2. Syllabus Notes<br />

a. The purpose of this block is to continue developing air<br />

work skills during basic maneuvers, emergency procedures, and<br />

autorotations.<br />

b. Emphasize CRM during all flights, especially during<br />

simulated emergency procedures.<br />

c. SNA shall fly off-wing for at least one, but no more<br />

than two flights between C4102-C4203.<br />

3. Special Syllabus Requirements<br />

C4202<br />

Demonstrate tail rotor malfunctions: fixed pitch right pedal<br />

applied, in a hover and at altitude; fixed pitch left pedal<br />

applied, in a hover and at altitude; complete loss of tail<br />

rotor thrust, in a hover.<br />

4. Discuss Items<br />

C4201<br />

Fuel system, fuel boost pump failure, airframe fuel filter,<br />

fuel contamination, fuel control failure, suspected fuel<br />

leakage, engine fire in flight, engine overspeed (Nf), rotor<br />

RPM (Nr), underspeeding Nf/Nr, CRM, leadership.<br />

C4202<br />

Tail rotor malfunctions and failures, loss of tail rotor<br />

effectiveness.<br />

C4203<br />

Vortex ring state, control feedback, any previously briefed<br />

emergency procedure or aircraft limitation, solo guidelines,<br />

RWOP/SOP.
