FISHING CABARLAH: This month, the club trip was to Coolmunda Dam which is currently at 95 per cent. The weather was not the best with strong southerly winds blowing on Friday and Saturday. The Sunday morning weather was the pick of the weekend. There were 14 members in attendance but unfortunately not a lot of fish were caught. The largest of those caught were: Yellow Belly Ron Gwydir 1.71kg, Jew Wayne Sommerfield 1.98kg, Silver Perch Wayne Sommerfield 1.10kg The club has welcomed a new member, Anthony White, and his son Jared as a junior member. Next trip Bjelke Petersen Dam September 9 and 10, as water levels are still at 20 per cent. Recent reports indicate that although the level is dropping and some areas are shallow, the main basins are fishing well. There will be a club sausage sizzle held on the Saturday night for all members to enjoy. Hamish Classic The Hamish Classic is being held again this year by Downlands College in memory of Hamish Stewart. The tournament will be held on September 23, also at Bjelke-Petersen Dam.
