All executive have been re-elected with the exception of Maurice Costello who stood down and the election of collections officer, Sue Noordhuis. Maurice was awarded life membership in recognition of his long service in many roles including treasurer, secretary, collections officer and head of the catering team, and for lovingly restoring the aged furniture throughout the museum to its rightful glory. The covered wagon and the picnic shed have been moved from the front of the museum grounds. These changes were made to accommodate the new building that will serve as an information centre. School children from around the Toowoomba region, sporting groups, special interest clubs, retirement village groups and tourists have been enjoying the revitalised museum/village since volunteer Bob Ramsay has diligently repainted the buildings. FREE admission is offered to locals who bring paying guests who provide much appreciated entrance fees, vital for the maintenance, restoration and improvements to the exhibits. Those who have not visited in the last couple of years will be pleasantly surprised at the improvements and enjoy an hour or more strolling around the village talking to people and remembering things that make up the local heritage and that can be experienced here. Every Thursday from 8am to noon, volunteers get together to have a cuppa and cake and do a bit around the museum. YOU are very welcome to come along.
