Hello once again. This issue of my eMgazine is a little later getting to you
than I had hoped and while thiss issue has never been far from my mind it
has taken a back seat lately while other parts of the business have taken
my attention.
My first edition of my eMagazine is still getting a lot of attention and I have
now had nearly 500 people view it, which just blows me away. while my
second edition has also been viewed over 350 times. I thank all of you,
who haven taken the time to read my emagazines and I hope each one
has given you some helpful tips while giving you some great insight into
myself and my business, that is such a big part of who I am. In the
business world they say your business shouldn’t be your identity but as
those that know me know I put so much of myself into my business
because I care for each and every one of my clients, some of my clients, I
have such a close relationship with, that I can sincerely call them a friend.

Upcoming Event
I will be holding a Bridal Runway at the Upcoming Albert River
Winery this Sunday with free entry on the day to their bridal expo.
If you haven’t been out to Albert River Winery now is your chance
with their bridal expo on this Sunday. It has a couple of great areas
for your wedding ceremony including a gorgeous little church or the
Jacaranda ceremony area if you are after a garden ceremony and
you along with your guests won’t have far to go for the reception,
with a beautiful ball room at the winery or if you always thought of
dancing the night away on a gorgeous deck, then the historical
Tamborine house on the winery grounds would be the ideal place
for your reception.
I will be holding a Bridal Runway on the day for you to find your
perfect Wedding Dress (and I will also have some of my designer
dresses on sale for you on the day) I hope to see you there.

Upcoming Event
The Ideal Bride Team have found a new home for their
next Brisbane Expo - the Brisbane Race Club, Eagle Farm
I can say from first hand experience from our last photoshoot
that was held at Brisbane Racing Club, that it is a fantastic location
for such an event and I know many of my brides have
chosen it as their venue for the receptions.
I will be there to great all the lovely brides to be
and my designs will be back on the runway. Come along and
you could be a lucky bride to win one of my designer veils.

CLAUDIA’S WISH
Being a Designer with my own business means that I have
the opportunity to help different causes for example: I have
helped the daffodil foundation by creating a dress for a
charity function.
This year I was so overwhelmed when Courtney Thorpe
(Miss World 2014) asked if I would like to help the Make a
Wish foundation.
I was able to help little Claudia’s wish come true. Claudia
has had such a hard life and her wish was to be a
princess.
This was a request Courtney and I were able to make
iappen for Claudia. Courtney provided a beautiful crystal
crown full of pink crystals and I donated a pink layered
chiffon and lace dress to complete the wish and Claudia
felt every bit the princess.

BRIDAL FEATURE
Tahnee Ashley and Her Husband Mark
are not only on the cover in a beautiful
image captured by Jashan Photography,
but they are also my bridal Feature this
issue. I first met Tahnee in December 2016
when Tahnee and her mum first walked
into my boutique to try some dresses on.
Q How did you approach finding
your perfect Wedding dress? Did
you do a lot of Research & use
sites such as pinterest?
A: From when I was little I always
had in mind what my perfect dress
would look like and thought all
dresses were perfect. When it
actually came to looking for my
wedding dress I still had in my
head what was right for me but
had an open mind to try others. I
searched through Pinterest and
online just for ideas but still knew I
had to have it made if it was going
to be 'the one'
While it is hard for any bride to choose a
wedding dress for their beautiful day,
they also need to believe in the boutique
that they choose their dress from as from
the time that Tahneenand I met there would
be just over a year to her wedding. Which
meant a year of Tahnee trusting that I would
be there from beginning to end, giving
her the dream dress for her beautiful
wedding, I form a special bond with
all my brides and value deeply the trust
they put in me. Tahnee chose my
Chandelle lace dress which was hand
beaded with swarovski crystals and beads
and teamed with my 2 layer fintertip veil,
I am sure you will agree, that Tahnee and
Mark are a beautiful couple.

Q. How soon after your engagement did you start trying on wedding dresses?
A: The first time I tried a wedding dress on was the weekend of our
engagement party, four months after we were engaged as this was the first
opportunity all bridesmaids were going to be together and I valued their
opinion.
Q. How many bridal shops did you go too & How many dresses did you try on
before finding The One?
A: In total there were 4 stores and 9 dresses before going to JK Couture and
meeting Jo who made me 'my one' and I'm so glad she did. I was beginning to
get so deflated by the whole experience but when I met Jo she gave me a
whole sense of confidence and instilled to me my dress would be perfect.
Q. Was your wedding dress the style that you always thought you would wear
or was it totally different?
A: Jo took everything I wanted in my head and made it reality – it was perfect
and perfect for our day. It fitted me and who I am perfectly I couldn't have
been happier.

Q. How did you find the experience
of going into bridal shops to find the
perfect dress?
A: Initially it was exciting as every girl
wishes for their wedding however
toward the end it became
overwhelming – all I can say is thank
God I met Jo!
Q. What made you decide that your wedding dress was the Perfect
One for you.
A: My decision was made when I felt I
was being listened to, I knew that my
dress would fit me and my body
shape, I knew when I stepped into
that dress on my wedding day I would
feel beautiful and it was the dress I
should walk down the aisle to marry
the man of my dreams in and also the
price, Mum loved it (lol).

Tell us about your Beautiful Wedding Day.
My beautiful wedding day started 5 years ago when I met Mark. We met in a
pub where I was working at the time (I knew his drink order before I knew his
name). He is my polar opposite but also my perfect. After 3 1/2years of
dating Mark took me to his family farm at Flagstone Creek and in the middle
of a summer storm, and drenched from the rain, while in the shed he asked
me to be his wife. I initially asked if he was serious but when I realised he
was I said yes!
After many months of planning we were married at the beautiful Gabbinbar
Homestead in Toowoomba surrounded by 60 family and friends. I had 4
gorgeous bridesmaids and Mark, 4 handsome groomsmen.
I always knew I wanted to be a little different so not only did I have my
brothers escort me to my Dad but I also planned with them, to dance down
the aisle (Mark met me dancing behind the bar – he sure as hell was going to
see me dance down to meet him). Dad then walked me to Mum, where both
gave me to Mark.
His first words to me were … you look hot, no, no you look stunning! (with a
tear in his eye)
We had a magical day the whole way through and to top of our night we had
a slideshow of photos from the day from our photographer along with
fireworks over the Conservatory (reception hall) to surprise our guests as we
cut our cake.
We were spoilt from the time our day started to when it came time for us to
go from all of our amazing suppliers

Q. What advice would you give to brides as
they start their journey on finding the Perfect
Wedding Dress?
A. My best advice for a bride searching
for her dress would be to stick to what you
want and your price range, be open to try
anything as it may surprise you and don't
loose faith – you will find the perfect dress,
you will look like a princess and no matter
what you are beautiful
Also your hubby-to-be is not looking at the
dress – he's looking at the woman in it, the
woman he is going to make his wife.

FASHION TIP
One of my favourite Fashion
Accessory love is jewellery
especially costume jewellery
such as chandelier Earrings -
there is one problem, they
don’t always love my ears.
If your ears are the same and after wearing
cheap earrings for a little while, you find
that your ear lobes start itching and
burning, you have two solutions.
1. Only purchase expensive gold or sterling
silver earrings which your husband/partner
and your bank balance may not like or
2. Before you wear your cheap earrings,
coat the stems or hooks with Clear Nail
Polish, a much cheaper choice than no. 1.
It coats the metal that touches your skin
and stops the irritation. You should recoat
them after a couple of wears to keep the
metal covered as it does wear off.

VIP NIGHT
I was so excited to hold \my very first VIP Event which was a fantastic
night. We had so many great businesses help with the occasion and we
had some beautiful brides find the dress of their dreams.
If you didn’t make it along to the night, no need to feel left out as I will be
holding my next one towards the end of Nov.
I loved the idea of having the Vip night at my
boutique which was the perfect setting with
Moreish Café being right next door and happy
to be a part of the event, with the runway
going through their seating area. Moreish
Café provided some beautiful meals that truly
are Moreish (if you haven’t had a chance to
have a meal there, do yourself a favour and
go, you won’t be disappointed
and I must say a big
thankyou to Ideal
Bride as my major
sponsor on the night

Everyone that attended got to take home a
great goody bag that all the suppliers
contributed to.
Lynette from Stones Corner Florist created
some beautiful arrangements for the night
while Kate from Desire Images captured all the
beautiful photographs that you see here.
Our guests were treated some scrumptious deserts by the French Patisserie
and deliberately delish. I have to say that I have never tasted such yummy
cupcakes as deliberately delish made. Deliberately Delish also created a
beautiful cake topper in the from one of my Wedding Dresses which was
amazing
White Lace and Promises helped with the styling on the
night which looked beautiful.
I must say I am
not one for
talking in front
of a crowd but
as they say
jump in and
sink or swim -
I managed to
swim
thankfully.

The say diamonds are a girls best friend and
they certainly were on the night, with everyone’s
eye on the major prize, which was a stunning
pair of diamond stud earrings from Xennox
diamonds Valued at $900, we were all hoping to
take them home
The lucky winner was Bride Louisa and I have
to say we were all jealous!!!

VEIL FEATURE
My Second Feature this month is the lovely
Rebecca Kivela who married her fiancé Laren in
a beautiful ceremony and the gorgeous photos
were captured by Jessie Dains Photography.
Rebecca came to me to get her beautiful
Designer Veil created to compliment her wedding
dress that Rebecca had bought.
Q We met at the
Ideal Bride Brisbane
Expo, Did you go to
many expos before
your wedding?
A.I think I went to
three expos.
Q The Ideal Bride Expo is my favourite expo because it has a nice boutique
personalised feel to it compared to other big expos and you get a chance to
chat to all the brides which isn't always possible at others – How did you find
the Ideal bride Expo compared to others?
A. I preferred the format of the Ideal Bride Expo because it was a bit smaller
and easier to navigate. I was a bit overwhelmed at the larger expos and
because of the crowds it was harder to chat to vendors that I was interested in.

Q Would you recommend brides going
to bridal expos to do research before
their big day and If so, what advice
would you give brides about attending
Bridal Expos.
A. I would recommend going to at least
one expo. It's a great starting place to
find and meet vendors in person and to
find out general costs. My advice would
be to already have an idea of which
services you do and don't need. That
way you'll have more time to chat to
vendors, you won't be tempted by
services that are out of your budget and
you won't be drowning in information at
the end of the day. Also, find someone
to go with- it doesn't have to be your
fiancé, I had a really fun time with my
mum and bridesmaid.
Q How did you approach finding your perfect Wedding dress? Did
you do a lot of Research & use sites such as pinterest?
A. Finding my dress was a matter of trial and error. I didn't do much
research to begin with - I just made appointments and started trying
on dresses! The first few dresses were completely wrong for my body
shape and it didn't take long to realise what aspects I did and didn't
like. Once I had a general idea of what I liked I used sites like
Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration.

Q How many bridal shops did you go too & How many dresses did
you try on before finding The One?
A. I went to bridal shops all over Brisbane and Sydney and feel like I
must have tried over a hundred dresses! I wanted to see what was out
there before choosing.
Q Was your wedding dress the style that you always thought you
would wear or was it totally different?
A. My dress was completely different to what I originally thought. I
always thought I would wear something floaty, bohemian and with lots
of lace. Instead I ended up with a classic, very structured, satin dress.

Q How did you find the experience of going into bridal shops to find
the perfect dress?
A. Going into bridal shops was exciting but also a little bit intimidating.
The more shops I visited though, the easier it became. Dress
shopping could be frustrating at times- especially when I knew what I
wanted but had trouble finding it in stores or articulating it to
salespeople. On the positive side, all of the staff in every store I went
to were so friendly and helpful.
Q. At the Ideal Bride Expo you won a gift which was a designer veil
from me. Where you worried about finding the perfect veil to go with
you dress?
A. At the time of winning, it was quite early on in the planning process
and I hadn't found a dress yet so I wasn't particularly worried. After
purchasing my dress though, I was definitely agonising about which
veil I should choose. I was lucky to have my mum, bridesmaids and of
course, your professional advice, to help me choose the perfect one.

Q. And what made you go with my Lace
cathedral veil for your beautiful day.
A. I already knew which length I wanted,
as I had tried on a cathedral length veil
with my dress in store and this was the
length recommended to me. Choosing
the lace was a completely unexpected
decision - I was sure I would choose
satin to match the dress. When you
showed me the lace option with my
dress though, everyone agreed, there
was something special about the lace
contrast with the satin.
Q. Tell us about your Beautiful Wedding Day.
A. The day before it was pouring down with rain but despite the forecast,
the weather on our wedding day was perfect. We were married at
Brisbane Grammar School, which was special because that's where my
now husband graduated from. It was so nice after a year of planning to
finally see everything come together from the floral arrangements to the
stationery that my sister-in-law designed. We loved our reception venue -
Blackbird Bar and Restaurant had the most stunning views of the Story
Bridge and we were so happy to hear our guests say they had a really
good time, which was so important to us in planning. We had an amazing
day celebrating with family from all across the world and the only downside
was, as everyone says, it went by way too quickly!

Q. If you could have the day over again, would there be anything you would
change?
A. From our experience, I've learnt that things can go wrong no matter how
much planning you do. So in hindsight, I would try to relax a bit more and not
agonise so much over every decision...but then again, obsessing over the
little details of your wedding is all part of the fun. Oh, and I would make sure
someone is around on the day who knows how to tie a bowtie! My poor mum
and dad spent so long trying to figure it out on the day.
Q. What advice would you
give to brides as they start
their journey on finding the
Perfect Wedding Dress?
A. My advice would be don't
feel dejected if the first few
dresses you try on aren't rightthere
are so many styles out
there and it just takes time
and an open mind to find the
dress that suits you. Make
sure you try on a variety of
styles in a process of
elimination. Also, look for a
dress that is true to your style
and personality and don't be
swayed by whatever the
current bridal trend is. You
want to look at your photos in
20+ years time and still be in
love with your dress

BRIDAL TREND
One of the newest trends
emerging is a single flower
bouquet, which may sound a little
boring but as you can see
created properly it can be
absolutely stunning and definitely
on my favourite list.

BRIDAL TREND
Weddings are very big days - understandably! and for the bride and
groom it can be the end of many months of planning and budgeting.
Organising a wedding can seem to take on a life of it’s own.
With the big build up to the big day, many couples tell me that the
only down side to the day is that it went way too fast and this is
where the lastet trend comes in.
Couples are now opting for a 2
day wedding and you can see
how this is becoming a trend.
The wedding day is so jam
packed from the start of the day
to the time the bride and groom
leave the reception and even
though the day is a long day
with so much scheduled in, it
still goes by in a blink of an eye
for the happy couple, with them
wishing it could go on a little
longer and why wouldn’t you
want the best day of your life to
go on a little longer.
Some of you may say oh no that sounds like too much, but the 2nd
day is a day to celebrate the first day as husband and wife with your
family and friends with out the stress that the wedding day can have.
It doesn’t need to be overplanned or micromanaged. It can be a low
key affair to celebrate the start of your new life together and enjoy
the feelings that flow on from the day before while stepping slowly
out of the bridal day haze before you take off on your honeymoon.

WINC’S CHARITY LUNCHEON
The Winc’s Women in Credit Charity Luncheon was on again last month
and it was my second year of being involved in this fantastic event.
Each year the Winc’s luncheon is held in states throughout Australia to not
only celebrate great women but to raise funds for a much deserving charity.
Last year the Winc’s luncheon helped raise funds for Domestic Violence.
This year the luncheon helped another very deserving charity for women
with funds going to the McGrath Foundation. There is not many people in
our world including myself, that have not been touched by some form of
cancer either directly with their own family, friend or indirectly from a
friend’s family member and I must say when the speaker for the foundation
stood up to speak there was quite a few tears in the room.
Julie McNamara a wonderful client and friend, Mc’d the event and has
formed a tradition by wearing
one of her JK Couture Design’s
to the luncheon, this year
wearing my black and gold
evening dress design.
The silent auction was a big hit
once again with Shannon
outbidding everyone else
(including Julie - who wants a
new design for the next years
luncheon) to receive one of my
designer dresses for herself
while the money will help the
foundation immensely.
