Background
About the DP
One of the key sectors in the Philippine
Economy is the transportation system.
Train stations in the Philippines have become
a dangerous transportation because of poorly
maintained facilities and outdated software
technologies.
The developmental project studies the
struggles of Filipino rail commuters during their
transportation specifically the Manila Metro Rail
Transit System (MRT) and Manila Light Rail Transit
System (LRT)
About the Journal
The overall design of this journal
is based from what rail commuters see
and feel during their commute.
The designs included are silhouettes
of buildings that commuters look at
during their ride as well as a clock
that symbolizes the time that they
always check before arriving on their
destination due to their sense of
accurate arrival.

The logo is a combination
of a clock and a train.
The clock represents on
time departure and arrival
that secures safety to
all passengers.
The train, on the other
hand, represents the
improved LRT and MRT train
stations in the
Philippines.
Combining the two symbols,
it creates a sense of
accurate time management
for work and safety
measurements due to the
smooth transportation
the train gives to all the
passengers during the
commute.

of Philippine rail stations.
LRT / MRT stations often
causes accidents during
transport.
WHY THEM?
There are a lot of people who uses LRT / MRT stations
as a transportation method, however most passengers
are usually students and employees.
Because of their importance in catching up the time
to arrive to their school or work, they are usually the
passengers who gets affected a lot whenever unexpected
issues occurred during the transportation.
Departure & Arrival
Time matters.
Late departure or arrival of
the train causes hindrance.
Fares / Expenses
Not only students but also
employees experience problem in
the rising train fares.
