Lord, we cannot depart from you without your blessing. Forgive us, if that
seems bold, for we know how undeserving we are. Nevertheless, we
know that without your love, your guidance, your strength we are
nothing. So we cry out again: O Lord, bless us, we pray.
Lord, as you have blessed us we would be a blessing to others. In
that spirit we present our offerings for your blessing.
Samson’s Death
23 Now the lords of the Philistines gathered to offer a great sacrifice to
their god Dagon, and to rejoice; for they said, “Our god has given Samson
our enemy into our hand.” 24 When the people saw him, they praised their
god; for they said, “Our god has given our enemy into our hand, the
ravager of our country, who has killed many of us.” 25 And when their
hearts were merry, they said, “Call Samson, and let him entertain us.” So
they called Samson out of the prison, and he performed for them. They
made him stand between the pillars; 26 and Samson said to the attendant
who held him by the hand, “Let me feel the pillars on which the house
rests, so that I may lean against them.” 27 Now the house was full of men
and women; all the lords of the Philistines were there, and on the roof
there were about three thousand men and women, who looked on while
Samson performed.
HOLY, HOLY, HOLY! LORD GOD ALMIGHTY
(United Methodist Hymnal #64)
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!
Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,
casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
which wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.
Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see,
only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
perfect in power, in love and purity.
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth and sky and sea.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity.
The Wall of Honor
Hope’s Wall of Honor is an everlasting tribute to our Veterans. It was designed and
donated to Hope by Brother Sid Taylor, a US Marine, Vietnam combat veteran and
beloved member of Hope. It is a memorial tribute to commemorate the sacrifices our
veterans have made for our country. We are grateful to Sid and his family for blessing
us all with the beautiful Wall of Honor.
New names are added to the Wall of Honor every Veteran’s Day. If you, a loved one, or
a friend served in the armed forces and would like to be added to the Wall, please
complete the Wall of Honor form located in the Literature Rack and place it in the Wall of
Honor mailbox outside the Sanctuary. God bless you.
TO OUR ENTIRE HOPE CHURCH FAMILY
The family of Sarah M. King sincerely appreciates the many expressions of sympathy from you, our
beloved church family. We thank you for your kind deeds, your thoughtful cards and gifts, your
prayers for our comfort, healing and safe travel. Your support continues to be a blessing as we
experience this loss during a difficult time.
Thankfully, we are finding peace through knowing that our mother loved Jesus, the giver of abundant
life here on earth. We are assured she has received the greatest love blessing ever... the gift of eternal
life with God in heaven!
We thank you again and we love you in Christ,
The families of Mary Mayo and Beverly Scarbrough
