http://www.imagesofmusic.net/th/content/main/de/item952.htm Italienische Schaukel / Leben in Rom,
Jahrhunderts viele
Künstler in Italien.
in späteren Werken.
Zeichnung "Italienische Schaukel" bzw.
Germany's intellectual elite displayed an enthusiasm for the American Revolution similar to that of

France's philosophes. By 1784, Germany's most famous engraver, Daniel Chodowiecki of Berlin, as
well as Johann Heinrich Ramberg of Hanover, had produced etchings focusing on the stacking of arms
as the sign of surrender. Chodowiecki worked in Berlin where he was a member of the Royal Academy.
Ramberg was studying with Benjamin West in London under the sponsorship of King George III when
he executed his engraving in 1784. Ramberg's engraving is little known, but Chodowiecki's
Torokkanizsa along the Soltvadkert-Kiskunhalas-Szabadka road. ... On August 5 Haynau started
1849, http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1849/04/14.htm The Austrian army was extended in a
long line from Balassa-Gyarmat via Waitzen and Aszod to Szegléd. The second army corps commanded
by Ramberg constituted the left wing, and its most advanced brigades (Götz and Jablonowsky) occupied
positions not at Losoncz, as was previously boasted, but six miles further back near Balassa-Gyarmat,
Vadkert and Waitzen. Schlick with the third corps were in the centre and had taken up positions in the
vicinity of Hatvan and Aszod behind the Zagyva. Jellachich with the first corps made up the right wing
which was extended from Szegléd to the vicinity of Jasz-Bereny and was likewise behind the Zagyva, but
a little further back.
Arthur Georg Freiherr
von Ramberg (1819 - 1875), Born on September 4, 1819 in Vienna and died on February 5, 1875 in
Munich. - After his first instruction in drawing with his great-uncle Johann Heinrich, Ramberg began a
course of study in philosophy at the University of Prague. During this time he also studied painting at the
Academy in Prague with Franz Kadlik. In 1849 he relocated to Munich, and in 1860 went to Weimar where
held a position as instructor at the newly founded Kunstschule (art school). In 1866 he returned to Munich
as professor at the Academy. In contrast to the school of history painting that was inspired by Carl
Theodor von Piloty, Ramberg's works take their primary inspiration from 17th century Dutch genre painting
http://www.mahart.hu/mahart/angol/a23.htm "... Afterwards, the ships sailed away again but into a war of
completely different kind. The Danube-seagoing ships as leased ones, from 1941, on the available list of
the German MSTL Ost on the Black Sea, as long as the river ships on the base of the current orders of the
Hungarian KSZV performed the transport of military reserves. The sea fleet suffered the first loss. The
recently completed motorship Ungvar on 8th November, 1941 struck a mine at Odessa, the m/s
KOLOZSVÁR was hit by a torpedo on 22nd January, 1943 at Sulina. This event had been painted by
August von Ramberg for the DTRT. The river fleet got in critical situation in 1944, when the English
airplanes had laid mines over the Danube section from Bratislava to Russe. The first Hungarian ship
striking a mine was the steam tug GRÓF SZAPÁRY GYULA; following this the ships sunk and fell victims
to air raids one after the other."
