It was certainly a memorable<br />
2016 season for the Hearltand<br />
Huskies. The team started the<br />
campaign with a loss to High<br />
Plains, but then rattled off nine<br />
straight wins.<br />
A big reason for the success<br />
was running back Austin Stuhr.<br />
Stuhr, who won state in pole<br />
vaulting, rushed for more than<br />
3,000 yards and found the end<br />
zone 44 times last year. Stuhr<br />
eventually set the state rushing<br />
record before moving on to play<br />
football at Northwest Missouri<br />
State.<br />
Replacing Stuhr will be a<br />
huge challenge for head coach<br />
Matt Maltsberger, but he’s<br />
not the only star player gone.<br />
The Huskies will also have a<br />
new quarterback this year to<br />
replace the production of Lane<br />
Huebert. Huebert threw for 15<br />
touchdowns last season, while<br />
also adding 10 scores on the<br />
ground.<br />
