IMPORTANCE, AIMS AND POSSIBLE OUTCOME OF RESEARCH<br />

Our research group has been studying the effects of silver nanoparticles on ABC<br />

transporters and their enhancing effect on chemotherapy in multidrug resistant<br />

cancer. We found that silver nanoparticles inhibit the efflux activity and also the<br />

expression of ABC transporters which feature can be exploited in combinational<br />

drug therapy. Currently, we study the combined effect of gold nanoparticles and<br />

radiotherapy on breast cancer cells. Our aim is to find nanoparticles that can be<br />

used as combinational partners in chemoterapy.<br />

AIMS DURING HER CAREER<br />

I want to continue my studies in medicine and proceed with my academic training<br />

at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Szeged. Upon graduation, I<br />

would like to become a practicing physician as well as a researcher in the field of<br />

immunology.<br />
