This magazine has been
designed to showcase
our fabulous women of
Toowoomba and reassure
anyone out there that you are
not alone with your thoughts,
fears and dreams of
becoming a mum and or a
business woman.
I started this magazine in the
hope of meeting with more
women in Toowoomba and
surrounding suburbs—people
who I could connect with and
relate to. I was overwhelmed
with the response that I
received and was pleasantly
surprised with the diversity of
the businesses and what our
women are achieving.
When interviewing these
wonderful women I made it
very clear I wanted raw honest
answers—I am not ready to
hear that other women have it
all together managing to run a
successful business and have
the home and kids in order
as well And thankfully the
answers were honest, funny,
real, professional and relatable.

Upon meeting Aimee for the first time you get a sense that you have known her
for a lot longer she is raw and honest with so much compassion you can’t help
but want to reconnect with her.
Hard work is what Aimee and her husband know – they commenced a building
company together and worked in this business for over 6 years, and Aimee was
also working full time as a hairdresser so life was very busy. Looking at this young
couple anyone looking in from the outside would of thought that they had it all,
however when it came to conceiving their first child they both travelled to hell
and back to finally having their first baby daughter through surrogacy.
Aimee’s passion to support women throughout all their facets of life is what she
looks forward to every day “Helping women embrace their beauty is a huge deal
to me, if by changing someone’s hair, eyebrows or giving them that bronzed glow
to encourage them to put on that little black dress makes them happy – then I
am a happy lady”
Above all Aimee is fiercely independent but feels that we need
to support each other more “I seriously
think the world would be a better place
if we encouraged each other instead of
competing and discriminating other
people.”
Being a Mum, a wife, and a business
owner is what Aimee loves and the
struggle is real there are days where
Aimee is on top of the world and then of
course there are the days where 6 black
coffees can’t muster the energy…..

For most of us the words Accounting, Tax Returns,
Budgets, Invoices ARRGGHH – is the sound we right
sided brain people scream when we think of those
words. However, Kylie Dungey loves helping people
understand the numbers side of their business and
why it’s nothing to be scared about.
Flexibility is one of Kylie’s point of difference, by offering
a mobile service for clients that are unable to get
to Kylie she will come to you, making the experience
once again a lot less daunting.
There are many facets of Kylies business, she has a
degree in Accounting and is a registered BAS Agent,
however she also accommodates for clients that just
need a hand to set up their accounting software and
how to process the day to day bookkeeping / payroll
and lodge BAS – for these clients she is happy to check
in with them from time to time depending on what
they require. Or if you are like me which prefer their
accountant to do it all then Kylie can take care of it
all, so you can get on with what you truly love doing.
Working around her children and family life is something
that is very attractive to Kylie whilst running
her successful business “There’s nothing like that
smile from your child when you turn up to reading
groups” says Kylie. Most of Kylie’s work is done while
the boys are at school and once they go off to bed – so
it is not uncommon for Kylie to be sending emails out
at 10pm.
Kylie’s main aim is to provide an accounting business
that offers her clients exactly what they need – flexibility,
understanding and she makes you - as her client –
relax allowing you to focus on what you love doing…
Just a hint though if you want to impress Kylie I am
thinking a Zarraffas Coffee and Butterscotch muffin
might be the way to do it.

Life is busy and planning and prioritising is important when you’re a mum to
two boys and running a successful property styling business, however there is
always the unexpected interruptions that do happen on a daily basis – which
takes patience and keeping an open mind.
Michelle Hickey is one of those ladies that is like a swan on a lake from above
the water she is graceful and calm, however under the water she is paddling
away to be sure everything gets done in the day.
Unlike most of us if the house gets a little unruly, then we can close the door
and deal with that tomorrow – having a clean, tidy and presentable home is
an important consideration for a property stylist. So, if Michelle could wave
that magic wand than having someone come in and take care of the daily
tasks would be her wish, so she can get on with being creative.
By biting the bullet and launching her business has allowed her freedom to
spend more time with her husband and boys and to nurture Michelle’s creative
side providing the well-balanced work and home life.
Being out and about working with clients is what makes Michelle’s heart sing.

wanting that “wow” factor to enjoy every day” The property styling has
