partner for you. Our experienced specialists will, for example, 

bring to life an individually designed club corner seating concept. For extra 

special trips and other exceptional applications, we will be happy to equip your 

Setra with high quality 2+1 VIP seating – with three luxurious seats per row. 

However, even if you wish to increase the number of seats, we will find just the 

right solution for you. 

Ideas for barrier-free, accessible travel. 

Do you offer travel experiences for people with reduced mobility? We will be 

happy to provide you with a customised solution for the barrier-free furnishing of 

your coach or bus – including a wheelchair lift. For line and intercity coaches and 

buses, we also offer cinema and sliding seats, quick-release seats or face-to-face 

folding seats. If you have very unique requirements for the seating in your coach, 

our specialists will be happy to assist you.

on luxury tours – thanks to extensive standard equipment and its high safety standard. The attractive seat design 

is even further enhanced by the optimally harmonised cover variations. 

The Setra Voyage, as standard equipment, offers you everything required for relaxed seating. For example, 

seat back adjustment, lateral adjustment, integrated grips or the new, patented Setra armrest: with a single action 

it disappears to the side below the seat without blocking the middle aisle. 

Its safety concept wants for nothing either: with integrated safety belts, defined impact zone, intuitive operation 

and the use of energy absorbing materials, passengers seated in a Setra Voyage feel reassured in every

Driver's and attendant's seats. 

An ergonomically designed driver’s seat minimises 

tension and strain, promotes mobility 

and ensures that the driver can concentrate 

on the road without fatigue. This is why Setra 

makes sure that driver’s seats provide ideal 

support to drivers as they carry out their highly 

responsible tasks. 

All driver’s seats feature a powerful anti-vibration 

system and can be set to suit the driver’s 

body contours with just a few easy adjustments. 

And it is possible to individualise the seats in 

many different ways, e.g. with a swivel feature, 

air conditioning, heating and your choice of 

material. 

As an option, we will equip both the driver’s and 

the attendant’s seat with the fabric selected 

for the passenger seats. This results in a uniform 

look for your coach’s interior. 

Grammer driver’s seat. 

Intelligent technology, ideally positioned controls and 

a series of first class ergonomic features rank among the 

outstanding characteristics of this high quality driver’s 

seat. The Grammer seat – standard equipment on almost 

all Setra coaches – supports the driver perfectly. 

ISRI driver’s seat. 

For the TopClass and ComfortClass models, the optional 

ISRI driver’s seat from the 500 series is equipped with an 

innovative height adjustable safety belt outlet that enables 

even more driver comfort. Additionally, an integrated 

pneumatic system not only simplifies seat adjustment but 

also allows the seat back contour to adjust to the driver’s 

body shape. 

Setra’s attendant’s seats. 

Setra’s folding attendant’s seats are state-of-the-art in terms 

of ergonomics and designed for functionality – and you can 

choose between single and double seats. Depending on the 

vehicle series, the backrests can be adjusted either manually 

or electrically, and the seat can be pushed forward through 

two locking points at 35 or 70 millimetres. Thanks to its 

compact design, the seats provide more room for entering 

the coach, as well as for a refrigeration unit or storage compartment 

at the front. And when down, they offer attendants 

a comfortable, anatomically designed seat to work from.

Electronic vehicle components (e.g. Airbag Control Unit, Engine Control Unit) contain data storage for vehicle Technical Data, including but not limited 

to Diagnostic Fault Codes in the event of a malfunction, vehicle speed, braking force, or operating conditions of the Restraint System and Driver Assistance 

Systems in case of an accident (no audio and no video data recording). This data is either stored volatile, punctual as snapshot e.g. Diagnostic Trouble Codes, 

over a short period of time (a few seconds only) e.g. in case of an accident or in aggregated form e.g. for component load evaluation. The data can be read 

using interfaces connected to the vehicle. Trained technicians can process and utilize the data to diagnose and repair possible malfunctions. The manufacturer 

can use the data to analyze and improve vehicle functions. When requested by the customer, Technical Data can form the basis of additional optional services. 

In general, data from the vehicle is transferred to the manufacturer or a third party only according to legal allowance, or based on a contractual customer 

consent in accordance with data protection laws. Further information regarding storage of vehicle Technical Data is provided in the vehicle Owner’s Manual. 

Setra Buses and Coaches naturally handles customer data confidentially.
