LOVE AT LEON’S
A MODERN DAY LOVE STORY

This is the story of a girl name
Victoria. Victoria was always a
fearlessly independent, thoughtful and
strong willed woman.
She was an individual who marched to
her own tune.

So naturally, when Victoria found love,
it wasn’t exactly the fairytale you read
about in storybooks or the New York
Time’s wedding section.
It was so much better.

Victoria was a college student at Lehigh
University, located in the exotic, far off
town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
She wasn’t like all the other girls at Lehigh.
Victoria wore oversized t-shirts to parties.
Her idea of fun was learning Arabic. She
even spent two semesters abroad to better
understand conflict regions, diplomacy and
international relations… not relationships.

Speaking of relationships, Victoria had
many suitors over the years. But she refused
to settle for just any frat boy.

In fact, when it came to love,
Victoria only had eyes for dogs.
But soon enough, things would change…

It was one of the first nights of senior
year, and everyone who was anyone was
at Leon’s. Victoria noticed a guy sitting at
the bar alone.
His name was Jon.
Intrigued by her racially ambiguous look,
Jon flirted with Victoria. But she didn’t
tolerate being mistaken for a Gamma Phi
girl, and so she swiftly walked away.

Not only
am I
perfect,
I’m Latina.

Although his first attempt failed, Jon
knew there was something special about
Victoria, and he intended to find out
exactly what it was.
So he spent the next few months trying to
get her attention. He showed off his own
love of dogs and his impressive driving
skills. He dressed like a grown up. And
maybe even was one, too. When he went
to parties, all eyes were on him, but his…
were on Victoria.

And eventually, Victoria started to
like Jon.
Although as a fiercely independent
girl, she would never admit it out
loud. So she decided to make a
small and cautious first move.

As Victoria and Jon grew closer,
she found herself exposed to a whole
new world.
One in which people didn’t wear paper
hats to New Years Eve celebrations.
And 21st birthday parties involved more
than a celebratory cheap beer.

While Victoria remained unfazed by
his glamours appeal, she did begin
to admire Jon’s unique perspective on
the world. She even came to enjoy it.
So the days turned into weeks, and
weeks turned into months.

And all the fun they were having
started to feel a bit like… love.
So on a romantic summer night, they
shared those three magic words.

Not on a moonlit walk along the
river, but in a parking garage.
In Hoboken, New Jersey.
Because as they’d come to learn, a
perfect moment in life would never
be a perfect moment for them.

Victoria and Jon had a lot of fun being
together. They discovered new things
in life and in turn, discovered new
things in each other.
But being a couple wasn’t always easy.
Victoria was used to taking care of
herself, and sometimes her steadfast
principles didn’t fit into Jon’s world.
She also liked to have fun on her own
terms, which didn’t always make him
very happy.

There were highs and lows. There were
growing pains. And there were even
a few moments when they wanted
nothing to do with each other.

But there were more moments when
they couldn’t imagine being with
anyone else.
Eventually Victoria and Jon both knew
that the good would always outweigh
the bad. And from that point on, their
relationship blossomed.

I ATE
TOO MUCH
CHEESE...

Victoria and Jon became the best
activity partners. They ate everything
they could get their hands on.
And suffered the consequences together.
SAME.

They were each others travel companion,
from Montauk to Machu Picchu.

They even became well versed in each
others languages —
Jon learned Spanish, and Victoria
learned haute cuisine.

Victoria and Jon were not only best friends,
but they became the balance in each
others lives.
When Victoria got frustrated, Jon helped
her focus on the positive.
When Jon got his head stuck in the clouds,
Victoria reeled him back to reality.

Victoria has always been, and will
always be a driven and dynamic woman.
But when Jon came into her life, he
really open up her world.
His persistence enabled her to
experience realms she never dreamed
of. Including an all encompassing,
life-changing and undeniable true love.

Having Jon by her side means that
Victoria is no longer just a remarkable
individual. Now she is part of a
remarkable team.
And that’s the story of how Victoria and
Jonathan decided to stay a team for the
rest of their lives.
