The business started in 1956 as Zimmerman
Motors. It was located in the Sinclair Station, on the
north corner of Main and Davis Streets. Used cars were
sold at this time. Willis Zimmerman owned the
business. In January of 1957 Wayne Hall bought onehalf
of the business. The name was changed to Zimmerman
& Hall. The business moved to the corner of Scott
and Main in 1962. The Chrysler-Plymouth franchise
began in the fall of 1963 with the 1964 model cars —
Willis Zimmerman, Wayne Hall, Lowell and Dale
Stambaugh, owners. The name was changed to
Stambaugh-Zimmerman Mtrs., Inc. Two years later, in

December of 1967, the Stambaughs sold their half
back to Willis and Wayne. The name was changed
again in I972 to Zimmerman and Hall Motors inc.
Willis died in 1978. Wayne bought all of the business
at that time. The name was changed to Wayne Hall
Chrysler-Plymouth Inc. There are nine employees:
Wayne B. Hall, president; Wayne D. Hall, vicepresident;
Donna R. Hall, secretary-treasurer; Jill
Brewer, parts manager; Phil Stambaugh, salesman.
The shop crew are Garret Cass, with the company 22
years; Randy Bieber, 10 years; Wayne Sams, 5 years;
and Bob Joslin, 2 years.
