In 1895, J.W. Conmey opened a Dry Goods store. This store was in operation for 35 years. Lawrence Conmey, J.W.'s son, started a Real Estate business in I944 which he owned and operated until his death in 1975. Bill, Lawrence's son, was born and raised in Anamosa and lived for 29 years in the apartment above the business. Bill is married to Julie, a teacher in the Anamosa Community School System. They have 2 children, James William, 8 years old; and Jessica Erin, 6 years old. Bill entered the Real Estate business in I979 and opened Conmey Real Estate in1983. Conmey Real Estate deals in Farms, Homes, Acreages and Commercial properties in Jones County and the surrounding area. In addition to Bill, Merlin Moore, Mary Husmann, Marv Marek, Sue Fogarty, and Dave Grassfield complete his staff. Together they have 50 years experience. in Real Estate.
