9. Remove rotor and fan .by using a soft-faced hammer to tap on the adapter while holding the rotor assembly about one inch above bench with a hoist and rope sling, Figure 63. 10. A FIGURE 62 ROTOR HANDLING SLING A rope sling is the most suitable device for handling rotors, Figure 62. Iz3 CAUT~ON Uie care to prevent damage to the fan blades. Broken bladeswill throw the fan out of balance and reduce the air flow rate. If it is necessary to replace a damaged fan, sup- port rotor assembly horizontally and remove fan from rotor with a gear puller.
