like the other yang tonics too. The combination of tea and tablets is excellent and is very
effective to restore the Yang. It is important to be diligent and follow the treatment for
few months in order to obtain some stable results.
Contraindications
Rinchen Tea should not be given in case of infectious diseases, heat, empty heat, phlegm
heat, psychosis and damp heat. Rinchen Tea is also contraindicated during pregnancy,
especially after the third month. The patient should also refrain from cold food and
drinks, green salad, sprouts, dairy products, coffee, green and black tea and peppermint
tea.
Preparation
The Rinchen Tea can be prepared in two ways. The first is the infusion and the second the
decoction. The decoction is definitely stronger and more efficient and should be used, if
the infusion doesn't help or in case of chronic ailments. Three cups a day are normally
enough. I would always recommend to drink the Rinchen Tea in the morning (large
intestine time) in order to replenish properly the quintessence of the body. This herbal
tea, like all the other ones, should always be drunken warm, some honey can be added
too.
Hot infusions
Basic method
1- Scoop 1-3 tablespoons of dried herb into a strainer.
2- Heat 1/4 liter of water until it just comes to boil.
3- Place strainer in your cup.
4- Pour hot water over herbs and cover to keep the essential oils from escaping.
5- Let infuse for 5 to 15 minutes and strain.
Decoctions
Decoctions are simmered teas that are perfect for the extraction of hard roots, dried
berries, barks and seeds. It is actually the best method if one wish to get a quick result.
Basic Method for decoction
1- Place 3 big spoons (or even more) of dried herbs into a small sauce pan (never use
metal, but instead clay, glass or ceramic).
