25. On-Wing. The student’s assigned instructor in the Contact<br />

40 through 42 blocks of training and IAW CNATRAINST 1500.4G.<br />

26. Outcomes. Potential courses of action following a Progress<br />

Check:<br />

a. Pass - Return to training.<br />

b. Fail - Proceed with the elimination process/eliminate.<br />

27. Phase of Training. A major division in the course of<br />

training. Helicopter <strong>MPTS</strong> consists of two phases: Primary and<br />

Advanced.<br />

28. Pink ATF. A standard ATF that is printed on pink paper.<br />

The pink ATF is used to denote an unsatisfactory event<br />

generating a progress check.<br />

29. Progress Check Pilot. An Instructor Pilot authorized to<br />

administer initial or final progress checks.<br />

30. Ready Room Unsatisfactory (RRU). An unsatisfactory grade<br />

given for inadequate knowledge of flight procedures, systems,<br />

discuss items, emergency procedures, deficient preflight<br />

planning, or unofficer-like qualities.<br />

31. Special Syllabus Requirement (SSR). One-time, ungraded<br />

demonstration items.<br />

32. Stage of Training. All training of a particular type<br />

(Ground, Contact, Instrument, Navigation, Formation, Tactical)<br />

within a phase. The first letter in the lesson designator<br />

identifies the stage of each lesson (Example: F4101 is in the<br />

Formation stage).<br />

33. Student Monitoring Status (SMS). Squadron-initiated status<br />

to address substandard student performance.<br />

34. Supplemental ATF. A form inserted into a student’s ATJ<br />

that contains non-syllabus information. Also referred to as a<br />

“writeup” in TIMS.
