IMPORTANCE, AIMS AND POSSIBLE OUTCOME OF RESEARCH
Breast and ovarian cancer are the most frequent tumorous diseases in women.
More than 22% of patients have BRCA gene mutation. Efficient targeted therapy
has been discovered recently. Allelic loss (Loss-of-Heterozygosity) is the most
frequent type of somatic inactivation of BRCA. In Hungary, there is no applicable
method for detecting LOH. So, our aim is to develop a routine genetic test to
detect allelic loss, which is based on next-generation sequencing.
AIMS DURING HER CAREER
As a doctor I always wanted to cure my patients as efficiently as possible. I would
like to apply the new diagnostic methods and therapies which means a lifetime
learning and research.
