No external software or programming tools are required to configure and build applications.

SECURE VPN REMOTE ACCESS
The eWON Flexy embeds VPN capabilities and
compatibility with Talk2M and eFive. This allows
highly secure remote access for remote monitoring,
troubleshooting and application tuning. The Flexy 20x
adds routing capabilities that allows remote access
to any serial or Ethernet devices behind the eWON
Flexy. It enables PLC remote maintenance, remote IP
camera, remote HMI monitoring, etc.

The eWON Flexy is able to perform local data
acquisition using the serial or Ethernet port. The data
acquisition process is built around a tagged database
in which each tag is associated with an I/O server. The
eWON Flexy is able to perform data acquisition with
the following protocols: Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP,
Uni-Telway, EtherNet/IP, DF1, FINS TCP, FINS Hostlink, ISO
TCP, PPI, MPI, Profibus, Mistubishi FX, Hitachi EH, ASCII.

All configuration and application parameters are available in a text file that allows
centralized device management. eWON Flexy can be remotely updated by remote
file swap or local SD card upload.
ALARM MANAGEMENT AND
NOTIFICATION
The eWON Flexy provides full support for alarm triggering,
acknowledgment, status and traceability. Alarm
thresholds (4x) and parameters (activation delay,
deadband value) can be set on every tagname. The
complete alarm cycle (ALM, RTN-return to Normal,
ACKnowledgment, END) is traced and available for
monitoring and analysis. Alarm notification can be
performed by email, SMS, SNMP trap and/or put FTP.
DATA LOGGING AND RETRIEVAL
Continuous data logging and buffering can be
performed on every tagname. Each tagname
can be logged on fixed interval or on change
(with deadband). eWON stores tag data values
(+timestamp) in its internal database (up to 1,000,000
time stamped points) for statistical analysis and
later review (historical logging) or to analyze recent
trends (real-time logging). The datalogging files
can be easily retrieved by FTP, HTTP or as an e-mail
attachment.
WEB SERVER HMI
The eWON Flexy has an integrated web server for
configuration and monitoring purposes. The eWON Flexy
provides a highly cost effective HMI, viewable wherever
you are through any standard Web browser interface.
PROGRAMMABLE USING BASIC SCRIPTING OR JAVA
The eWON Flexy can be fully scripted using BASIC scripting language or JAVA. You can
design from simple to sophisticated automated tasks such as:
• Reading and writing data via the serial port for industrial devices with
proprietary protocols
• Sending email messages
• Replying to incoming SMS messages
• Managing TCP/IP routing tables and features
• Dynamically updating the eWON unit configuration JAVA and BASIC scripts
are intended to be used for deploying large eWON based applications, since
this provides flexibility and scalability

Connectivity
Netbiter EC300 series gateways connect to field equipment via several
connection methods: Serial RS-232/485 Modbus RTU, Modbus-TCP or
EtherNet/IP or CAN. On-board I/O ports allow sensors and additional
equipment to be connected.
Cloud services through Netbiter Argos
The gateways interface with the cloud-based Netbiter Argos service via
the cellular network or Ethernet. By logging into www.netbiter.net, you can
access and visualize equipment data online and get alarms via email or
SMS whenever certain thresholds are reached.
Configure and operate machinery remotely
The powerful feature Netbiter Remote Access allows you to open up a
secure connection to remote machinery and configure or operate it from
any location. For example, with a Netbiter gateway connected to your

The eWON 2005CD/4005CD is a full industrial router featuring “Factory” LAN
to “Machine” LAN routing functionalities with VPN tunnelling features. An
optional embedded modem can also be used as a secondary or back up

I/O TAGS
Each graphical element and symbol can be linked to a specific
tag (boolean or analogue) stored in the eWON device. Internal
tags can be monitored. The tag list can be imported to your
project with a single mouse click. You can use Basic scripting to
customize applications and address specific system requirements.
SYNOPTICS
viewON provides an enhanced graphical editing environment
with a comprehensive range of graphics primitives from which
graphical symbols can be created. Each graphic element
can be edited individually, providing transparency, fill style with

What is eSync ?
eSync is a data connector software that lets
you concentrate and synchronize eWON
historical data and alarms in a central server
location. With eSync, system integrators can
easily integrate remote data into third party
applications.
DATA ACQUISITION
The eWON Flexy I/O server lets you extract data
from any connected devices. Time-stamped data
can be stored in the eWON internal memory.
Real-time values can also be accessed easily.
EASY CONFIGURATION AND
SCHEDULING
eSync is based on a Web server (Apache) that
allows easy configuration through web pages
(PHP) as well as data reception from the remote
eWON using the “Post HTTP” function. The upload
interval and trigger mechanism are set up in the
eWON router itself. Data transfer can be initiated
on Alarm/Event, using the eWON Planner or by
scripting.

OPTIMIZED DATA TRANSFER PROTOCOL
Data upload is managed automatically and
efficiently. The eWON router never sends the same
data twice. Such synchronization with the server
is especially important in the event of cellular
connections.

Internet: If eSync is accessible and visible from
the Internet, the remote eWON can connect
to it using an Internet connection (wired or
wireless).
Talk2M makes things smarter. With its
integrated M2U data service, the remote
eWON uploads its data through a secure VPN
tunnel. Talk2M acts as a relay to forward the
data (using HTTPS) to eSync.
DATABASE BUFFERING
The eWON data are stored in a MySQL database,
which acts as a temporary data buffer. An
external software package periodically extracts
data from the MySQL database and feeds your
application database, which will act as your data
historian repository. The oldest data in the eSync
database are automatically deleted.
DATA FILE REPOSITORY
As an alternative to database buffering, eSync
can also produce CSV files with all new data. This
can be a useful option if your application software
(Historian, reporting software, SCADA) is able to
manage CSV files to upload data.
