The powers of the Rugby Development Partnership are to have overall responsibility for - Coach and Referee Development - Playing and development programmes - Club / education links The general Terms of Reference of the Rugby Development Partnership are to: • Manage integrated player development and playing programmes within structured season and link to youth and schools competitions. 13 For further information visit http://dwrugby.co.uk/
• Plan and budget annual player development and playing programmes. • Work in partnership with Schools’ Union and RFUW • Establish player and coach databases • Through the Coach and Referee Development Lead and in liaison with RDOs: o Direct club and schools coach and referee development programmes o Liaise with club coach and referee coordinators o Manage appointment of coaches and managers to the playing squads. YOUTH PLAYER DEVELOPMENT SUB COMMITTEE Composition: Chairman (appointed or co-opted) – DPP Manager and Lead Coach (Dorset and Wilts DPP Centre’s) – Club and Schools Reps – Mini and Youth Forum Chairs – Age Grade Managers (U13-U16) – Youth Registrar – RFU Officers. The powers and general Terms of Reference for the u13s – u16s Playing and Development Programmes (including the RFU Schools of Rugby) are: In conjunction with the Rugby Development Officers and within RDP Committee guidelines: • Manage quality player development and playing programmes for players aged 5-18 playing rugby within D&WRFU • Monitor the effectiveness of the DPP and manage and expand player development and programmes for U13-U16 players • Manage opportunities for those U15 and U16 players taking part in representative rugby for D&WRFU • Work in conjunction with the Youth Forums to provide RFU policy guidance, share good practice and encourage co-operation between member clubs and to develop, organize and promote playing opportunities targeted to recruit and retain players aged 5-18 at all levels of ability and experience. • Prepare and administer budgets for player development for players not involved in the DPP and playing programmes for U15-U16-U17-U18 players playing representative rugby for D&WRFU. • Communicate effectively and efficiently with all relevant stakeholders regarding club and D&W player development and playing programmes for players aged 5-18. Work with DWRFSU to co-ordinate and develop player development programmes for schools within D&WRFU and to encourage and promote Club-School links. WOMAN’S and GIRLS’ PLAYER DEVELOPMENT SUB-COMMITTEE Working in conjunction with RDOs, CRCs and the RFU WRDO (Area 1): • Encourage the development of Women’s and Girls’ Rugby • Encourage more women to become referees and coaches • Manage player development programme and playing programmes for Age Grade and Senior squads • Manage the financial arrangements for the season within budget • Facilitate the growth of Woman’s & Girls Rugby and best practice through Dorset and Wiltshire Forums. 14 For further information visit http://dwrugby.co.uk/
