Trees consist of two different layers which alternate constantly. The early wood layer grows before the<br />
summer and the late wood grows in the second half of the year. During the so-called structuring process,<br />
the softer early wood is removed using brushes.
Special <strong>Mink</strong> brushes fitted with steel wire and abrasive bristles are used for this procedure. They strip off<br />
the different layers and remove wood fibres. This results in a structured wood <strong>surface</strong> which is suitable for<br />
varnishing and staining.
