<strong>Turbo</strong>cor compressors offer the outstanding energy savings from digitally controlled,<br />

frictionless two-stage centrifugal compression and guarantees significant reductions in<br />

operating cost and environmental emissions associated with energy production.<br />

The oil-free design of <strong>Turbo</strong>cor compressors eliminates the potential for efficiency robbing oil<br />

contamination and all of the oil management accessories: oil heaters, oil pumps, oil separators,<br />

oil filters, plus oil disposal.<br />

Compressor soft-start draws only 2 amps and reduces mechanical stress, as well as the<br />

electrodynamic stresses on the power cables and electrical distribution network, extending<br />

the overall lifespan of the system.<br />

<strong>Powerstream</strong> <strong>Turbo</strong> features newly developed shell-and-tube condensers optimized for HFC and<br />

HFO refrigerants to provide the best efficiency. With high-performance tubes, new baffle design<br />

and shell, these condensers provide maximum efficiency with a low cost per kW, as well as shorter<br />

lenght and reduced weight comparing with competing solutions. Water flow within condenser is<br />

optimized to reduce the fouling and erosion risks.<br />

Standard are 2 pass condensers, 4 pass condensers available as an option.<br />

Grooved connections<br />

We use grooved end connections because of their rigidity, flexibility, noise and vibration attenuation, and easy of installation and<br />

maintenance. The groove is made by cold forming or machining a groove into the end of a pipe. A gasket encompassed by the<br />

coupling housing is wrapped around the two grooved pipe ends, and the key sections of the coupling housing engage the grooves.<br />

The bolts and nuts are tightened with a socket wrench or impact wrench.<br />

Higher microchannel condenser performance results in a reduced condensing temperature,<br />

which in turn reduces compressor power consumption and increases the overall <strong>chiller</strong><br />

efficiency, while allowable operating envelope of the compressors gets widened to a higher<br />

ambient temperature.<br />

Superior performance of the microchannel freecooling coil translates to higher freecooling<br />

capacity and increased freecooling hours, thus increasing the overall system efficiency. In the<br />

same time, the microchannel freecooling coils do not impact the fan power consumption due<br />

to the low airside pressure drop.<br />

The flooded evaporator enables to operate at the higher saturated evaporating temperature when<br />

compared to many others evaporator types and allows to achieve higher cooling capacity with<br />

correspondingly higher efficiency.<br />

The refrigerant pool behaves as a flywheel, allowing the controls of the flooded evaporator to track<br />

the varying load of a batch process, while optimized tube geometry ensures optimal refrigerant<br />

distribution.


Advanced controls<br />

The control hub of <strong>Powerstream</strong> <strong>Turbo</strong> <strong>chiller</strong>s is a sophisticated controller and advanced software<br />

developed for efficient operation of <strong>Turbo</strong>cor-based <strong>chiller</strong>s. It manages and optimizes the <strong>chiller</strong>’s<br />

performance, giving the complete control over the system for plant operator.<br />

For the efficient operation of multiple units on a single chilled water plant, the sequencing software<br />

permits interlinked operation of the complete system, thus providing optimal temperature control and<br />

minimal energy consumption.<br />
