the business by building a convenience
store, fencing off the property and buying a
business vehicle.

In 2015 Masisizane provided Lucas with
a loan which he used to acquire two more
overland diesel tanks, each with a capacity
of 9 000 litres. He also had the foresight
of having an awning constructed that would
provide much-needed shade to his customers
and employees in this extremely warm part of
South Africa with its harsh climatic conditions.

As a well-respected and concerned member of
the Mashashane community, Lucas Ledwaba
recognised the deficit caused by a lack of
internet access in the area.
To redress this he provided an office on the
MFS premises to a young unemployed youth
from the area who now successfully operates
the only Internet Café in the area, providing
services ranging from faxing to internet access.
