flight planning room<br />

or base operations<br />

for the aircraft.<br />

● End when<br />

transitioning to<br />

forward flight.<br />

● Begin again when<br />

aircraft clears the<br />

runway and continue<br />

until transitioning<br />

to forward flight<br />

for a subsequent<br />

takeoff or when the<br />

aircrew is clear of<br />

the aircraft and<br />

postflight duties<br />

are complete.<br />

● Complies with OPNAVINST 3710.7U,<br />

NATOPS, FTI, RWOP, squadron SOP,<br />

and training directives.<br />

● Determines aircraft status.<br />

● Properly preflights and starts<br />

the aircraft.<br />

● Properly operates aircraft<br />

systems on ground.<br />

● Ensures clearance of line<br />

personnel, ground equipment, and<br />

other aircraft using appropriate<br />

signals.<br />

● Taxies aircraft at speeds<br />

commensurate with safety based on<br />

location, weather conditions, and<br />

pilot skills.<br />

● Maintains taxiway boundaries<br />

(including hold short) and gives<br />

way to other aircraft as<br />

appropriate.<br />

● Properly shuts down the aircraft,<br />

postflights and secures the<br />

aircraft.
