Remember the Moment

What are
Opera Bracelets?
Opera Bracelets are jewelry specially
designed to evoke the wearer’s favorite
operas.
Each bracelet uses symbolism through
charms, special beads and colors to
represent special opera moments.
Thus the tagline
“Remember the moment”
The idea for opera bracelets was born
while designer Cindy Battisti was
standing in the Met Opera Shop...

In 2007, artist Cindy Battisti was on a mission
to check off an item from her bucket list:
Attend a Saturday matinee performance
at the Metropolitan Opera!
“When I listened weekly to the live broadcasts
on the radio, I wanted to be able to say:
‘I was there’
So that February, my husband Andrew and I
attended Die Walkure at the Met to celebrate
our wedding anniversary.
Afterwards, I visited the Met Opera Shop...

There were many beautiful pieces of jewelry,
but I couldn't help noticing that nothing really
evoked Die Walkure. Right then, I had an
idea...
At home, working with beads, I came up with
my own bracelet as a memento for that experience
of seeing Die Walkure at the Met. It was
then that the “light bulb went off!”
I realized bracelets could be made for other
operas and knew that if I was looking for
Fast something forward tangible to a snowy to connect me to my opera
January memories, day probably in 2008... other passionate opera
lovers were also.
By 2010, Opera
Bracelets was open
for business!

Mimi and Moonlight
Inspired by... La Boheme
Blue crystals set the scene of the deep and beautiful
winter’s night. Clear crystals evoke snowflakes and
glass stars symbolize starlight. The full moon is a luminous
glass “sea opal”. Glass flowers represent
Mimi's words about flowers in her aria, " Mi chiamano
Mimi". Glass hearts evoke love. The key charm represents
the lost key Rodolfo finds, while the angel wing
heart symbolizes Mimi’s pure love and sad fate. A candle
charm indicates the reason Mimi has stopped at
Rodolfo's door- it has blown out in a draft...
return. She sings of how she will see him returning
to her from afar. We want to believe with her and
knowing we cannot is all the more heartbreaking.
